I hope the Lions win the superbowl so that a movie gets made just so Ryan Gosling can play Jared Goff

I really like the guy, but i gotta be honest i just feel like every time i hear him talk on the Lions he sounds like hes trying to give some hollywood motivational speech about them.
Maybe its just his natural speaking inflection idk, but its the one thing i find annoying. haha Otherwise top notch guy, was happy for him and Lions fans seeing them do so well in the playoffs
Theyve certainly waited long enough for this caliber of team
Best medicine in the world to stick it to McVay for letting you go. And…You landed in a place where they truly appreciate you too…even better! Way to go Goff!
Congrats Jared Goff and Lions. Building one heck of a team!
Theyre already had that team built. theyre keeping the team together while overpaying greatly imo. Every team nearly does this "oh we want to keep our talent! but the talent is asking to be the highest paid without being the "best" goff is not a top 10 Qb he just isnt and paid THAT MUCH? homie won a divison without 3 qb's in it lets fking RELAX LOL, imagine if kirk was there aaron rodgers and caleb, can you really say he is better than all of them? Same old lions.
@@TheOneAndOnlyVaYnE Horrific take that demonstrates your clear lack of knowledge on how salary caps work. Lions didn't have a choice but to pay their 3 core guys the amount they did because of A) how much other teams paid their own core guys and/or B) how much the other teams *will* pay their own guys when it's their time to extend their contract in the near future. Lions were actually very smart paying their guys right now, because if they waited any longer and waited until other teams paid their guys, Lions would have had to pay their guys even more. Salary caps also always go up, and in 2-3 years you'll look back at what Goff got and think it's very reasonable when other QB's like Dak for example who get 60-65+ million/year deals.
The more Ty keeps saying he's not worried, the more I think he's coping.
It’s a total cope. He’s banking on that the way things have been for thirty years is going to stay the same. I think he’s got a rude awakening coming through most of this decade.
The Packers are a solid team that will have good seasons and probably season split a lot with the Lions but I’m sorry, the Lions overall roster is way more talented than the Packers and they finally have good ownership, a smart front office and a coach that actually created an identity and team culture. Last season wasn’t a fluke, it was ahead of schedule.
It’s a hard cope for Ty.
I'm a bears fan. If i was a packers fan, I wouldn't be worried about the lions having to settle on giving goff big time money. That caps your teams potential.
@@davidsuch8942 he only taking 18% of the cap, lol. It’s not capping anything. Holmes has also proven he can draft good players in later rounds.
The NFC north is in big cope mode and I love it. You’re just all banking on the Lions to be the same old Lions and it’s not going to happen for a while.
@@Kravis63 uh, yeah, solid but not great qbs do cap the potential of your team. They're easily the most important player on the field. This isnt complicated. This happens to teams all the time in the nfl.

Stafford Goff trade gotta be one of the best trades oat for both teams
How is winning a Super Bowl in any world compared to going to a nfc championship game?
Until the Lions win the Super Bowl, there’s no comparative.
@@thomaswatkins3686 You aren't considering the context of what Lions have got and what this past season actually means for the team and our future. Lions got a competent Pro-Bowl QB, 2 Pro-Bowl offensive weapons (both rookies and 1 of them was 2nd team All-Pro too), 1 electric WR with Pro-Bowl potential, and without them they wouldn't have gotten 2 Playoff wins in a single season after 30 years of 0 Playoff wins, and an offense that will keep Lions are perennial contenders as long as health is good. Every single Lions fan including myself thinks it's a massive win for Detroit. Everyone of us loved Stafford but 100% of us would do this trade again every time
@@jsandlerso you going to max huthinson, la porta and possibly Gibbs when they are up to?

Considering how far they came and the team they built, Lions can possibly make it to a SB. Jared Goff just had to clean some things up but I still think he's a good QB. Glad to see how he and the Lions have come
I think Goff is an example of how important the pieces around you are.
Det getting Sewell was the biggest piece IMO. You got that dominant OT to go with Decker, Ragnow...then some WR threats.
Goff was always a good QB. I'm happy for him..but the Lions changed because they started building SMARTER IMO. MCDC...I was wrong about him also. Culture changer.
Same, its been great seeing Goff come
Goff had a stretch of ten games from the end of the 22 season through the beginning of last season where he was playing some of the best football anyone has ever played. He doesn’t make the flashy throws like Mahomes or have the rushing ability of Lamar, but Goff is easily a top 10 QB in this league and has a fantastic supporting cast not only on the team, but throughout the entire Lions organization as a whole
@@scourge8097nah. The rams made it to the SB with Goff. Goff that year was a menace. He just had the misfortune of facing the goat
Without kupp and 1 legged gurley
Love that guy! Go JG!
Was a little surprised Pat & the boys didn't mention Hendon Hooker whom they featured pre draft last season
Hooker has the potential to be great
Goff really didnt have a hand in that 49ers collapse it was Dan Campbell not kicking a 35 yrd field goal! Josh Reynolds dropping 2 passes back up db botched int for a ajuk catch and a gibs fumble otherwise they go to the superbowl and probably win because they had kc number
So when you argue it’s
Goff was responsible for all the winning
Goff was absolved for all the losing
Good way to never give a balanced look. You do you,
Mahomes woulda found a way to win
Typical of a Lions fan to defend their losses.
Had Goff in my dynasty league since he was a rookie, probably the only player that I’ve started every week. Him and cooper kupp won me a lot of money when they made their Super Bowl run. He deserves it

Pat's garuntee money coment got me. Go Goff, go Lions.
They need to play for a purse. Win purse and a losers purse. Then more guys will play to win. Not just play for a check. It would change the league.
This has got to be one of the top win won trades ever in the history of the NFL. I love to see top 10 win-win trades
Yea only for the the RAM. Waiting for the LION to win a Super Bowl with GOFF. And the draft pick….TO BE DETERMINE…
@jefflee1809 considering Stafford asked to be traded. I think the lions have done pretty well. They took 3 draft pick and made them 5 picks, including Gibbs and LaPorta. Jury's still put on Williams
There’s no win win.
The lions can go to the NFC Championship 5 times and if they don’t win a Super Bowl the record book will always read
Lions Super Bowl wins after trading away Matt Stafford: 0
Rams Super Bowl wins after trading for Matt Stafford: 1
@@mrbilly9917 their is not much to say it’s super bowl or nothing because I can have 10 first round pick with Goff for the ram trade but if they don’t win a super bowl does it really matter if you have those 10 first round pick, hypothetically. I don’t want to hear ya blaming it’s the GM or coaches if anything go wrong with this big of a hype for them NOW!
I completely disagree. Even if the Lions don’t win a Super Bowl and instead are even a somewhat consistent playoff presence for multiple years that is far more than they would have had with Stafford and no extra picks. Both teams got better from the trade. It’s absolutely a win/win.
If the Lions win a Super Bowl with Goff it becomes likely the best trade of all time.
Interesting how similar those stats were since the trade. I remember thinking stats wise, the beginning of both of their careers was kinda similar too and I wondered at the time if Jared would grow into being just as viable as Matt. Seems like the Rams put too much emphasis on that SB loss to the Pats and that pushed them over the edge on wanting him out of town. Reminds me of when the Vikes cut their rookie kicker Carlson because he missed a bunch of kicks at the beginning of the season and cost them a rivalry win in GB, which Spielman says was his greatest regret as GM. Public opinion loves gut decisions based on small sample sizes in the moment, but hindsight has never had to wear glasses to date.
Foxy v Ty is going to be great this upcoming season.
Jared Goff Jared Goff
Not a Lions or Rams fan, but can't think of a QB that deserved it more. People don't realize how incredibly hard it was to do what Goff did. High prospect, given up on, looked at as a bust across the NFL, sent to a franchise that has been the NFL graveyard. The deck was completely stacked against him. To do what he did is a once in a decade kind of turn around.
Spot on! People are allergic to giving credit if it doesn’t positively impact themselves. Everyone is so miserable and just wants to spread the misery. You have a great attitude being an objective but passionate sports fan is the only way to do it 💯
Hope your team does well this year! (Unless it’s the Fudge Packers lol)

@@timothytouhey8682why you respond that way?😅
😂 jared goff is what he is. He's been in the league several years. Some of you seem nfl stupid
Love had half a season. Teams have him scouted now. The Thanksgiving day game was the springboard for the Lion's season. They played the worst game of the year that day. It was also their fourth game in 14 days.
Jared Goff had ABSOLUTELY NOBODY TO THROW TO DURING HIS first year. Being a 4th round draft pick it took Wide Receiver Amon Ra St Brown half his rookie season to get on the field waiting for other Wide receivers to be benched or injured to get PRACTICE TIME let alone GAME TIME. Look up other wide receivers and tell me there was a starting wr that year other than 4th rounder St Brown. He started late in the year and we started winning games. Goffs rookie year he had no offensive line due to injuries but they drafted not 1 but 2 future All-Pros in Sewell and St Brown. It took a year for Goff to get on a roll and another half year for the Lions defense to do their part as well.
Hockenson, St Brown and Swift. Not amazing but not terrible.
@@freedomthefreeman487Hock and Swift both had injury concerns basically that whole year. Kept each of them out for multiple games and kept their usage way down in others. ARSB didn’t truly piece it together until about week 13.
@@charsiniganhoodish I understand what you’re saying but those were the weapons and not bad ones. Swift was never really leaned on in Detroit either. He was banged up a lot but would play usually not just that one season. Im not a huge Swift fan but that’s the truth. Hockenson is a Top 5 Tight End in the NFL. Didn’t Brady efficiently run an offense consisting of David Patten and Troy Brown as his weapons? Both I think under 6’. Nobody would say they were superstar weapons. But elite QBs can elevate average talent. Goff isn’t quite that. He doesn’t have as strong of an arm as Brady and can’t utilize deep threats the way Brady can. If any bit of the timing of the route is off by the receiver Goff tends to struggle on improvised throws especially deep. Hence his struggles with JAMO. Im happy for a great season though and excited yet nervous for the future.
Bears fan here … but completely happy for the Lions ascent.
Thank you sir, your bears are also making an ascent. The NFC North is going to be nothing but 🔥 for the next 5 years!

Man, that one packers fan on the panel, was PISSSED about he Lions lmao
$60 million per year? That's insane! I get that the QB position is the most important position in football. But it's a team game. Overpaying at one position means the team will be underpaying at all the other positions. It's as simple as that. Goff is a pretty good quarterback and certainly deserves to be paid well. But 23 percent of the total of all the salaries foe a 55 player roster? It is far more likely that this move will hamstring the rest of the team than put the Lions in a Super Bowl.
Ty has come a long way on Jordan Love since draft night a few years ago! 😂
Why do you think Ford was so tough during the union strike. The Ford family knew they were gonna have to pay out this money. 😂😂
The negative knock on JG is he’s not a complete skill and physical do everything QB. Maybe no. But. He communicates to the OC BJ what works and they set the team up for success by finding what plays work best for the team AND compliment JG’s skills….it’s a winning combo. Deal with it haters. One Pride.
Lions fan here. When JG got here I was willing to give him a chance. About 10 games in, I was ready to run him out of town. Then Ben Johnson took over and something clicked. It's been awesome watching Goff kick azz.
The QB market has gone insane

I hate myself for piling on Jared Goff the year after his trade, he has really proved myself and all the doubters in Detroit wrong. The most impressive part is he did it through his play and not off the field antics like someone in his spot could’ve easily done

They went over the threshold for qb salary %. Teams that pay their qb over the threshold don’t win. Thats how they came up with the number. So they won’t win lol
As a kid growing up on the west coast of Michigan most people were bears fans, coming off the good years in the 80s and they would claim Chicago is closer than Detroit. But I have always been a Lions fan catching crap from bears and packers fans in the area and now I feel like I have been helping shovel the coal into engine of this tank that everyone is trying to jump on now. But don't worry cuz there is room for everyone on this hype train as long as you cut out that "same old lions" attitude

They had one good year and now all the sudden they are a team to watch out for? Nope, they overpaid for Goff by a lot, its going to hurt them long term because they can't afford to keep all their players. Paying for one WWR and one Offensive linemen is not going to be enough. They are lucky they are in a weak division.

Goff has improved, I'd say. He's a guy who definitely needed some time to bake and get into his prime. But he's not going to carry a franchise. His previous contract was pretty good for the lions. It was ridiculous at the time he signed it, but in today's market Goff was pretty reasonably priced. Now he's right up there with the top of the market at 53/yr AAV....you can't win with Goff at top QB money. You can win with Goff at middle priced QB money
Everything EVERYTHING in Detroit is thanks to Shelia.
Thank God I will never pay for a seat or network feed for the NFL again. Who pays for these contracts?
Goff has now turned 2 horrible franchises into winners, and he survived a season with coach Jeff Fisher. He deserves the payday. I kinda think the Rams did him dirty in my opinion. They gave him a big contract, but they moved off him too soon.
Really looking forward to the packers finishing 3rd in the division lol
If the Lions play how they are capable of, Going to be a lot of NFC North division championship and NFC Championship banners hanging in Ford Field in the next few years. Lombardi needs to come to Detroit that's just what needs to happen . 444 million investment for their core offensive players You're getting paid now go get your RING.
N ppl wanna say Daniel Jones’s contract is bad 😂
Here is the difference between say Jared and Dak and what Dak deserves in his next contract. Jared is a guy that seems to be a leader of the team that his team mates want to play for and want to play well for, and they are united in that desire. Dak plays in a team which seems to be made up of players who are in it for themselves, and so the players when the going gets tough, do not seem to have the same level of desire to put the effort in for their leader. I think people who have not been in a locker room environment underestimate this element to the success of an NFL team, and when you find it, as a GM you need to do everything within your powers to ensure its continuation.
I didnt know 29 to 22 was considered an ass beating typical packers fans.
In two years this will be an average contract.
