- Strength/Faith is one of the most powerful and versatile builds in Elden Ring. For the first of the hybrid build guides, I used two of the most overpowered weapons in the game to completely bully all the remembrance bosses. Here’s how to do it!

Something interesting about Alexander's quest, you can skip the oil pot stuff if you go straight to his mount gelmir location after radahn.

You can skip 99% of Alexander's quest. Meet him at the Radahn festival, exhaust dialogue before and after the festival. Speak to him in the Lava at gelmir, summon him for the fire giant, and he moves to his final location

I'm glad I stayed up to watch this right as it came out. Definitely my favorite so far. Going and fighting even the optional bosses was cool to see too.
And having the incantations as a back pocket tool was pretty neat. Definitely my favorite types of build.
The new format changes make it feel a lot more streamlined as well.

Quick tip: with a lot of these big Strength weapons, especially with Axe-talisman builds, the charged R2 does more damage than the riposte. So you can use the stagger as a chance to quickly heal, rebuff or whatever and then do a charged R2 instead for more damage than a riposte would do. This is a great time to use roped grease on a buffable weapon; faster ones can even get two attacks in afterwards before the boss gets up.

You can repeatedly farm Greyoll, so if you want to make the most of it don't follow this video. Pop the Golden Pickled Fowl-Foot item when it's around 20%, kill it and as soon as you do run back to the grace. The grace won't get rid of the item buff, and if you made it in time Greyoll should still be alive. Do it again for another 50k runes, rinse repeat.
If you have a bleed weapon to +4 or 5, with minimal arcane investment, you can get 2x quick farms out of one gold fowl foot. Speeeeed!

First impression is that I REALLY like the intro. Good work. Got the blood pumping :)
Used this for my first clear. Killed everything but Malenia without a summon (mostly wanted to just finish the game at that point, Mimic made it pretty easy), and Placi because I summoned Mimic on accident and beat him the only time that happened. Had him to about 10% three times before I did that. Was over leveled because I explored/collected nearly everything but really helped me learn the game. For Mohg I used Lord of Blood's Exultation in place of the Faith Talisman, but probably a wouldn't have mattered much.

Dude, thank you so much for this. I went faith/strength for my second play through and was hard stuck around level 50. Tried your setup and *holy shit* that damage is insane. One-shotted every thing that was annihilating me the day before.

Such a chill and well done video
A variant of this build was actually my first blind attempt on the game's release. I didn't use the Blasphemous Blade though because I didn't realize how strong it was until people started posting videos of flattening Malenia. I stuck with a high endurance knight with the Erdtree Shield and the Golden Halberd. The bonus was that most invaders who tried to guard break me couldn't because of the gigantic shield. One of my favourites, but I later transitioned to Treespear sicne trying to take massive swings with this weapon in small spaces ended up with me dying from the recoil of hitting a wall.

To be honest I like the setup more because I think it helps players who don’t know where things are on the map but for more experienced players like myself this setup feels a lot better but that’s just my experience with the game. I love seeing the individual pieces of the build being collected to be put together, kinda like collecting the dragon balls to summon shenron

On my first playthrough I used a strength/faith build using the golden order greatsword and the blasphemous blade.
Just started this build. Holy Formless Mother I love it. Very stat hungry on NG (I want to run 51 poise, and use greatshield with Miquellan Knight Sword as an addition), but oh my this is my first time using Golden Halberd and it is very strong. I'm a glass cannon about to reach Niall and Fire Giant with 30 HP, but this is big damage. My paladin's name is Morwen, and she's confident in her virtuous strength and holy faith, which does not waiver.

Very entertaining. I consider myself a below average gamer who somehow made it through Elden Ring as a mage (with lots of patiently studying the internet). Im now quite a way into my second playthrough with strength and faith and in Volcano Manner.

Also, praise the Erdtree for Alexander's quest. Well played. You can definitely skip the oil part section if you find him at Mt Gelmr. Plus if you summon him at the Fire Giant if you talk to him there before that battle which is kind of fun.

Lot of people complaining about the replayability of Elden Ring, but I find it actually very enjoyable setting up your build, before fighting all epic Bosses! The legacy dungeons are superfun too!

WOW That's exactly how i played my first playthrough Golden Halberd then switch to Blasphemous Blade! I remember when everyone had problems with Malenia and i killed her after 3rd try :D. The only problem is Fire Giant, wowww, i spend like 2 hours trying to beat him(i used Blasphemous Blade, i think with his fire resistances it was a bad idea)

i likely won't be as optimised as still a lot of exploring to do (i had the video going but scrolled down so i could see and skipped a lot of the end bits) but this is similar to my current character who just now is more block counter focused i think its time i work in some more faith as i started as confessor, will come back this video now and then to check it out for hints on what to do if i get stuck

Cool video, didn’t think you could leave the boss room after Elden Beast! But I gotta ask, why confessor over prophet? Is it better for stats, or does the drip make up for it?
I really want to see a INT/FAI build because I've never seen anyone do one especially as a guide
If you'd like to save Greyoll for shopping runes etc, you can hit the fowl foot, mount up and finish him off on horseback. Ride to the nearby site of grace and rest before he disappears to reset him. You wind up around 70k runes so I typically kill him off twice. Once for starter levels and once for some spending cash so I can buy the important items from the vendors I encounter at the start of the game.
The music used in the Mohg fight gives me mad studio ghibili and my childhood lmao
Ordovis greatsword got a massive buff. I made this one and added it to the mix.

Taker's Flame was the best weapon I ever had until I met Malenia. There, I transitioned to Guts Greatsword with Giant's Hunt AOW and cheese all the end game bosses with the help of Mimic summon.

Awesome guide dude. I am a complete noob to the series. Is it viable to put prayerful strike on the halbert when i get it? Seen somebody use it on great stars , and it looked awesome. He got some great heals on it. And as i said im new so any healing would be great for me. And the ash of war thats on the halbert you get as an incantation if im right. Thanks in advance, and keep the content coming.

I've been getting really annoyed with this game but this build has helped so much thank you!
this is my second character. she's a colossal greatsword wielding, giant hunting/lions clawing flamegrant+goldenvow+black flame protec+lords divine protect lass with a silky dress on and no poise LMAO. 60 STR, 35 FTH, 50 VIG at 150. also with some points into mind because i do some spells here and there. the buffs in particular take a lot of FP. i need the FP because i resort to the weapon art to stagger bosses like malenia and mohg. Malenia i crouch poked phase 1 and did lions claw for 2-3 staggers. Phase 2 more of a trade and dodge, run away then lions claw.

how do you meet the reqs. for 'Golden Vow' (25) by consuming the physick (strength and cracked tears) if you have only 15 Faith? It does not work for me, am I missing something?
Super cool build, great video and tons of fun watching it. However... The problem with these types of guides is, you essentially are just completing the game at a weird pace to get all these upgrades. You are sequence breaking a bit (maybe not the right term with ER) to get all this.

Agreed. But really, you don't have to follow the video 1:1. I used it to get started and past some of the "early grind" and now am following along at my own pace. While also messing around with other weapons and stuff. I'm not exactly into the sprinting through sections.
Golden Vow can be much easier picked up in Limgrave from a mounted knight near the Limgrave Coliseum

Missed out on the Alexander quest after following the first guide
If you want to wrap in more spell casting in this build, leave your Str at 60 and start scaling up Faith more, get some memory stones to get Ancient Dragon's Lightning to one shot bosses like Elden Beast. Taking this build into NG+ you can run around with Black Blade Spell and Maliketh's Black Blade. The two procs of Death stack with each other, making it on of the strongest combos in the game. That's mostly for NG+ though
Have a level 145 str/fth build 54 str 31 fth. Using ordovis gs and spear, blasphemous blade but I also have night cavalry halberd,great mace and omen killer axes. I like to have some versatility with some pure physical weapons. Probably the most fun build I've done

Which tears are using before margit because you said use the spike cracked tear and strength tear in the video but if I use those I won’t get the faith boost and cant use golden vow, so which ones should I be using?
Do you also cast the Golden Vow Ash of War on the Golden Halibard? Or do you use another ash?

What music did you use for the intro? It sounds really good
It’s hard to recommend this as an “OP” build, but if you ever consider a Fists video;
Barbaric Roar + Roar Talisman + Highland Axe (off hand) + Axe Talisman + Spiked Crystal Tear (and Blue Dancer for good measure). I personally haven’t tried this combo, but they should all work together.
People coming from Dark Souls think fists are all about the light attack spam. But fist weapons have a very quick charged R2, and Barbaric Roar changes it to a 3 hit combo with a slight walk forward.
There are other AoW for fists that might be better in certain situations. Claw Talisman for jumping attacks. Flame of the Redmanes for poise bullying and and dealing with lots of trash mobs. Lifehunt Steal for the fun of it. But the above combo seems to be the most you can stack anything, on top of the usual spell or grease buffs.
Yeah, give it a few months and I’m sure these guides will descend into challenge builds, so a fist run will almost certainly be on the cards in the future. That set up sounds pretty good! Thanks for posting!
Tip for greyoll if you need/want more runes. Activate the grace at the fort before attacking him. Stay as close to the grace while attacking greyoll. When he's about to die, hop on torrent and attack till he's dead and book it to the grace and rest at it. You should get 50k runes and greyoll will still be to repeat as many times as you like.
i think they fixed it recently, i've never been able to proc this
It's not patched, as soon as his tail twitches boogie back to the grace and rest

Kinda hard to find some of the places like the ruins where the axe talisman is etc if you're new 😕, a way point on the map would really help newbies understand where you're talking about. Other than that, Great video!

I know in the title of the video it says no summons but if you are struggling at all please for the love of everything good and holy get the mimic tear I cannot stress enough how much this helped me through fights especially Malenia.
