Who knew?! I am thrilled. We put some tile up in our kitchen. We just loved it. Then we got the granite countertop and we had been doing both without thinking and checking to see if they would match. (No excuses! I knew better.) I came home to our counter top install and cried. It looked so bad. So, now we are going to paint over the tile and I will finally be happy! Yay! Thank you!!!

Idk that she does, but I did my tile bathroom floors about two months ago- primed, two or three coats of behr kitchen and bath paint (the bathroom I did this in is pretty small, I used the small can), then did two coats of polycrylic over the top. They were a seriously tragic shade of poo brown before, and are now a 'silver sand' (that's what the paint can says! think warm light grey) that makes the whole room so much lighter. It's held up well so far. That said, I'm renting and don't plan to be here forever- if I did I'd have just redone the floors. Use a small paint roller (they're $1 at Walmart) and then a brush around the finer areas (along the edges, around and behind the toilet, etc). Imo this worked the best. And, like with anything else, tape first. And do NOT let anyone walk on your floor (EVEN IF IT IS DRY!) from the time that kilz coat goes down until that polycrylic is on top. It's gonna leave marks.

It's little more than twice my living room and has a very limited range of products, generally not more than one or maybe two varieties per product. How is that similar to the Dollar Tree? I very much doubt that in the Netherlands it's much bigger or more diverse. Not to mention that in Brussels, where I live, I'd have to travel to faraway, probably less secure parts of the city to get to one.

Stacie....did painting the floor tiles hold up well? I have an entire kitchen (very 1980s) that had beautiful cabinets but the countertops are tiled with very outdated colored tiles. I was wondering if it would hold up well if I did this because they would get alot of use when I cook. I worry about paint chipping off or wearing off; especially at our counter drop off areas!! I imagine floor tiles get some abuse, too! What do you use to clean it with so not to remove any finish from painting it? Curious! 😊

Beautiful!! We just moved into our new home on Friday and I’ve been looking up this very thing on Pinterest! Would this work in the shower or would we need something stronger?🤔

You can buy actual tile paint. People have used it in their showers.

I'm trying to recycle two dressers and I might give this chalk paint a try. One dresser will be a Barbie doll house, while the other may become a Lego high-rise. Your videos are great, and I'll be sure to rewatch all the chalk paint videos. CZcams is seriously lacking in dresser-to-doll house tutorials, so your videos help me piece together my ideas. American girl doll home from cube furniture video was very helpful. Thanks Kathryn!

But again.... great job and it looks great!

Try contact paper, it's way, way cheaper, wipeable, hardwearing & easy to reposition or remove. I used a beech effect one on ancient formica. £10.50 & it covered 2.5metres. Craft knife for cutting corners & round the sink.

I knew that you could paint tile. I did not know it would be better to do it the way you did it. I am so enticed to paint my tile. My problem is that the former owner put dings in the counter tile. I know that I can fill it in with automotive Bondo for wall tile, but do not know how it would work on counter tile. I think that I will try it and if it does not work, then I can just replace the tile. By doing it your method I would only have to replace the tile with the dings. I saved this video to my Home Repair playlist. Thank you for doing this video. I loved it.

Hi Kathryn, you can take used chairs, take off the back, turn them upside down, leave the legs on, use Annie Sloan chalk paint add a dog bed or cushion, put a canopy on the top of the legs and turn it into a fancy pet bed.
