Brady is 100% right, he always made a point to keep his receivers out of danger. He also told his receivers to sacrifice YAC to keep themselves healthy
@TheFutureofthePlanet Exactly, he may have tried at times but not just those 2, Amendola and Brown took a beating in the slot too. Also the play Gronk got his knee blown out was crazy. TJ Ward could have hit him high or low either way hey was fucked Brady just hung him out there.
@TheFutureofthePlanet that's just the consequences of playing football. You acting as if the ONLY reason players get hurt is because of QBs
Cheater
@@MyChannel-ol1zzsalty huh? Who’s your qb?
Yac? When did he tell receivers to sacrifice yac and go down for injury prevention? Not saying tb12 didn’t say it. I’ve never heard it.
They changed all the rules to prevent QBs from getting injured and there's 10 backups playing this year. Really glad they're protecting the QBs.
This!!!!
yea non-contact ones will always happen but i think the point of regulation instead of individual protection has had a been impact on why people still get hurt
Ironically, the roughing the passer rules started changing in 2008 after Brady got injured in the first play of the season. But he's right. It's impossible to play defense these days
because of the rules they are picking qb's based on running ability. Since you can't hit qb's they have become running backs with special priviledge.
When players gotta go half assed to avoid penalties it's a recipe for increasing injuries. This goes for all positions.
2005-2015 was a great decade of football. The games changed.
You are correct sir. There are like 3 good QBs in the game today. Purdy, Hurts, and Burrow. There are next to no stars left. Everyone is mediocre. The 49ers have about the best and most charismatic players in numbers.
Purdy lol no..mahomes is in there at the top. Toms right tho, low quality players and coaches everywhere..@@rpc2112

As a Niner fan. Watching Jimmy G was like watching a QB purposefully try and get his receivers knocked out with how he’d throw to them
Lobs straight down the middle with safeties & LB’s waiting 😂
It’s ironic the qb’s (rodgers/Brady) who were always bitching to the refs asking for penalty flags are now saying the sport is too soft. It was because of YOU. It’s like fuggin Michael Jordan saying the nba has too many superstar calls
@@dennish3664too many calls and not enough calls are not the only two ways it can be. They arent crying about the league being more strict on dirty plays/players, theyre upset about new rules that made what was normal back in the dsy become illegal. When they asked for flags back then it was over blatantly illegal moves, if you watched Brady or Rodgers in their prime and that is your takeaway you obviously know nothing about football. This is coming from a Bears fan btw, Aaron Rodgers is in my top 5 hated people of all time😂 yet your idiocy has me defending him
@@Ghostgotjokes if you think Brady and rodgers weren’t always bitching to the refs any time they thought they could get an advantage you are a clown. Serious rose colored glasses there. Roughing the passer call is the number #1 call that’s hurting the NFL in my opinion.
Big time man. The fact that its so blatantly called different depending on who the Qb is issue as well
I dont disagree but id say pass interference seems to decide games more than it should.
Roughing the passer and pass interference are ruining the game. So many times QBs get out of the pocket and break tackles because the guys are just terrified to hit them. And Pass interference is just lame most of the time.
I also want them to do something about offensive players bracing for impact by lowering their helmet. It’s too easy to draw a flag for helmet to helmet collision.
I completely disagree. The drop off from the top QBs is ridiculous. Nobody wants to watch Browning, they want JB. The Browns just went from contender to I'm not sure if they break 20 the rest of the year. QBs make the NFL what it is. The NFL is king in America, the Super Bowl is one of the most watched events in the world every year, yet people still can't understand why the QB gets protected.
Also spot fouls on pass interference is bs too
I agree with Aaron and Tom on both their points. The NFL needs to find a good balance between offensive and defensive protection without hurting the game.
brady is one of the biggest reasons it's like this man. always crying to the refs and they give him the flag whenever he fkn cried.

No one benefitted from these rules changes more than Brady. That’s why he won championships. Going over the middle to small slots after rule changes
I think the rule changes have affected the game so much that you have to have a great QB or you can’t win. You used to be able to win games with a run game and Defense.
The rough the passer calls are probably the WORST. Seeing Wilson and Mahomes cry after a soft push and the flags get thrown are insanely infuriating.
Do I need to post a lowlight reel of Brady, Manning, and Brees complaining about hits. Brady and Brees would complain all the way to the league office. In short THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE for the rule changes. It is nauseating hearing them complain about it.
@@NOTimpressed20 BS it was peytons boy polian who complained and got rules changed in 2004 and it wasnt about that...CTE and class action lawsuits related to it are the driving force behind most of the saftey based rule changes...
the pats only complained when Brady was lost for an entire yr due to injury because the league had refused to enforce the Carson Palmer rule that Bernard Pollard broke without being flagged or fined for it after he speared Brady in the knee in wk1 2008 and Brady complained 2yrs later when after the league had officially "amended' that Palmer rule and everyone was referring to it as the Tom Brady rule the refs still failed to enforce it as players continued diving into Toms knees while he was attempting passes from inside the pocket...Not only did it cost him 1 of his 3 seasons with Randy Moss on his team his knee got badly infected after that surgery>>>there was a point where they thought an amputation could end up being required-it was Alex Guerrero who intervened and helped turn that infection battle around with his unconventional methods...he saved Bradys leg and career.
It is insulting to hear QBs being praised as better than their predecessors for averaging better stats during an era where the stats are clearly heavily inflated because the passing lanes have been opened wider than ever by the rule changes...In 2003 the yr before Polians pass interference illegal contact and defensive holding focal pt of emphasis was instituted leaguewide and b4 all the anti concussion and QB safety rules were instituted only 1 QB in the NFL threw for 4000yds in a season...Dan Marinos single season records of 48tds and 5000+yds in a single season hadnt been sniffed by anyone in almost 20yrs...Peyton immediately broke the TD record after they changed the rules in 2004 and both of those records(48tds&5000yds in a 16game season have now been topped by 3 or more different QBs, some of whom have done so with 1 of those 2 records multiple times each. In 2020 the last 16game season 15different QBs had 4000+yds in a season...Int totals and avgs are lower and passing yardage avgs/totals, completion%s are higher...
Brady and the Pats complained when the refs and/or the league didnt do their jobs correctly...Brady complained above all else when the refs refused to call PI/IC/Def holding after obvious violations that had prevented his teammates from catching his passes...Gronk gave a member of the Bills the peoples elbow on 1 occasion after the refs let him get away with about 3 different holding violations against gronk on 1 play.

@@dp233332answer me this why is it ok to spear halve backs and full backs? , but its not ok for Qbs or tight ends? If a football player cant take hits bellow the belt, they shouldn't b3 playing FOOTBALL!
Just like the NBA. Every damn 2 minutes there’s a foul, you breath on someone it’s a foul, you say something to the ref you’re ejected. The refs aren’t being held accountable for bad calls in both nfl and nba and it makes the situation much worse.
I agree with that. The NBA doesn’t want teams playing defense.
Flopping makes the reputation look worse.
Facts man… they need to find a middle ground in all these sports! Like the NBA, NHL, NFL of the 80s:90s/2000s they more or so just “let them play” and than we got to this point where they slowly tightened up but it’s tightening up so much in all the sports it’s making it a crappy un watchable flag/penalty happy type product and that’s NO good! They need a middle ground.
It was worse last year than it was this year. I think they looked a little better this year. I like offense but if it keeps ramping up that might be the braking point for me and I hope it doesn't get to that because this is the deepest the NBA has been in its history and I don't want the league to spoil that
People get on the refs for making these decisions but they only do what they’re told. Blame the people telling the refs what to do Adam Silver and Roger Goodell.
There should be no special protection for QBs if they are outside the pocket. Sick of seeing them pretending to run of bounds then kept going for 5-10 yards.
Agreed
It started with mahomes and now all the QBs are doing it
The Mahomes special.
That's literally Patrick mahomes
100% just saw that on Monday night.
100% agree, and the same thing goes for the NBA, it is UNBEARABLE to watch a majority of the time as bad offense and decision making is bailed out by whistles.
I can’t imagine how defensive players are supposed to perform in the NFL & NBA
Oh yea the NBA is definitely worse about this. You can't even graze someone's arm without getting a foul call or a tech but the players contribute(kyle lowry, Marcus smart...etc) to this nonsense with all the flopping. They have a rule now for flopping but it needs to be harsher.
NBA is trash
Oh god the nba is unwatchable 😂
NBA is a bunch of powerpuff girls
@@ThaBootyBandit I have to bring this up whenever someone talks about the NBA and foul calling. The NBA is averaging about 10 LESS fouls per game than they did the 80's and 90's, on FAR, FAR more attempts. The reality is players have to work harder to get foul calls, and as a result they look like they are flopping. There are problems with the NBA, for certain, but it has little to do with shooting fouls.
Imagine all the penalty calls on the ‘85 Bears today. Especially Wilber Marshall knocking out the Detroit Lions QB.

As a fan, I would get hyped up when the game starts at the kickoff. I loved watching kicks being returned. The kickoff being moved to the 35 yard line increased touchbacks. Its such a game downer.
I think the main thing is they don't practice like they used to. As unoriginal as it sounds, those reps are so important at full speed and now it's half pads and walk throughs
100% Correct 👍
I think the rationale is most players are finished products by the time they get to the nfl so all practice does is risk unnecessary injury.
@@undercoveratthat’s the rationale but the reality is it’s complacency, lack of work ethic, toughness and humility.
@@undercoverat I would totally disagree. Guys & coaches are constantly perfecting their craft. They've reduced full pad practices to avoid hitting as much for injuries and "player safety" (hits to the head, concussions)
Nah you can clearly tell teams don’t practice anymore
At some point, players will feel so protected by the rules and disregard lessons and habits for protecting themselves it will result in more sever injuries more often. Tom and Aaron are spot on.
Players are more coddled
Damn, he makes a really good point. Once you start regulating people think the rules can “protect” them… QB starts to play riskier.
I think the real reason is that they don't get so many practices in anymore. On offence you really need those reps. Less on defence imo although you obviously still want those aswell.
I think that’s why tackling seems like it’s so bad, if the only time you’re ever trying to hit a moving, scrambling target and overpower him to the ground is in a game, you probably aren’t going to be great at it.
The rules are only going to become more restrictive as time goes on, the real reason for this is to help protect the NFL in any current/future litigation.
Just too many players were getting concussion problems. I like seeing big hits as much as the next guy but not at the expense of players getting CTE.
Exactly, players only get health insurance for 5 years when they get out the league.
@@joemckim1183 nobody wants anyone to get cte for entertainment purposes but they are changing rules that have nothing to do with the head and sometimes these calls are made when the hit is impossible to avoid. Sometimes it's the wrs fault for the helmet hit but the defense gets the blame.

@@joemckim1183 The reality is that big hits haven’t really been linked to increased CTE its more about repetitive shaking of the brain. Thats why some of the worst cases have been found in lineman, a position that never is involved in big hits.
One of the themes I've seen are quarterbacks using the sideline and fighting for the extra yards and 1st down. You see defenders in what looks like they are being careful not to hit or give a light push to avoid a call, meanwhile the QB is able to fight for that 1st down and defenders are unable to stop that due to penalties and fines.
You also see defenders shy away from hitting guys heading out of bounds, which allows the ball carrier to pick up extra cheap yards.
Absolutely right….I would love to see someone give mahomes the hit Bledsoe got from Cox that put him out for the year
same with the late slides. supposed to be "slide to protect yourself", but now they push it to the 1st down marker and then slide right as the contact comes. They are short but get it anyway because they wait until the tackle is already in motion. Nah they deserve to be paid in full for doing that shiz.
Such a good point. This happened last night on the chiefs last drive against the packers. Patrick was still in bounds and took a clean hit on the sideline right next to the first down marker but they threw a penalty. Rules analysis said it shouldn’t have been a penalty but that doesn’t change the fact it got called and could’ve had a big impact on the game
True!
Watched some older nfl footage the other day and remembered what it was like. Yes it was way more explosive and impressive. Now it’s more like a martial art. Go through the motions to get the points.
Honestly, this is just another step in the "back in my day" ladder to nowhere. 10-20 years ago, older players were saying the same thing about the group of people complaining today. Same 30 years ago, 40, and so on as long as the game has been a legitimate sport. It's true that QBs should play smarter to limit exposure of their receivers but it's even more true that the fundamentals of football need to be defined and enforced. The fact is, players out there today are bigger, stronger, and faster than ever before. You can't expect the pre-2000 game to exist the today with those factors. Every sport evolves and football isn't an exception.
It's not so linear though. You can go beyond the pale. Today a lot of it is like flag football

I feel like another aspect of the whole intent thing that nobody seems to talk about is yes, there is intent to try and knock the ball out of the receivers hands as he's catching it to cause and incompletion, or to try and cause a fumble. He’s right. I had a conversation last month with someone and we both realize that we just don’t care as much about football as we used to. Brady’s comments outline why head injury rates and injury time from concussions have gone UP despite the myriad of rules put in place since CTE data has become available. It’s not because everyone got insanely faster and stronger over the past 15 years (lol), it’s because the rules put in place to protect players are being used to take advantage of the situation and putting those same players at risk.
The concussion rates aren’t going up because the terminator is out there murdering people, Sherlock; it’s because if you threw the ball to Irvin over the middle with Ronnie lurking 5 yards deep then Irvin was about to get murdered, and kick your ass in the locker room. Now, you make that throw.

100% agree. I also believe this has led to less fandom we as fans had with teams. Growing up, I was a die hard 49ers fan. Loved watching the games and I was intense and invested as a fan. As the league gets watered down and soft, I’ve lost that same fandom. Sure I still root for the 49ers but honestly no longer have emotion attached to wins and losses and could really care less about attending live games. The product on the field is just not engaging nor entertaining
thats because you grew up.
The old nfl was so slow and boring, terrible take.
Yeah, you don't love football. I couldn't fathom not having football or my podcast. It's a community of die-hard fans that know football is excellent. I agree with all of what Tom said, though
I feel you. Part of what makes football such a great sport is the physicality. but now that physicality is illegal. Football changed in a big way in a very short period of time. And it's a less exiciting product as a result.
@@MechanicalMeltdownsold NFL was not boring. It was the greatest game
There’s way too many times where Kermit should’ve got his head taken off but you can tell the defense is scared to hit him.
Attaching football helmet to the shoulder pads & shoulder pads strapped across the torso could:
¹)
Reduce the centrifugal-force experienced to the head from any direction on the football field.
²)
Might lessen speed of brain before hitting inside skull.
the rules and the habits is really critical. im working as an operrator in a climbing gym. and we have a rule that you belay with a device that can lock under tension on the rope. but when i was in training for the job i belayed with a non locking device, to build better belaying technique and habits. and i see at work some new climbers that learned to belay on locking devices, but they are not good at belaying, and doing some dangerous mistakes. my point is rules for safety are good and important, but they're efficient only with good habits and personal responsibility.
I blame all the rule changes
Blame the league sucking off Manning. The Pats owned Peyton in the playoffs and then the league changed the rules to protect him and the receivers who were getting demolished.
@geordiejones5618 it's specifically Colt's President (at the time) Bill Polian that whined about the Pats in 2003 and got that rule implemented the very next year. That organization sucks.
I have thought for about the last ten years now that the NFL was slowly evolving with all these rule changes in a way where it's going to end up being flag football with all the regulation. I appreciate Tom saying that and Aaron as well, because I do think that it is true with how its progressing, especially in the last several years. There needs to be a middle ground like Aaron said, otherwise it will absolutely be flag football in another 15 years. Nobody wants to watch that.
As to the quality of coaching and lack of player development, I believe this is an instance of the league suffering from its own success. The exposure of the game, the huge money that has came into the NFL over the last 2 decades has made a win-now culture so pervasive few owners are willing to put their faith in a coaching staff. Coaches that have their jobs on the line throw caution to the wind and toss undeveloped players into games for the sake of saving their own career. Especially at the quarterback position.
Great segment!
My favorite player growing up was Brian Dawkins. Seeing the hits they he made, made the game so much more exciting. Now almost evey one of those hits is illegal. They are taking a huge part of the game out of it. It will be flag football within a decade
Brady is a total badass. We're going to miss having him in the league
He was a whiney crybaby who cried every time a defender touched him. He's the reason QB's play flag football now.
@@d1grizzmahomes is actually the biggest baby every game he is crying looking at the reffs wanting flags..Brady took some hard hits and bounced right back up
@@bloconte2796 Bounced up whining like a little girl for a flag. Where do you think Mahomes learned it?
@@d1grizzyou have absolutely no clue what you’re even saying
@@d1grizzwhy wouldn’t he? Take advantage of the calls the league makes
There’s no way a reasonable person would argue Brady’s opinion. I moved to Indy in the late 90s and realize how spoiled we were. Peyton and then Luck. Now a backup quarterback. Luck wasn’t the same level as manning but it was fun to watch him shoot himself in the foot and often excel his way out of it. No panic or fear in the pocket. But it does seem over regulated. I’m not sure but seems like the nfl is trending toward altering the outcome of a game too late for teams to overcome. Part of the process I suppose
i was talking about this recently, tom mentioned the development of young players not being great. i believe the league is simply full of young players, who dont understand the game to the level a more seasoned player would. not only that i believe the game has changed to where strategy and football education has taken a back seat to athleticism.
They also get less coaching in college than they used to. So they arrive rawer AND the nfl rosters are younger
From what I'm seeing, many defensive players seem to have missed out on learning how to tackle, particularly in the open field. I was taught to always keep your eyes on the player's waist....belt buckle level and target that area with the shoulder. Trying to tackle with arms simply results breaks most of the time as backs and receivers are big, fast and strong. Fix this!
One thing I will say is that tackling is being taught differently now. When I was a kid (2010ish) we were taught to tackle shoulder to thigh with our head across the body. In highschool we were told that “new studies” showed this was in fact dangerous, and we were told to tackle with our head behind the body and to “gator roll”. This led to less concussions but more broken tackles and more missed tackles
I miss Tom Brady! The GOAT 🐐 speaking straight facts 🔥💯👊🏾
Your part of the problem
you’re*
I miss him too. Football doesn’t feel the same 💍💍💍💍💍💍🐐💯
I bet he could come back and take a team to the playoffs especially with all the QBs out right now
No doubt 😅 ♾️ 🐐
It's ironic that there are so many rules regarding the quarterback yet Rodgers, Burrow, Watson, and Cousins are all out.
Those pads on the 80's were HUGE!!!!! More protection
DBut is the man. Always with the great questions and insights
WaCHEETAH
Both are correct. Aaron is great and Tom's insight is refreshing
I worked for one of the team doctors for the Arizona Cardinals about 6 years ago. The philosophy changed from training the guys for maximum explosive power to training them to not get hurt. The idea was the extra 1% of performance wasn’t worth the risks. The player was viewed as an investment asset that needed to be protected. A very ridiculous way to water down your team.
They're acting like they never threw hospital passes. It's really obnoxious when players who aren't currently dead from CTE keep whining about the "current state" of the NFL. Games are as entertaining as they've ever been and FAR SAFER than they've ever been.
This all comes down to The NFL as a whole and the fear of being sued over protecting players from major long-term injuries ( CTE ) and protecting their money makers ( faces of the NFL ) . I also think betting on games is a reason too; but that is a whole other topic I don't feel like getting into .
There's also the fact that parental concerns over the safety of the sport has resulted in a steady decline in youth football participation over the years. The NFL's emphasis on safety is also a big push to convince parents that they're mitigating the dangers of the game.
100% right. people like Zac Wilson, Daniel Jones and Mac Jones would not be starting QBs in the past with that many failed chances.
Thats because teams realise the best opportunity is putting money in the tean when the QB is young and cheap.
Actually they prob would be. Diff is they would be expected to sit first 2 yrs. Minimum.
NFL teams used to develop players instead of expecting them to be Vets in year 2/3. That's why there's really only like 10-12 good QBs now
I disagree about Mac. The Kid didn’t go to a good situation.
ive been saying it for a while. offenses arent really getting better, defenses are getting worse because they have to constantly change how they approach the game.
@thepatmcafeeshow
Steve Young said this on MNF probably 10 years ago. Talking about how young quarterbacks then, weren't protecting their guys. This was before the rule changes, but seems like it created the environment for the injuries that got the rules changed.
I agree with the rules preventing shots to the head but otherwise the rules have really handicapped defensive players. But instead of going back and changing things for the better, Roger Goodell is likely gonna look at the QB injuries and less scoring this year and get with the rules committee to make things even safer for the QBs and get scoring up again.
I agree with Tom 100% here. They are pacifying the game badly especially with the hitting the QB penalties. Basically it's now flag football with QB's and that's sad. QB's can do whatever they want even faking slides for petes sake! I firmly believe if a QB crosses the line of scrimmage they are now running backs and you get NO special treatment.
The biggest issue outside of the what tom and Aaron said is the CBA and restrictive practices the cut back in practice time is really impacting OL play acoross the board which fundamentally changes the game and is a key reason why defenses have any success with every rule going againts tgem
Combine that with the fact that we are also in a golden age of elite pass rushers
@@SatansBirdLawExpertHow come so many offensive linemen are still selected for sheer mass at the expense of quickness when highly agile D-Ends are now frequently running right passed them?
@@ryanjacobson2508 I don’t agree with that at all. Offensive linemen are required to be more athletic than ever. Clearly, you just made that up
Generally, I agree. Big hits being big hits is part of the game. However, I've noticed it seems like the number of late hits, or intentional should-to-helmet hit attempts have increased. Especially when defenses start to get frustrated.
Totally agree, my interest in the NFL has really tanked in the last few years
Listen. This comes down to one thing, I’f they did change the rules and let the boys play a little they would need to know a season in advance. Preparing for a couple big blows over the middle and some bigger shots would take a huge toll. I went from playing safety to middle lb in college I normally went low or ball I’m 6,1 so low or middle. it’s hard because the receiver tucks that’s when they get ya moving that zone. But ya you need to prep different from taking 5-10 hits a game too almost ever play giving or getting hit.
When Pat picked up that baseball bat, I thought he was going to smash up the microphone
Brady is SPOT ON! I mean, what else is new?!?! 🤣🤣🤣 That’s why he’s the GOAT!
That's why mahomes gets gifted wins. Can't even look at him without being flagged. Defenders can't defend either. That's why high pass yards are so overrated
Actually Mahomes is statistically one of the least protected by roughing the passer flags. Josh Allen is by far the most benefited from such penatlies in past 10 years.
@@kyle8442 lmao mahomes gets it when it matters. AFC championship. And then a superbowl just to make sure
Mahomes cries and points at the refs after every hit
Mahomes is the NFL’s#1 product they can gift him calls at crucial moments but can’t make his WR’s catch passes😂
@@renoraines6322 the end result is what matters. Sure the eagles won. But that's to make you doubt the chiefs. In the end. The NFLs golden boy will end up with another ring. That's how they sell him.
Aaron is dead on. The game is and has been slowly losing me over time.
You mean Brady
Then don’t watch it bud
The product isn’t a good product right now

Aaron hit it on the head, we're seeing MEDIOCRITY everywhere these days, and ALOT of us sometimes may think its just us getting old&bitter w reminiscing, but, in fact, things have gotten... "MiD" so to speak. Movies.. Sports.. Gaming.. Etc. Its not a "Bad thing" I think its just a sign of the times !!
P.S. - Im in my 20's
Rodgers is mediocre himself. All those yrs playing in a super soft NFC and only one SB appearance. Brady goes to NFC, SB first yr. 🤣
Don’t for get music to 😢
Ive bren watching football for 61 years. The rule changes are so ridiculous. I thought i knew the rules but every game its another BS call i never heard of
He aint lying about young players not getting developed. Not only do we expect some cats that were just in college the year before to have the poise, accuracy, and experience of a 10 year vet, but we will throw them in the trash if they take longer than a year to figure it out. I'm looking specifically at Washington. Terry McLarin is a beast, but they never developed in him a way to get open/break the bracketing on him. Chase Young (coming back from an major injury too) was given no time to refine his form, and no visible coaching on how to get better. Then because he was not the absolute best D Lineman that ever played the game, Washington threw him away for a 3rd round pick...
I heard that Young wanted out of Washington since the beginning of the year. That's the real reason he was out with a "stinger." He was looking for a way out. Could just be a rumor though. Now, in part for the reasons you mentioned, he's somewhat justified in wanting out. Can't blame him. That said, I can also understand "throwing him out" if they knew he wasn't going to come back anyways. Went to a great team in return so it works out either way. Otherwise I agree with you.
I also, however, feel like the severe lack for veterans on teams has a big part in limiting development too though. Like Young looked much better when Kerrigan was playing with him, then they throw out Kerrigan, Young has an off year, gets injured... comes back, Kerrigan's then coaching him, and Young starts looking significantly better again.
@@TurtletheShell yeah. Maybe he asked to get traded. I feel like Pat McAfee would have reported on something like that, though. He has really good sources. You would figure Del Rio and Rivera could have coached him up some. I think they both won Superbowls as players. Oh well.
The product has suffered. Brady is 100% correct, especially about the coaches and player developement. Don't even get me started on the penalties.
I agree. The coaches don’t care.
You can see why Brady's teammates always talk positive about him.
Big player contracts have just led to “investment protection”. This is not going to get better through interpretation….
I totally agree with AAron and Brady. I am so thankful I got to watch the 80s,90s,and start of the century until about 04. I loved the Hockey fights too, AAron
Remembering when these two were great QBs in their prime! They were so fun to watch! Father time catches up to everyone, unfortunately.
I mean, I'd bet if healthy, they are still both top 10 in the league even now

Rodgers wasn't top 10 years ago. He literally ruined his teams. He's the reason they lost most of there playoff games. And Brady always had an elite team.
that comment aaron made about throwing high and getting players injured, or “hospital balls”, is exactly what derek carr threw to olave knocking him out of game with concussion
Rules also made it so much easier for some quarterbacks to put up more touchdown and yards in today nfl like they don’t have to work for it anymore because defense are holding back majority of their momentum tackling a receiver or penalty that would be penalties few years back
u sound drunk asf. it’s a more passing league now
I have seen multiple times where the defense literally avoids a running QB who then gets another 20-30 yards. So many times this season QBs who are running are just avoided because they fear the penalties
Or when the QB pump fakes to stop the linebacker running at them
@@evandavid9087that's not the same. Pump fake had always been used to fool the defense.
@@evandavid9087That’s the LB Fault then 🤣.
I DON'T disagree with Brady/Rodgers, but his knee injury is what was, in my opinion, was the beginning of the turning point to where we are today (Not blaming Brady the person). But I remember getting frustrated watching games where he was overly protected, and now it's the rest of the offensive players in the league. It is seemingly part of a strategy to get a roughing passer or targeting rather than drawing a play to make a catch or run for a 1st down.
Getting a lot of special treatment
True that
Player safety concerns always seem to triumph when it helps the passing game
There are certain hits I agree with the rules on. But a soft tackle on a quarterback can get a penalty now! I agree with helmet to helmet after a catch. Not necessarily when a receive or a runner has possession of the ball and running with the ball.
