Thank you so much for this feature, a couple of my friends just alerted me to this video after I noticed an uptick on traffic on my social media and I am in tears. Having my work come across as I’ve intended. I have no words. Thank you so so much.
Listening to your work right now. Recognition much deserved, keep up the great work!
Dude! this is amazing, thank you so much for checking the video out! Hoping to bring some new listeners over to your work, it’s very deserved! Cheers and keep up the good energy my friend 🤘
I know it might be lame, but please try to get your album up on spotify. That would be awesome.
@@hahaha574 I’ve thought about it but I have to pay to stream my music on those platforms :/ and rn I’m kinda depending on bandcamp sales to be able to keep making music
@@nullobite idk if u have considered routenote already, but it is a free platform for distributing music on spotify and stuff! it does take a cut of the profits but if ur just looking 2 get it on streaming services it works
Hey there, I'm the creator of EtheReal Media, and wanted to say thank you for taking a look at my debut release! Super appreciative of your look at the EP (which I loved btw!), and I have a new album currently in the works at the time of this comment. Cheers!

Pad's enthusiasm for these albums and his passion for hunting them down is genuinely inspiring in this age of passive Spotify playlist mulch.
:)
I think I'm the only Japanese guy watching the channel besides the people overseas, and I really appreciate your deep research on the Japanese obscure. I know this video isn't about Japanese underground bands or anything (like you always do haha) but I just wanted to say thank you Pad. Love your work!
This means so much to me dude, thank you!
as another Japanese person i love it when he covers the obscure amazing bands
日本人?
There’s nothing I love more than getting lost in the corners of the internet with pad
Linguini my dude, it’s always a pleasure. Cheers!

There's an album called "Songs of Mourning" by Carl Gene which is one of the most harrowing things I've ever listened to. It's about his mother's suicide and even contains audio of a detective reading his mother's suicide note to him. It's uncomfortably personal because you feel like you've been inserted into one of the darkest moments in a person's life. I've never experienced anything quite like it.
Oh, hi again, guy who also comments in almost every Kayo Dot video👋🏻
Just listened to some of it including the track you spoke of, it's disgustingly haunting.
😟oh god what
I’m gonna find that, gonna see if I cry
Pad needs to make a video about it

Liked instantly because I love the ‘mysterious/spooky albums’ thing you occasionally do.
ayyyy thank you my friend :) hope you enjoyed!
that Nullobite record is truly something else, absolutely incredible. was not expecting it to dip so hard into footwork/juke/drum and bass territory either
Right?! Pretty awesome stuff.. I wanna check out more of their work, a lot of material on that pfe
On that page * lol
the person behind nullobite is one of my dear friends and they've been working hard on this stuff for a long time now, it's amazing to see strangers showing love for them 🙏
Ah Leyland Kirby ...
For a long time, his music best described my mental state in the 2010s. It was so good that I was convinced I could never make music myself ever again. Interestingly enough, when We, so tired came out, it also helped describe my mental state, in particular the tracks “Collected light”, “Solid mentality” (which you used in your background) and “Tinseltown”. But it was also the same time when I started my deep dive in the whole vapour scene, which would in turn help me get my own music making groove and thus become キラヨシ.
But I want to add that I actually wrote to him back then and even expressed my own doubts. He did respond and, thankfully, encouraged me in a way that made sense to me years later. So in a way, this was an example - and thankfully there has been and will be more like it - where I approach an artist as a fellow peer and there’s great comfort to know there are other artists out there who struggling to make sense of things too.
P.S. I have to revisit my Bandcamp wishlist because it has reached critical mass 😁
Derek! Hope all is well my friend, sending positive energy over to ya..
He actually responded to an email I sent him too a little while back... he's an incredible fella. His email response to me was very personable too, it reminds you we're all people at the end of the day.
Cheers my friend!
Thanks for sharing I want to listen to your stuff! What’s your band camp?

Thank you all for 100,000 subscribers! 🎊 What other artists, albums or genres do you want to see me explore for a future video? Lemme kno!!
anything japan related 😀
I know you've said on live streams that you'll get to it, but if you haven't yet, please, please, please take a day and deep dive into Boards of Canada, Aphex Twin, and Brian Eno. I don't care if you never do a video on any of them, but it's a serious dissonance where you know so much about what they've inspired but are missing these core foundations.
Now, for the show, I think you would have a blast covering Ghost Box Records. Very cohesive, more a movement than a brand. (Though again, good to know your Boards of Canada going in ;) )
Hi Pad! As a Japanese guy, I really want you to make a video about something I'm currently interested in. A video about really good albums by Japanese underground/local idol (girl) groups. I know you've done so much about rock/punk/noise bands so if this idea shows your interest I hope you'll make a video about it. Sorry for my messed up English but I hope you'll see this
Hollywood Video Game Kill-Bot
@@CoryCapron I second this love boards of Canada and Eno! Then my personal suggestion would be Xiu Xiu . Love your channel pad keep it up!
Hey pad, I had an idea for a genre you could cover: ritual ambient. It's a pretty neat genre that I frequently listen to and think you might find it interesting. Scorpion Milk by Arktau Eos and Language of Red Goats are good starting points
oooo sounds interesting! feel free to send some more artists suggestions or even links on here, i always return to the comments section!
Does Zero Kama count as ritual ambient?
@@foncess Oh yes, great find, friend! This group was outside of my radar. They bleed a bit into the industrial side of things but they are still a very nice addition to the ritual ambient genre.
@@PadChennington I would also love to see you talk about ritual ambient!! Some other interesting artists that are in that type of field are Phurpa (and really everything else Alexey Tegin has done), Rudolf Eb. Er, and Aural Holograms.
@@PadChennington you want a creepy ritual ambient artist you will absolutely LOVE 100% moneyback garuntee? Look up Corona Barathri album Nox Mali. You want good video content? I promise this is right up your ally
Just from looking at FUNSTATION's album art I need to listen to it immediately
This probably won’t be seen by pad but I really want to thank him for being my guide into some really cool albums on Bandcamp. He’s given my old 5th gen iPod new life and has given me a lot of closure with my demons through music.
Devon! Of course i'll see this dawg, thank you for watching my videos and it's exciting to hear an OG ipod is gettin' some new work! cheers and enjoy the tunes :)
@@PadChennington thanks a bunch man, happy to see that you sift through all your comments and actually read them. Also congratulations on 100k subscribers!
I would’ve put “No one deserves Happiness” by The Body. The juxtaposition between the 80’s synth pop and sludge-y, noise-infused rock sections just makes me feel unsettled in the best way possible. Plus it’s just a good album lol
Good choice. That album feels really doom-esque and those screams are just so haunting
oooo i gotta check that, never heard of it!
The body is one of the best bands I’ve ever heard, I love sludge metal in general but they take it in such a weird and terrifying direction and I love it
I think this channel is really something I've been looking for. I love exploring the music scene and finding music/sounds I have never heard before. So, thanks for taking us along with you!
idk if my exposure to silent hill games (and the brilliant work of Akira Yamaoka) from a young age influenced my feelings towards these sorts of sounds but theyre all Beats I Like To Dissociate In My Shower To
Your channel truly made me experience music in a vastly different way. I really started listening differently and searching for what i enjoyed more, thanks for that ! This is the first vid i ever watched by u and i was cleaning out my “watch later” list and came across it, i know this vid will be nostalgic for me in the future
Your channel rules dude, it’s so awesome to see all these people so interested in experimental music!
100K. Your content's grown on me a lot; I could listen to you talk about obscure albums for hours. Cheers to you, Pad
thanks a ton dude
Love your channel dude, congrats on 100k
Happy to see you’ve reached 100K.
Your channel made me appreciate ambient and noise music more than I already did.
Keep doing what you’re doing Pad👌
yo congrats on 1k man!! much love
congrats on the 100k!! i always have so much fun watching your videos!
Love that you put Disease's Loving Relationship in this video! Still one of my favourite Vaporwave releases of the year! So good to see you not only back on the grind, but to see you reach that 100,000+ Subs, homie!! Big love as always!

I've been lurking on your channel for a while, and your shit is *chef's kiss*, especially for how much great, obscure stuff you cover. Just suscribed. Take care man, press on!
I am so thankful that you introduced me to Leya and Daughters. The ones you mentioned on this video and the one about disturbing albums are some of my favorite albums right now!
Congrats on 100k buddy, love your work. Keep it up!

thank you so much Gareth! This channel has been such a trip for me, thank you for the support and kind words :)
It’s so surreal seeing nullobite getting a shout out here but it is 100% deserved
yes! I also completely found them by just randomly exploring bandcamp tags, so nice hearing they saw the video as well.. that's my favorite part about all of this :)
Disease is really a pretty album
great way to describe it my friend, cheers
I CANNOT TELL YOU HOW HAPPY I AM THAT YOU INCLUDED LOVING RELATIONSHIP!! YOU’RE THE BEST PAD ♥️♥️♥️

Thanks so much Raísa!!! Got a bunch of new videos in the works, stay tuned :)
@@PadChennington I'm really looking forward to the one about Everywhere at the End of Time!
i have a suggestion that doesn't quite fit into this chill vibe but is rather extremely unsettling all throughout: Scott Walker's The Drift. keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish
One of a few channels where you can feel the real passion of creator.💜 Also congrats on 100k.
thank you dude :) means alot!!
Congrats on 100K, big boi 🖤🔥
Cheers to 100K more! 🍻💪🖤🔥
love your channel pad. congrats on the big 100
Glad I found you before the 50k mark, let alone 100! Grats man, ever since I found your channel, I have really opened myself up to new forms of music and art in general. It got me writing again, and venting my troubles into the universe where those things belong. I look forward to your End of Time video, brother, cheers! ❤️
i am determined to someday make it onto one of these lists. you're really inspiring and congrats on 100k!

Banger video, sometimes it's really hard to find albums like these that just take your mind for a spin, so these lists are really amazing
Ayyy robin! so glad you enjoyed em :) hope all is well, cheers to good music!!!
You turned me on to so many great bands, so thank you very much!

Good call on the LEYA album. Great vid and keep up the great work
Thanks for the discoveries!
Dude I just discovered your channel. Awesome content and much love. Keep it up bro with this informative content.
Seeing Pad's channel grow little by little really lifts me up~
Honestly luv watching your vids! You sound like you genuinely care and are passionate and it’s nice so thank you for that. Hope you don’t lose that! Sorry
You should do a list of albums made by fans
Cant believe I didn’t get the notification for this. I’m very excited as I love lists of “most disturbing music” and your video about it last year was one of my favorites. Also, you talking about the arcade at the Jersey shore takes me back to a family vacation back in 2015 where I went to Ocean City, NJ for the first time. It was great getting to play games like Tekken 4, Carnevil, and Terminator 2 on the boardwalk with a view of the beach nearby.
This whole video is inspiring me to maybe make more ambient horror music! Lol
Love how Pad always uploads lists of obscure albums every time I look for new experimental music 😁
This channel is so deserving of 100k subs - it's only up from here man! Pad's vids are top-notch in this niche.
I appreciate that so much! I will always be on a journey to grow, change and develop my style. always love hearing feedback like this :)
@@PadChennington cheers Pad keep it up my man
I’ll mention this person again, Peter Sotos.
His album Buyer’s Market is one of the most disturbing things I have heard and there is at least 3 albums he has made.
buyers market and proxy seem more like art projects tbh, but i digress
Sotos does get mentioned in another one of these videos actually
Buyers Market is nothing compared to Pseudoscorpion by Zenjin. Both equally shit. Although Sotos is one interesting fellow
Proxy is somehow even more horrifying
Yay congratulations on your 100k! You deserve and every sub, your channel has given me so much lovely music to enjoy 🤗❤
Thank you so much!! what a crazy ride it's been lol, cheers to many more adventures in music!
@@PadChennington your welcome dude! I can't wait for the caretaker video btw I'm super hyped 😭❤

Yooooo congrats on the 100k subs! You deserve it.
thank you so much! also i love your profile picture so much lmfao
Great work as always!
Thank you! Cheers! :)
Another great one man! I hadn't heard of most of these.
Something I remembered while you were talking about time was that in one history lesson our teacher was teaching about the indrustial revolution and specifically about trains. For the sake of clarity I don't live in the USA or UK so I got a different point of view but I think that this still stands: our teacher said "then humans started to be the slaves of time" because now the time of traveling wouldn't be measured in days but in hours and minutes. If you wanted to board the train, you had to be on time. Clocks were becoming more common in homes and slowly but surely specific times took over the home. 5 AM get water from well, 6 AM make breakfest, 9 AM feed the horses etc.
Always loving these videos, keep it up pad
Thank you so much friend :) thanks for always watching!
The real strange and unsettling thing is that I know, even before I watch this video, that I’m never going to listen to any of these, but I’m going to save every playlist of these on CZcams I can find. I did with the last video like this and I know I will again.
telepath is really good
You are a FAR better music channel than theneedledrop
LOL I love my anthony fantano, he was one of my biggest inspirations when starting the channel and just the way he narrates through a video, he's extremely great at what he does. I tried to develop a different style, something more anecdotal, imaginative and just explorative :)
@@PadChennington I think you've succeeded differentiating yourself from him
Congrats on 100K! The underground shall rise

I may have missed it, but do you plan on covering sewerslvt at any point? They started taking off in 2020 and their music is great stuff, one of her songs already catching 1 million views here on CZcams in less than a year
cant wait for everywhere at the end of time, that will be a magnificent album to rehear and listen to you cover man!

Dude thank you so much! Been a wild ride, still can't believe it.. here's to many more :)
Something interesting I found out about Disease - Loving Relationship, at the second song (I have no idea what it’s called since it’s in chinese or japanese idfk), is it was actually used in The Town With No Name for the opening theme

Just checked out the Disease Album, I love it, will have to check out there other stuff. Thanks Pad for the recommendations!
great video yet again! I commented this last video but I recommend looking into Jandek. Very weird, its outsider music at its best. His album "Ready for the House" is so ominous and scary by accident

Thank you so much Yury! Yes, youtube can be wonky like that sometimes lol :( thanks for stopping by and showing the love!
Today I learned that I've been into signalwave without even knowing it was a thing! Well now that I know it has a name, I can probably find more in that genre now.
Also Pad - I discovered your channel a few months ago after listening to Everywhere at The End of Time (someone in the comments mentioned a video you made on disturbing albums where EATOT was number one). Since then I've learned about so many strange music genres thag I don't even know where to start! Your channel has inspired me a lot, in both my taste in music and my drawings. So yeah I hope more people discover your channel!
You deserve way more subs man
