    My Sunbeam hot steam vaporizer is nearly 30 years old and it starts puffing out hot steam within 10-20 seconds after I plug it in. It shouldn't take that long to heat up, and you shouldn't need to add salt to it. I've never heard of that before. One thing to try is to fill the tank with hot tap water - no cold water, just hot. One thing I've done with my vaporizer over the years is after every 10-15 uses, I remove the plastic cylinder piece that attaches to the bottom of the vaporizer "head." Once that piece is removed, you'll see the metal heating elements, (my old Sunbeam has 2 metal "prongs".) It doesn't take long before those heating elements get get corroded and caked with calcium and corrosion, which is what prevents them from properly heating up. If they get corroded enough, sometimes they will fail to heat up at all. So that's where good old apple cider vinegar comes in! I place the heater elements of my vaporizer into a glass of raw apple cider vinegar, let it sit for about 5 hours. Do that, and those metal prongs will come out lookin' AND workin' like new!

    We have both so thank you so much for the comparison of the 2. My husband's mother bought him the warm vapo humidifier machine years ago but didn't really like how warm it made the room and I didn't know how to use it, so I bought him the cooling vapo humidifier machine. You can actually put in 2 pads in the cooling one. There is a lip for each side and you just insert the end with the pointed end in it vertically in the slots and close the door. We use 1 mainly because it's such a strong scent that for our smaller house, we don't need both. The only thing I wish I could change about it, is when you go to empty it out, there's still a bit of water in the bottom part of the machine, so you have to be careful emptying it. I've made the mistake about forgetting about that and have spilled water in the past.

    Exactly the review I was looking for. I had the cool mist one on the left but it’s stopped working after a year and had a lot of buildup. I’m going to Walmart to buy the warm vaporizer now after watching this

    I live in Fl, first I bought the warm mist. I didn’t like it, made the room hot, needed salt again and again to create steam. The exterior was getting hot so not good around toddlers. Then you need to remove the top part and submerge it in distilled vinegar. It gets moldy fast and seems hard to clean. BOTH can get 2 VapoPads, so not a difference in that part. I just bought the cool mist, love the cold air. I am not sure about its cleaning yet as it is new. Hope it helps. I def wouldn’t spend the $20 on the warm mist one...

    Your video has been the most informative video that I have seen so far. I just purchased the Equate version of the heated one and I will tell you that it does have an on and off switch. There is one thing that I did notice is that it is loud and it keeps tripping the breaker. As well it leaves black filings in the water while it sounds like it is sparking while the unit is on. It makes me feel like the thing is going to catch on fire in the middle of the night? I think I will be taking it back tomorrow??? I believe that the cool unite feels and sounds much safer.

    I bought a different brand of a coil type steam and it needed to be scrubbed every other day. The base would fill up with gunk floating in there which I assume was being mixed with the mist. Problem with that is besides being a nuisance is that when you clean it you can’t get water down in the air hole so you needed to use a tooth brush to scrub between every little crevice. Some places you couldn’t even get a brush in. Maybe this one is better, mine was a black cylinder from Home Depot but can’t remember the name

      I found this article talking about humidifiers and allergies: www.healthline.com/health/allergies/humidity-humidifiers#cautions
      But it does caution not to create so much moisture as to cause mold which would irritate any mold allergies.

    Hi, only question can you add oil aromatics?

    • @easyaspiehowtovideos
      @easyaspiehowtovideos  Před 4 lety +2

      Definitely not to the cool mist humidifiers. You might be able to add them to the cup area on top of the warm mist humidifier but I'm not for sure. There are some humidfiers that have a special place to add oils. Here is a link to my video review of a humidifier that has a specific place for oils: czcams.com/video/LDfdYiLK6D4/video.html

    For the warm steam can you put vicks if we don’t have vaposteam or kaz ????

  • @ridgewilliam3290
    @ridgewilliam3290 Před 4 lety +1

    I have a question, I was going to buy the regular vicks vaporizer but they only had the pediatric vicks vaporizer I'm 18 so the smell doesn't bother me, I put the vapor steam on the top thing I can not smell it hardly at all could I put some of the vapor steam directly into the water for more smell??

    • @easyaspiehowtovideos
      @easyaspiehowtovideos  Před 4 lety +3

      The instructions only OK putting in the top and not at all in the water. I'm not sure what the consequences of putting it the water would be but I do think it might get on the inside workings and cause it not to run as well.

    My son is 4 years old, is it safe to use the Warmsteam with the vaporpads?
    And does the Warmsteam need filter ? I can't find something that says filter free or if i need to change it

      I would call your pediatrician and see what his suggestion is. They should be able to tell you if it's ok and if so how much to use it :)

    We got our warm steam and it only worked once...do you know why it stopped working?

    • @easyaspiehowtovideos
      @easyaspiehowtovideos  Před 4 lety +3

      It may be defective but one thing you can try which can help it create steam is to add a pinch of salt to the water then wait 10 minutes. If it's still not creating steam in 10 minutes add another pinch of salt. Hopefully after doing this 2 or 3 times it will start creating steam.

    Great review! Im deciding on the 2 and not sure which one. Im thinking the warm mist due to mold possibly on the cool.
    I noticed the cool tho gives out much more steam.
    Which do you prefer best after having experienced? Thanks

      I like to use the warmsteam in the winter time because it warms up the room and I like to use the cool mist in the summer. They both work really well and it comes down to personal preference.

      I do find that the warmsteam raises the tempature in a small room by a degree or two which is why I like to use it in the winter time. The cool mist does make a room feel cooler which is why I like to use in the summer time :) Sorry it took me so long to respond! I hope this helps!

    I don't have any heatproof surfaces, does the vaporizer get hot? I read warm mist is better for killing germs.

    • @easyaspiehowtovideos
      @easyaspiehowtovideos  Před 4 lety +2

      The warm mist humidifier gets warm but I've never had any trouble about it getting so hot that it damages anything. The main concern is making sure that the moisture won't damage the surface.
