Why do I have a feeling you I'll regret making some cuts before getting the replacement part.
Are you guys going with alot of carbon parts on the supra?
Medium amount, not as much as the GTR
I work residential HVAC. Refrigerant is non-toxic unless it goes through a flame which then makes fosgene gas. Otherwise it just displaces oxygen which is the only danger to it.
If you plan on doing a fmic in the future, you'll have to run an overflow from a 2006 civic and put it where the battery is
Just wanted to comment on the overall production and growth of your business guys. Well done. Great to see you moving out into a comfortable space while the main shop is built.
Also can't wait to see this jdm legend slide!
Quick way to test your ac charge is open the service port high side and push the schraeder valve quickly to see if it has any charge. That could have been bad. That stuff gets into your eyes you are going to the ER
just did a quick google search, I really hope he washed it well and aired the place.
Making good progress Chris 💪🏻
Love the series 🔥🔥
What he meant to say is that he most definitely evacuated the A/C system properly as to not vent into the atmosphere 😉
very cool progress, looking forward to what's next.
It’s good to have an Oscar !! You guys are great missed Kyle. The three amigos, lol. Thanks John from Arizona
We're all here somewhere, just the guys are working on boring engine stuff in the background, but thats about done! So we will be a team again shortly :)
Chris and team, I've been watching you guys since the beginning ... some of these cars deserve love like cleaning and detailing. Maybe cover the nice cars too? Like the GTR, Huracan, V10 240z, Aston, and when the Supra is finished.. mainly bc it is u guys' hardwork and sad to see them being neglected.
Great progress for sure. Broach drill bits is what I used to prefer to get off spot welds . Just keep them lubed
Can't wait to see that supra finished 😍🙌😁
Im so excited for this build.
Hell yeah brother! You can do it!!
I am so happy right now! I forgot the B is for build name so I couldnt watch these vids for a long time. I love B is for build!!! I am going to binge on all of the vids!
That Supra is going to be EPIC when Chris and Oscar are done with it.
Right now, that car doesn’t look simpli safe. 😂
That is the charm of this channel. Admit mistakes as well as the sucesses
Really enjoying this build. Also, Oscar looks like he's lost a but of timber, looks good!
Hey Chris, I love the videos dude!!! You, Oscar and Kyle are amazing and never cease to amaze me! I would love to see a video where you guys detail this car lol, idk why I’m obsessed with car detailing videos. I wish you and your team nothing but the best!
B is for build doesn't even wash their cars ;)
Every unwashed car comment is good for the algorithms.. do what ya do .. c is for chris
Awesome build were is Oscar can't wait to see the finished product 😀
Always find the AC ports and push the Schrader valve good way to find out if there’s anything in it never just guess and have it evacuated
👀 wip out the vacuum or something for that dust, other that that cool build and can’t wait to see the end result🤙🏼
Supra cool so much info thank you for this 👍
Just tuned into CZcams and BANG. New B is for Build video let's goooooo
These days I take most old things apart with a battery impact gun where possible. It's a lifesaver when it comes to snapping bolts because the impact usually breaks the corrosion seal long before the bolt would snap. I highly recommend the Milwaukee Fuel 12v right angled impact wrench.
New M12 ratchets coming in the fall with smaller heads and extended body
Plz keep these videos coming
Save all the parts till the end B is for Build. I ran into that with my Toyota Soarer I brought into the country years ago. The windshield cracked and the north American crossover windshield (Lexus SC300) didn't fit due to a cut out being on the other side of it to accommodate the steering column. That was a fun and expensive surprise!
Can't wait for the finish product
❤️ Oscar, what a skill machine
Part of me is sad to see Chris working alone and part of me is happy, brings back the good ol days when he used to work on his cars alone!
Neat trick to remove the broken bolts. I must remember that!
A tip for when you are trying to weld a nut to a broken bolt, use a reamer bit to clean the bolt and then weld a washer to the bolt because it is easier then weld the nut on.
love the build guys! I vote for F&F Orange!
Great workk
Untouchable 👍
Really excited to see what you do with this car bro especially power wise
The one thing I can't stand is that he never washes the builds he is working on. All that dust, grime and filth...
Lol really..
He does toward the end. No point in cleaning something you'll be working around/touching. If he paints it or wraps it, what's the point? I have ocd too, so it bothers me as well, but I get why he doesn't do it.
Not gunna lie, that also irks me. 😄 But I understand, it's going to get dirty again anyways, but still, I like working on a clean project.
They're just going to get dirty again.
Just a quick wash will do. Hose down that engine bay!
Just wondering, does it ever make sense to completely wash a car like this before you start working on it to get all that dirt and dust off of it?
I like to wash builds before I work on them, even just doing small things on cars I like to wash them first. You don’t get as dirty when you work on them, and when you start taking stuff off you can see where you need to clean while stuff is out that won’t be accessible once everything is put back together.
I wish Chriss would wash it! right now, on screen, the engine bay look like a grey mess. it would make a nicer video if it was shiny!
Theese Supra episodes remind me of old school B is for Build when it was just Chris going solo
I think we need a shop build out episode. Maybe some lifts, new flooring, air lines, some new toolchests etc.=
Did you check the fan bolts don't foul the pump when fitted back? They will stick through more now. Great progress BTW.
Love the fact Chris reads all the comments.. great build still like the one that got away, but I am watching and waiting for the redemption to continue
I automatically like B is For Build videos as soon as i click on them to help out the channel 🙂
world needs more people like you :p
@@BisforBuild I too am a content creator, albeit much much much smaller so I get it 😎
You really need to give that supra a Supera wash
i will i promise, i didnt know you guys cared so much!
These people are my Heroes, Oscar , Peter from LSC , the Car Wizard , VTuned , Chris Fix, and Chris .. Probably many more but these guys get special mention from me.
You don't have to set a punch a factory spot weld,, drill the center hole with a 1/8 drill bit, that's what that pin is in for the center of the spot weld drill bit, they so short like probably 2 in long double sided drill bits just for this reason,
I literally did the exact same thing when taking apart my AC system as some of the lines were mangled. Got blasted. Lol I am glad I am not the only one.
The ozone layer is not so glad.
@@lesjayco7785 Luckily it was not an R12 system, it was a newer car so the Ozone layer was not harmed thankfully.
Hey @B is for Build have you watched the Speed Academy response supra build? It's a great direction or base to use for building your own car.
Been there before Chris with an AC unit. Was prepping an old Focus for the IL Gambler, got a little too liberal with the cutting and removing stuff on the front end since it was also a front end total, and BAM, instant green facial. It sucked
When you weld the nut on most of the time it will just spin off and brake the nut. Weld a washer to the bolt first then weld the nut to the washer. It works 1st time every time.
You need to get bolt extractors man they're great
i thought my way was pretty quick!
Ayyye let’s gooo!
My boy, pleaseee give her a rinse love you
PSA you should always grind/wire wheel the galvanization off of a nut or bolt before putting a welder to it. Zinc fumes are toxic and are created when welding with galvanized steel.
Love the build but does anyone know what music he is using for his timelapses?
The way you described how you were going to do the build originally, I thought you were gonna do a full tear down on the car. Like sandblast the whole shell, seal it, pull the motor and trans and have it rebuilt type of thing.
lol u must be new
Would love to see a V12 supra build.
I dont know why but i really love the r34 wheels on the supra
What was the metal on metal grinding during the clutch/gear test?
This Gives New Meaning To
"The Dirty Work"
None of B's cars are cleaned... Ever.
Yo Chris! I bet your oncologist will have a bit to say about you huffing refrigerant.
Loving the restoration. Such a refreshing change from the normal "Let's cut that off and replace it with this scrap metal I had laying in the back garden for 12 years" approach.
Ahhhh yeeeeaaahhhhh! 😎
Damn, seeing that subaru in the background is nice, do you fancy a subaru build, i think it could be a great build. Maby a wrc theme
I don't know if you should mention that you evacuated frozen into the atmosphere, even as a mistake. LOL
Hey Chris! Been a fan for a while, but I really really wish you would finish old projects before starting new ones, mustang, boat, single seater to name a few.... jumpacon also not 100% finished
Have you met Tavarish??
He mentions in nearly every video that they're working on it / waiting for parts etc.
i feel like people forget that over the years we've finished like 30+ builds, yes there are a few hangin, boat is actively working on (showed it in many episodes), mustang is waiting on parts, single seater is scheduled but pretty far out. And i have my reasons for scheduling all this stuff the way it is. Its not easy, keeping the majority of people happy, its a hard balance and we try to do our best. Just know that in the long run, nothing will go unfinished.
You should buy Tavarish JDM body kit that he has laying around!
Love it
Hi Chris 😎
Good Progress so far. But pls can u clean the Engine Bay. Looks terrible
Yeess lets gooo💪💪💪
I love these videos but I couldn’t make it through to the end. You guys need to hire a full time cleaner. Just someone to keep cars and the workshop clean and organized. If I could I would come through from South Africa to do it for a month. It would be so satisfying.
A Fan clutch method that works is the air chisel.
Awesome
Ac systems usually have a Schrader valve you can use to see if the system is pressurized.
mine has one, i have no idea why im so used to them being broken i just opened it up right in front of my face... my eyes burned for hours after that
@@BisforBuild been there done that. My son and I were pulling the front clip off a truck the other day and I did the same as you. Impacted off the condenser line and poof dye and juice spraying all over the place. Lucky we weren't in the line of fire.
Hah man I did this once on my is300 with the AC still being pressurized, fogged out the garage lol. Funny how there are no CZcams videos of this happening anywhere or what to properly do to avoid it lol.
Chris weld a flat washer to the broken bolt first then weld the nut to the washer (much easier)
Does this A/C stuff taste worse then old Atf would be nice to know before it happens to me
We need AC to the face footage, don't hold out on us Chris!
Yes
Thoughts on a hellcat swap magnum
there is a DARE commercial opportunity here....huffing refrigerant isn't the way to go...
Any update on the yacht build ??
I think Oscar is getting extra healthy.
Boat updates? any?
As bad as it looks the head light support is easily repairable with just a little hammer work. And a bit of welding if there are cracks and tears
I thought you didn’t like right hand drive. That’s why you got rid of the rx7?
I dont like it, but i LOVE the supra so for now its just something ill have to deal with. Long term id love to swap it.
Sneaky wrx wagon in the shot, getting into some rally ?
dayum im early. LETS GOOOOOOO B IS FOR BUILD
Man I wish you'd wash car's before working on them
What are you going to do with the 06 or 07 WRX wagon?
thats kyles car, he took my car to go down south to pick up parts
Is it easy to weld without a ground wire? Just noticed it in the time lapse
lol gets everyone sometimes!
Hey Chris. Do you mind sharing a good source for ordering parts and upgrades for JDM cars?
ebay motors!! just depends how much you want to spend, all my engine upgrades are coming from ETS because i want the top of the line for this car, anything under that i usually source from ebay.
@@BisforBuild thank you Chris!
Anyone else imagine jack black in Nacho libre when Oscar said "yes!". I heard "ches!".
Oscar libre
You should post more videos of you actually driving your cars.
ok it's good but i am wheezing just looking at the engine bay can you give it a jet wash ?
Refrigerant is a cool way to go out.
What about that impresa in the back?
It would be easier for the viewers to follow your cool JDM project if you could add “Part 1” and so on to the video title… just a suggestion! 👌
Loving the builds but I think it’s time to upgrade your camera to the Sony A7siii. The videos are a bit blown out.
But otherwise… long live the Supra!
Will it stay right hand drive?
That frame rail looks tweaked you need to check the alignment
Pressure wash it first then assemble.
