*What are some of the most mysterious, strangest and otherworldly albums you’ve stumbled upon? Let me know!*
Works by Atsuo: czcams.com/video/FUgVX5Olxmk/video.html
An awesome breakcore album from 1997 that I can't find any information about
Jack Stauber- Viator. Not too messy, or ambient. Just simple guitar based album, yet it feels both alien, and friendly. It's about self-discovery and getting to know what you passions are. I hold this album very close to me, and I connect to it on a deeper level.
Ramleh - A hole in the heart
One of the best album I know
Hollywood Video Game Kill-Bot - Video Game Laptop Punx.
hikarinoitoguchi.bandcamp.com/album/untitled-2 Found this album recently and ive really been enjoying the combination harsh noise over peaceful piano
The Chinese Hackers album cover gives me goosebumps
I've seen that picture before, I think it's just a picture of a real group of nuns but the creator just glitched and blended it a bunch.
@@chrisiceheart i think i’ve seen the original pic in either reddit or some aesthetic page on instagram.
Greetings! I did a bit of searching of the Chinese Hackers album cover, and I found out that it's a frame from a deleted scene from the 1992 film "Death Becomes Her".
:)
@@neofall ah ok cool i knew i had seen it before
@@chrisiceheart it’s from death becomes her
That Mother album cover is freakin DOPE
Right?! it's so pretty to look at lol.
Imagine this is what DJ Khaled was talking about when he said "mysterious shit"
Wdym?
No, the most mysterious album is ‘the vird moulter and her mouldered son’ by abu lahab. There’s only one track from the album that exists online and it’s the scariest thing you will listen to (an amazing track btw). Look up ‘my second birth is of incest (or an insect)’ to hear what I’m talking about.
That’s one of the most uncomfortable and terrifying things I’ve ever heard. How did you find this? Is there any more information on it?
Judging from the thumbnail, I’m starting to think albums with purple album covers are the most mysterious
It is known to be a mysterious color, after all.
It's because the blue/purple/pink ones are always obscure vaporwave subgenres that can only be found in the deepest corners of Bandcamp
P U R P L E I S T H E M O S T S O O T H I N G c OL or (oops voice crack ... )
the color purple just hit different
In design language, purple oftens give message of mystic or mysterious, however reddish purple could also give erotic vibes too lel.
everybody gangsta until everything's in Kanji
OH BABY NEW PAD DROP! Happy your back homie!
we out here Benny! Thank ya for stopping by! :)
why is ~~~ mysterious? i have both of her albums on vinyl and saw her open for julia holter
He didn’t say it was an “unknown” record.
The album sounds mysterious, so it fits.
chinese hackers! i've had this profile pic for so long
Me and the homie Desert considered mysterious now? Lets fucking goooooooooo
This is all just atmospheric tag top selling bandcamp albums LUL
That's what I was thinking this dude just looks at the top of bandcamp
This is what a normie thinks “weird art” is
@@DillingerR “normie” cringe af 🤓
@@alec1402 ah gatekeepers the most reputable internet breed
@@DillingerR holy shit go outside
love your channel so much, this video alone feels like it holds so much potential for new rabbit holes for me to fall down and i was getting chills from the bits you played alone. love you pad
BABE WAKE UP NEW PAD CHENNINGTON
AUGH PAD UPLOADED IM COOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMING
Ana Roxanne is one of my new favorite ambient artists. So glad to seeing her receiving more attention!
Got anymore ambient artist recommendations ?
@@BigBoyz33 Yes! Ambient is my favorite genre so I gotchu.
I'd highly recommend Tim Hecker (he's my personal favorite artist from the genre), Grouper, Biosphere, Atrium Carceri, Deathprod, How to Disappear Completely, William Basinski, Dronny Darko, Sabled Sun, and Brian Eno.
@@musicboistudios9575 thank you !!!
@@BigBoyz33 No problem!!
@@musicboistudios9575 Also Celer, I love his music
Mother is probably the most incredible album I’ve heard
Gorgeous art and gorgeous sounds! Can’t beat it
Hey Pad, can you make a video about Cryo Chamber? They're a really good dark ambient label, and they release music pretty often. They've been growing in popularity in the past few years and have a lot of artists making music. I think you'll enjoy it.
This may sound strange but is there such thing as "deep-web albums"? Like, albums only seen in the deep web? Is it possible?
Sounds intriguing af
Yeah but they’re just kinda edgy and dumb
It's lolicore recorded on a toaster.
Zenjin - Pseudoscorpion
don't try to find it.
@@user-wx2ek3uv1i i know ive heard of that name floating around. All I know it is apparently it's a tribute to Peter Scully apparently and in some recreations of the cover, fellow p0rnstar Vina Sky is on the cover.
Anna Roxanne’s personal story is also very interesting (by checking her Instagram account I realized about it)
Totally love her approach on music, her lates LP is so calming.
Dude, your production quality has just been consistently improving since you began. I love this and I'll have to give a listen to all of these!
Your videos are amazing and I love everyone that I've seen. Keep up the absolutely amazing work!!!!
Tapped on my subscriptions right when this was uploaded, got here at "2 seconds ago".
You’re actually first
Thanks Pad for that wonderful review
I legit enjoy all your videos, plus it helps a ton with my own music. Spent a solid year just in music limbo not finding much new music until your channel came along!
Pad you are a really great writer. Your scripts are mesmerizing.
Always good to see a Pad Chennington video in my alerts. I love these types of videos because it introduces me to more good music.
Here's a pro tip to find good music make a bandcamp account and just explore and make a rateyourmusic account
As always, thank you Pad for all these curiosities! Now imma go and check them out 🏃♀️💨
Thank you for this adventure. You are doing something special with this YT channel
Here I was hunting the internet for more abnormal music because I ran through all the other albums you mentioned in your previous videos. Can't wait to crunch through these albums too. Thank you!
Fantastic as always. keep up the good work, lad.
Didn't even know the album, I just clicked because the art for mother is done by Polygon1993 who is an insane visual artist
also VOID-002 with the same artist
I've been trying to find the name for that visual effect!
Thanks Pad! 🌴 🖤
It's always a good day when pad uploads
Favourite CZcams Channel. Crushing it, bro! x
Thank you Matthew! :) its a blast making videos like these, thanks for stoppin by!
The way you describe the songs are top notch
Videos like these make me wanna make more ambient horror music
Always Love your Show .
thanks Darrell! :)
Idk if this would be interesting but I'd love to watch a video about how to find new music and weird genres. Like how do u find this stuff. Great vid 🌞
I had a double take, you sound just like Mr nightmare.
Thanks so much for making this video, it's very insightful, definitely worth a sub 🔥
i highly recommend that you check out fishpaste - in space the rats just dissolve. prob one of the weirder albums that i have listened to recently
U a dismiss yourself fan?
mate im one of the artists on the label
@@orbambassador5158 lmaooo sorry bru
man, i think cLOUDDEAD - cLOUDDEAD is one of the albums more mysterious of the time, and his born was in the internet. cLOUDDEAD is like the grandfather of the Cloud Rap and Ambient Rap, because Yung Lean dropped his first EP in 2013, but this album is from 2001! is a Masterpiece, ahead of his time.
Sunset is an all day process
YO PAD IS BACK TO COOKING UP HIS FRESH SERVINGS OF NEW CONTENT!
Also hi again! You may remember me as 3092_Radio lolll
Pad is back!
These videos are my favorite because I love getting introduced to more music
I don't care about this sort of ambient music but I couldn't help but check out that casino one, I love that arcade soundscape so much
Clicked on the vid to discover more music within the ambient genre, Im in love!
Every time theres a Pad Chennington video I know im gonna have to open another tab on my browser to check out the music. Sometimes it has to be an incognito tab ;)
the absolute alpha, Chad Pennington has returned. welcome back king.
Dead Voices on Air come to mind, especially "How Hollow Heart" and "Hafted Maul". They perfectly blur the lines between ambient and noise, serene and disturbing.
Damn now I got a new genre to dive in.
The King has returned
Love the editing, narration, and most of the rest of this. I just wish the selections in this video and others that you do like this were a little more diverse and less vaporware/dark ambient based. However, I know that's what most of your content is based on so keep on keeping on.
Love the vid! You should check out the world of dudgeon synth
You seem pretty deep into the ambiance... I recommend you check these out ambient albums if you haven’t already:
- Blue Forest by Wouter Veldhuis
- The Complete Landings by Richard Skeleton
- Tower of Silence by Roberto Musci
- Braemar by Bengalfuel
- Temple IV by Roy Montgomery
Ayyyyy i love tower of silence
Ever heard of D
no but I heard about Death - Leprosy
Love that song
yeah it used to be on one of my playlists on Spotify
have you heard of Sewerslvt, goreshit or machine girl?
Not sure if you've heard of Kid smpl? Very ethereal 'lost in an abandoned futuristic dystopia, but in a good way' feel; also collaborated with Sangam a few times. Not vaporwave, but adjacent: Stuart Dempster - you never knew a trumpet and didgeridoo in an old church could sound so good. love your channel!
Wake up babe, new Pad video!
Man when I come out with my next album I hope you find it and enjoy it as much as these.
Weirdest thing i have listened to this year was the STALLAGGH projekt..
I legit thought no one else knew what Elebits was. I started that game like 10 times as a kid but never managed to play through it completely. Maybe I should go back to it now
Pad drop lets goooo!!! :0
I was listening to the Ana Roxanne record just last night! I had no idea it was that mysterious!
Time to get lost in the musical abyss again.
we backkkkk
A lot of music to discover!
what are your thoughts on the band Ween?
F I N A L L Y . Also gotta appreciate the love for ~~~
I think that the band Bull of Heaven would be an interesting subject for a video. They are the ones who made the longest music ever.
if you haven’t ever heard of 空隙 (void) i recommend it. some cool mix of harsh noise/drone/experimental concepts. i bought the discography awhile back and i keep going back into it
Next to your video on b e g o t t e n, this one had the MOST hype for me
The Renjā & Sangam song gives me the same feeling when I'm listening to Sigur Rós
I highly recommend you check out CRT麻痺. Their five albums are some of, if not the best, broken transmission music I've ever heard. The songs really put you in the scene: a person sitting next to their radio, stuck in the middle of a snowstorm somwhere in a desolate tundra. The atmosphere is incredible and every time I listen to the album I either open a window or take a cold shower just so I can be closer to the experience depicted through the fine collection of samples and the hazy album art.
ayy what the hell thas me lol !
I recommended this on another video too. First time I listened to his winter paralysis album I described it as “the type of music you’d hear wilst dying under an avalanche”
Megafluid Corporation sounds so peaceful yet unsettling knowing the implications of a lush world being taken over by industrialization. Even the last song sounds sinister.
Very fortunate to get Sacrifice on vinyl and Shanghai/Hong Kong on CD (which has a bonus track on it)
Recently, a release I’ve been obsessing over is Growth of the Night Plants by A Name for Both of Us. It’s a near 15 minute one-track affair and was described to be the start of a series of works inspired by Paul Klee’s paintings. It starts with these dreamy synths and then a harp gently plucking away. And it actually is a harp playing, recording during one summer night down in Florida. The rest of it has these dreamy synths continuing to play with cicadas providing an underscore. It sounds like it’s in some alien or fantasy world and yet feels very familiar and comforting. This is actually why I listen to it a lot as it is a way to bring me into a calm state.
A neat obscure physical release I have is Kentanna by Leucrocuta. Leucrocuta is a Toronto based artist. This album was directly inspired by Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. (The album title came from an episode where a group of refugees are looking for a new homeworld they called Kentanna. It turns out that it is actually Bajor.). The album was put out by Lost Angles on cassette in a very short run of 25. They were gold-foil labels on a transparent casing. However, one of these 25 actually uses a “solid metallic gold” shell instead. I ended up being the lucky one 😁. Funny enough, I had a feeling when I placed the order that I would be the winner (or to use a DS9 phrase: I would be shouting “Dabo!”). Furthermore, it is incredibly fitting as my moniker is named after a character from DS9 (Miles and Keiko O’Brien’s second child).
So yeah ... keep on exploring those sounds =]
Elebits is amazing, just throwing shit around with your gravity lasso was the most fun you could have with a Wii circa 2007
I'd honestly love to make music like Obay, very beautiful stuff, just don't know where to start.
Oh I’m listenin to ALL of these
How about a video on lost albums?
Hey babe wake up Pad Chennington uploaded
🍻 cheers fellow mates
I discover the WINNER album after you talking about bonus round one and I feel like i'm listening to someone having a hysteria or dissociation
I think you would really appreciate the label Pacific City Sound Visions, not really mentioned in the conversation about early vaporwave/hypnagogic pop, many of the albums on there were just as influential as James Ferraro's early stuff. The label is run by Spencer Clark (who had actually made music with Ferraro before), and I think a good portion of the albums from the label are just his music. My introduction was through Alien Wildlife Estate, a strange, fourth-world ambient album which sounds somewhere between Jon Hassel and James Ferraro.
Anything by the solo artist Grouper might fit, especially A I A: Alien Observer. Her stuff seems soothing to me, and the vocals are like the auditory representation of a hug.
Uboa-The Origin of my Depression, it takes to an other worldly place, but an absolutely terrifying on
What do you think about Roman Sidorov projects (Staruha Mha, Der Golem, Sedativ)?
you should do a video on bull of heaven, they have tracks that are years long
When I was brand new to Bandcamp I stumbled across An Empty Bliss Beyond this World by accident and I was blown away.
Edit: I also came across Eagle’s Nest Resort Club Timeshare Unit Late Night Cable Guide 1987 and it was very bizarre to find.
I have to appreciate Pad's persuasion when it comes to some of these albums. It's really nice to be kinda pushed to try something as I am someone who is very picky about the content I decide to indulge in.
I feel like, in a way, the Mother album saved me from something within myself. All I need to hear is that first track and I a lulled into a heaven that I can completely bask in and let myself be bathed in. The first listen made me want to sob my eyes out, in the most blissful way possible. I can't get enough of that first track whatsoever. 分娩 is such a mesmerizing track that it whisked me away to a place I was so unfamiliar with but felt so secure in. And all I could feel was my chest raise higher and higher in happiness and euphoria. Mother is such a gorgeous journey, and I encourage anyone who hasn't taken time to listen to it to please open your mind to it. Lay back, relax, and empty your mind into this album.
How To Disappear Completely. ❤
Elebits was my childhood! None of my friends know it
3:39 where is that location on the video? i think i dreamed i was in this place, maybe i saw a video about this place or something i don't quite remember
it's not exactly hidden or mysterious, but i have a soft spot for Tuesday Maybe by Way Out West. it's so atmospheric yet simple and danceable, i send it to my friends who need help relaxing, but i would also absolutely jam to it in a car.
I think you should listen to Fried Eye by MARETU. It’s a mixture of metal beats and 16 bit chip tunes, and finishes off with 8 minutes of sound I can’t even describe. It’s scary, but worth a listen.
You really cant describe a drum solo??
Rain Temple will always be the album to help through tough phases of my life.
Recently I discovered the new album of R∞ - NEOZEN which was amazing! You should definitely check it out.
And thanks for the new suggestions. Already own a few and stumbled upon a few but gave it a new try. Sometimes you need more than one listening.
I remember elebits, and as a little 4 year old, that game scared me 😂
This amazing
*_Always an amazing world of music to discover out there!_*
🙏🙏
i think the ana roxanne albums name is actualy tilde or tildetildetilde considering thats what the symbol is usally called
You're the Crypt Keeper of music
You should check out Getting Lost by Midori Otoko!
Excellent video. I will be checking all of these artists out later. I would like to recommend anything by the band "You''ll Never Get to Heaven". Their album "Images" is otherwordly, fuzzed out and hazy. Imagine if David Lynch, Julee Cruise, Boards of Canada and Cocteau Twins all merged together. I think it would sound something like this beautiful and sometimes eerie lofi dream music. Please check them out if you get a chance 🧡👍
Bro I love storytelling Expiremental music bro
