I love how you highlight and explain the mistakes you made, so that others can learn from them. A very well put together video. Very helpful, thank you.
I love your candor and attention to details. This is one of the most helpful vids on YT.
Very helpful, my bathroom floor is dated and your diy discussion will help me. Thank you
Well you have done a great job and thanks for the update!
Thank you Keith
Thanks for sharing!!! Looks awesome!!!
fabulous!
Thanks!
Looks great! If you replace the sconces for something more updated would be a HUGE improvement and not cost you much! You could find a more stylish mirror as well! Tip from an interior designer!😉
great video and beautiful result!
Great presentation. Thank you for your time and effort to make this video and share your knowledge and experience with us. Greetings from Croatia.
Thank you for taking your time to leave a comment🤗
I think this is really nice & a good idea ❤
Thank you for doing an update video! Please do another one after a couple of years!
THANK YOU for posting this.
We just bought a place with tile like your old one and were wondering what to do. We didn't think about looking into this but it is a great idea.
We did something similar in our old bathroom. I personally love the way it turned out with the black and white. We only did the bathroom walll, not the rest. We did have to coat it twice because it was stone not tile. The second time, we used a 'spa paint' that would hold up better against the water.
thank you for sharing your experience. how much satisfied are you about the result on your bathroom?
Yes, still looking good! I was going to ask about the kind of cleanser you were using on the paint? But you said the surface basically stays clean 🙂. There seems to be just small minuscule issues so overall it’s definitely worth doing!!!
Absolutely Shelley! One of my best DIY decision🥰
Thanks for putting this video together, it is very helpful. Do you use any limescale remover on the painted tiles?
So glad its helpful☺️ I haven’t used any kind of product except liquid soap or dish detergent so far since there had been no need.
Is there a way for mate tile, to transform into gloss one? Tia for your response
Amazing work! I will try to follow your steps and redo our old bathroom. :)
You can do it!
hello Maria :) iam also thinking of a project similar to Tuba’s.. can you share the results with us when you complete your bathroom?
Don’t you get mold or soap scum and hard water around the tub and shower area? That would be my concern because that stuff needs to be scrubbed or use chemicals. Even vinegar degrade the paint.
Is step 1 just a base paint that you paint regular paint over then seal? Or did you skip step 1 because you wanted a color? I want to use the kits for painting tile but they never come in colors so not sure what paint to use.
I WISH I had even her old tiles. Our bathrooms are baby PINK and baby blue 🤣
My bathroom is also baby pink! Had to have been a 70s thing. Currently in the process of painting EVERYTHING
Rose pink title with navy trim checking in 😂
Dose anyone know What is the best top coat to protect painted tiles? X
hi Tuba, you motivated me into doing this for my bathroom! how long did you wait until you started using your bathroom after finishing up the paint job?
I am glad to hear that Maria! I didnt wait long probably the next day! But I continue to use the bathroom during the paint job except the shower!
What kind of top coat did u use ? My shower walls need this. Those paints r for interior right ?
that’s the same question i would ask.. hope she can see this post
I wonder how the paint is doing in 3 yrs, 4 yrs, 5 yrs and so on. and if it could stay well with cleaning them.
I just saw someone that painted her tile it’s been 5 years there was some chipping but not much it still looked really good and clean
did it hold up
Boyarken Boyalarin kokulari nasildi Tuba hanim? Benim banyolarimda pencere yok o yuzden kokudan cekiniyorum biraz☺️🙏🏻
Biraz koku vardi ben boyacilarin kullandigi maskeden kullandim ayni zamanda da havalandirmayi hep acik tuttum..kolay gelsin🧿
This is for ceramic tiles, I think mine are vinal. Don't think it can work on mine.
I had my bathrooms professionally painted and it was a disaster. I had glossy tiles and the paint was glossy. They didn’t do a very good job. It started peeling months in and the mould started peeking through. I saved my money and got all three bathrooms demolished and done. Yes it was a headache and there was a mess, but I love them. Matt porcelain tiles are the best and good quality hardware. One year and a half in and looking after them, the bathrooms still look brand new. A combination of grey tiles, chrome hardware and timber look vanities to warm up the space, picture perfect.
Is it okay if I like the before better?
Sure! Why not!:)
Do you have an update
Like the colors however I would have painted the grout a different color
Hello Tuba, I am going to follow your directions and do the same in my bathroom. I have one question. What is the name of the color and paint company for the color of your bathroom door. Thank you in advance :)
Thank you Richey but unfortunately I dont remember the color! I even went back to the other video where I painted the door but no mentioning of the color sorry!
@@DIYWithTuba Hi Tuba,
Thank you for trying to help and responding. Have a great rest of the week 😊
Please can you say what type of paint? Water or oil ?
Most of them are water based nowadays
Teshekkor :)
Definitely looked better before
It went from gorgeous to mediocre.
Imo it went from dirty looking to fresh
Hi. I watched both of your videos. The original and this follow-up. Great videos! One thing I'm a little bit confused about is that I believe you said at one point you said that you skipped step one which looks like Rock Solid Rust-Oleum base coat. You said you used that other primer that said "Stix" on the can. Looking back are you saying that you think you should have used the base coat Rust-Oleum Rock Solid rather than the other primer that you used? Thank you very very much.
Great question! I am wondering the same thing. Stix is a great primer. I used it with Benjamin Moore Advanced Cabinet & Trim paint and it is outstanding which was recommended by the Benjamin Moore employee over the Benjamin Moore Advanced Primer if you could believe it.
