To get the most out of your Vicks Warm Mist Humidifier, follow these helpful steps.
Make sure your humidifier is on a firm, level, water resistant surface at least twelve inches from the wall.
To fill, lift the tank and remove the cap by turning counter clockwise.
Fill the water tank with cool water, secure the cap, and place it back on the base.
Make sure your humidifier is turned off before plugging it in.
To use with Vicks VapoSteam, add one tablespoon of the inhalant to the medicine cup.
To use Vicks VapoPads, open the scent pad door and insert the VapoPad. Up to two pads can be inserted.
Then shut the door.
Turn the power knob to the high or low setting and wait 3-4 minutes for visible mist to appear.
When your humidifier is out of water, the reset light will illuminate.
To reset, turn the humidifier off, refill the water tank and place it back on the base.
Wait five minutes, then turn the humidifier back on.
*humiditer We liked it **Fastly.Cool** so much in the basement, we bought a second one for the main level. The amount of moisture it pulls out of the air is astonishing.*
I added E Juice in this and now it is essentially one large box mod. I was able to successfully “hotbox” my mother’s living room within ONLY a matter of minutes. She later developed a horrible cough (unrelated), but honestly way better than anything I have been able to get at the local smoke shop. I also use this at my desk at work, and in the nursing home I work at. Have had a few complaints, but it’s not like they will be around that much longer, so who really cares? Anyways 10/10 product, planning on purchasing another.

Right! I have been watching for an hour now and it works great so we shall see. Hopefully it wont break down like others did. Low feature seems to be too low but all good other than that.

I had the V750V1 model and it lasted 6 years. I think it was long enough I never had a complaint or a problem. I feel like it wasn't hot enough anymore but it was 6 years. It really came out very good and effective, I used it every time my children had a cold as it helps them too much. It also helps you sleep peacefully. It makes you sleep so relaxed when you use the liquid or the pads, I think it is because of the smell of eucalyptus.
I was trying to find the same model but the store I went to did not have it in stock so I decided to buy something that was very similar and I found the model # VWM845 I have not used it yet I have children that means that in my house it cannot missing a humidifier from vicks.
Not sure why people are complaining I followed the instructions and mines works perfectly, helps me a lot with my cough 😷

Hi! I just bought this product. It works fine for around 10 minutes, and then the reset light turns on and the steam stops getting out. The deposit is full of water and the heating unit is clean (I've only used it for about half an hour since it got home). I need help

2. Refill and replace the Water Tank.

Mine does the same thing. I tried reaching out to them and they just say the same thing that they say to everybody. "Just reset it" well it just does the same thing 5 minutes later. So annoying when a company cant admit a bad product. Just bought it a few days ago from target. Going to try to return it. If not then there goes 40 bucks! Stay away from this product.
I have the same problem has everyone else , i just bought mine , i put little less than 4L in it , after filling it i waited for about 5 min before even turning it on , than 5 min worked fine and red light came , i read the manuel it was saying if the red light comes on , its because theres not enough water or need to clean the heating element . If its not working properly im returning it

Please wait 5 minutes, then turn the power ON. Please make sure the unit is plugged directly into a 120 V AC electrical outlet. take the water thing off and kinda slam in down .. and then you will hear a “steamy boil” if you don’t hear that steamy boil it’s not working ... and you need to pick the water thing up and kinda slam it in again 🤣 I know that sounds weird but..... it works ...

Is the one blue drop high or low? What about the 3? More is higher mist? I can't see a difference.
When I use the High setting, water leaks from everywhere. I had quite a mess the first morning I woke up. Water everywhere. Seems to work ok on Low setting.

@@mannygonzalez7987 Yes, you need to unplug it and keep it unplugged for like 5 minutes I think then plug it back in and turn it on. After that the only time you need to unplug it and wait 5-10 minutes is when it’s empty empty to the point the light comes back on. If not you don’t need to wait

Anyone else having a problem with the red indicator light coming on? I have reset the humidifier 3 times and all 3 times it has
made steam for about 5 minutes then just shuts off. Not the kind of quality I expected from a Vick’s product. My dad has had the same humidifier for years with no problems!

So disappointed. Just got this today. Really needed it. I turn it on and makes a little steam for about 3 minutes and then stops and the reset button comes back on. Must be a defective product as I see a lot of people in the comment section have the same trouble.

So, i just bought this, and i bought an essential oil with it too, but im just wondering where you put the drops of essential oil, or if you can even add essential oil
We will be happy to help you. At the top of the mist chimney, where the steam comes out, there is a small cup for medications and oils. This is where the essential oils can go. We strongly advise against mixing the essential oils into the water tank, as the oils can damage the tank and the base of the unit. Everyone bitches about this product. I've had mine 3 weeks now and absolutely no problems. I learned years and years ago that if you are getting no or very little steam your water is to hard, a very simple fix ADD SOME SALT TO YOUR WATER AND MIX WELL. More salt means more steam. Only draw back you will have to clean more often. I add a quarter teaspoon every refill and I clean mine weekly even though every 14 to 15 days would probably be fine but as I said I clean mine weekly because if you take care of it, it will take care of you. It's so simple but most people make the simplest thing hard.

If the unit is not producing output, we would recommend thoroughly cleaning the unit's heating element, as stated in the owners manual. It is advised to perform this cleaning once a week. No, I really think around the time you commented there may have been defects. I have two in storage, and two more of the shorter white one that just plugs in without a switch. They’re fine. I currently live out of air bnbs and bought a new one in December as my 4 are in storage. This one just doesn’t put out steam like my previous ones did. I’ve so far lived in 3 places since i bought it, same results from different water in different cities and states.
@@vickshumidifiersthermomete2655 As I stated, I clean mine weekly and after using it daily for the past 2 months I can't see nor am I able to tell where using salt has done absolutely no damage but by using salt it has increased the steam output.
@@alyserotten1241 I'm sorry for your results but I am probably 3 times older than you and I have lived in many different places over the years and I found out that over the past 40+ years that in any humidifiers and/or vaporizers that by adding salt HAS ALWAYS increased the amount of steam that the particular units that I have used over the many, many years that salt has always increased my steam output. I have lived in areas where it took 2 or more teaspoonfuls of salt per gallon of water to get satisfactory results but luckily where I live now a quarter teaspoon of salt per gallon works just fine. I just didn't think of this off the top of my head, I did alot of research years ago and I found out through alot of reading and researching and by trial and error that by adding salt to water will increase your steam output.
@@maniacpainkiller4085 yes I attempted to add salt to this one, it still isn’t working. The other versions have been better with salt. I also am an esthetician that uses facial steamers that would be DESTROYED by salt and water that isn’t distilled. Age doesn’t matter, I know how to work these things. I think there may have been a mess up on the assembly line because this one I bought around November/December has been faulty with various water sources and not even changing with salt

We will be happy to clarify this. The VapoSteam should only go in the Medicine Cup of this humidifier. You only need to add water to the tank, and it will use the water. The cooling chimney of the unit is made to allow the steam to cool down before leaving the unit so that it is not dangerously hot, as steam is, and is mostly incorporated into the air. As the steam is mostly incorporated by the time it leaves the unit, most of the steam will not be visible. You may see some steam leaving the top of the unit, but only close to the unit itself. I love it but the thing is it gets hot/warm on the side like where the power section is I hate to take it back it's a great size and since I've used it my breathing is better the mist is perfect and the Vicks solution do last at least 8hours or more I use one Vicks pad instead of two because just the liquid solution is great for me I also bought the lavender scent haven't used it yet so at this point I'm still using the sample pack 👍🏽🤧😷
Hello Adora. The side of the power unit (where the heating element is) will get warm as the heating element does heat up to boil the water. While the unit is on, it should not be moved or taken apart. That is why the manual states, if you need to move the unit, refill it, or clean it, first turn the unit off and wait 15-20 minutes for the heating element to cool down. Leaks too
Just bought mine today. Worked for 5 minutes and red light comes on. It has distilled water in it, it’s level, and plugged into its own outlet with nothing else plugged into that outlet. So frustrating. My son is sick and needs the humidity to help sleep easier.

Hey, I just got mine and it seems to work and all. But ( this may just be a selling issue more then a defect issue.. for instance how burgers look on menus compared to how it looks when you order it. ) but mine, even on the high setting doesn't make much visible steam. And nothing even close to as shown on this video. Is that just because of marketing or could there be an outstanding issue ?

You cannot see the steam on mine as well but the walls and windows get wet which means it is working. I think the dry air makes it hard to see the steam.

I bought my warm mist unit WVM845 last year. Worked fine at my desk at work. Brought it to my father to help with his congestion. Can get it to steam at all. No warmth coming from the coil area. I also tried all the troubleshooting ideas in the manual. No success. Hugely disappointed because now I must get another. These are expensive if they only last a year. 😒

I just bought a new one and started to use it tonight. However after about 2-5mins use, it has the red light on. It has full tank of water. I shut it off and lift the tank and did nothing and put it back on. Then wait for 5 mins and turn it back on, it had green light on and worked for another 2-5 mins, the red light was on again! I’ve tried this 3 times already. It’s so frustrating.
This is not what we expect with our humidifier. If the light is turning red that fast, there are two possible reasons. The first is that the unit is not level, and not enough water is making it to the heating chamber. We would make sure that the unit is on a flat and level surface to allow water to flow correctly to the heating chamber. The second reason is the unit may not be getting enough power. We would advise plugging this unit directly into an outlet or to try a different outlet. Hi when you turn the water tank upside down and place back on the stand where the springy bit is ...does water supoose to come out into the tray at the bottom

I put the vapor liquid inside the water... I hope that’s ok...? I also put it on the top little cup section because I feel like the cup section doesn’t evaporate all the Vick’s liquid vapor ... so I do both 🤷♀️
Hello Brittany. The VapoSteam liquid is not meant to be placed in the water of the unit, as it can damage some of the plastic in the tank. However, it is meant to go into the small medicine cup. It will not all evaporate, as the oil that holds the VapoSteam will remain as the medication is released into the air by the steam. Is it possible to over fill it or something? Because it was getting close to empty so I refilled it with lots of water as usual but it started leaking through the screws at the bottom! Is it defective? Will it still work?

I bought this a week ago. I had a 2L humidifier before which I bought from Amazon. That 2L humidifier had double the steam than this one. This 3.8L one is not even enough to humidify a medium size room where as my 2L did a pretty good job. That 2L when filled full, would last for 10-11 hrs where as this 3.8L would last only 9 hrs. I cannot return this product to the store since I used it.

they don't want that........it likely goops up the system. Has to go in that indentation in the plastic. I am really pissed at Vicks.....for not handling this issue, with refunds or replacements ; not with talks and suggestions how to clean it......

Ever since I cleaned it, it will turn on with a green light and make a steam for like 3 minutes and then it will just shut off and have a red light even though the tank is full. After turning off, unplugging, plugging back in and turning back on the green light will come back on and it will work for 3 minutes and then shut off again. I read the Manual I did not see anything regarding salt adding to the water. Do we have to add salt to the water tank in this Model? We do not advise using anything other than cool water and Protec Cleaning Cartridges in the water tank. Using Vodka could damage the unit, and we cannot guarantee what will happen if you use Vodka rather than water.

I did it and it did not cause any issues., I been with horrible flu symotoms, but I encourage you not to smell it directly. Smelling fresh lemon, and heating water and adding eucaliptus essential oil has helped alot. Hooe this helps you

I love Vicks rub. But i been through 5 machines already and none are working. I have tried everything. Follow the instructions but nothing. it's chemicals, it's likely to cause some irritation if inhaled directly. If the irritation persists after 72ish hours, maybe seek a medical professional. in the mean time, just drink some tea or have some soup. you should be fine.

Can you use the VapoSteam and VapoPads together?
Hi Joanna, Yes, you can use the VapoSteam and VapoPads at the same time. The VapoSteam should be poured into the medicine cup and the VapoPads will be placed inside the Scent Pad Door.
Is it safe to leave it on during the night, when I am asleep?
I bought this for my cat because her nose has been runny for a few days. I was going to let it run as long as I can, but I feel worried about leaving it unattended. (To clarify, I am not worried about my cat knocking it over. I just don't know how safe it is to let it run without supervision)
That is a valid concern. While we do not advise running the unit unsupervised, as it is boiling the water, it does have an automatic shut off that will turn the heating element off once the water level has fallen low enough as a safety feature. Additionally, the heating element will not turn back on if the water level is increased until the unit has been manually turned off and left to rest in the off position, so it will not accidentally turn back on. Does the vape always come out slow at first

Hello Marc. The steam will come out slowly to start, as the heating element has to boil the water, and it will not all start boiling at once. You will not see steam billow from this unit, as the cooling chamber prevents that by cooling the steam to a point that it is safe when it leaves the unit, making it mostly invisible to the naked eye. We will be happy to provide that. You can use distilled water in this unit if you want. This will reduce the amount of mineral buildup in the heating chamber.
