I personally think this channel is getting more views than the main because it feels more natural. Even though there is literally no editing on this channel, you tell/explain stories so naturally that it's hard to even notice and I think that relaxed nature makes the videos easier to watch than an edited video from the main channel

Internet culture in its modern form has been around since atleast 2010 maybe even 2008-09 back when memes really started to take off.

The drama isn't the big attractor. It's more-so the style of it practically being a 1 to 1 conversation about what's going on, combined with your great storytelling.
As a fellow journalism major, this channel isn’t doing well just because of the drama. It’s doing well because you’re the head anchor, the editor and the videographer all at the same time, all *basically* live since you have no cuts. That’s so difficult and shows how talented you are.

But I still watch almost every single Mogul Mail video, because Ludwig‘s just really good at what he does (that journalism degree‘s showing!) and very charismatic at how he goes about it. Even when I disagree with his takes I still enjoy hearing them and giving me food for thought.

A lot of creators are worried to make the jump. But from the streamer POV with Truffle, streaming on CZcams isn't TOO much different to Twitch, it might fit a lot of streamers will large CZcams fanbases better even.
This is why you should have a CZcams and put your VoDs onto it to start a portfolio, so you can have a starting point.

This channel is doing well because its Real Talk, down to earth opinions, and you sum it up nicely while speaking well, which is rare. The other youtube methods ( not knocking anyone, or anything else you do in other stuff ) is way more common, with baits, jumpcuts, radio host level of noises and soundbits playing.

Tbh, I think Sage nailed it right on the head. Its the reason why I watch this channel and not Ludwigs main, Sometimes I think the 10+min vids are too long, but its still attention-grabbing. Its in the medium-range length for me.
Great video! I loved your last guide and would love to see a new one. I want to start streaming fighting games and be entertaining while showing off good gameplay, talking about FGC news, streaming tournament runs, etc. and structuring it an educational way to bring people into the genre and easily make into videos. Your insight on shorts is great, but I also am unsure if I'm personally better off starting on Twitch since this is where the vast majority of FGC streamers (and by extension viewers) are, or if simulcasting to CZcams and TikToc would pay off better. I understand this is a niche dilemma that will probably not be covered by a guide like that, but I would still love to hear more about how to stream to CZcams if I go that route, especially with your roots in the SSBM community

i think to make people more incentivised to put shorts into their main channels is to have it as a section separate to videos so that it doesn’t clutter up the channel
Short is like your CV, if you can make peopke interest to you with a shot time then you will gain tons of subs.
More subs mean more algo into your every vods & streams -> more views -> more adsense

I've been considering switching to CZcams for my streams for a long time, and with the recent bullshittery Twitch has been pulling, it's been more and more tempting. My main issue though is how to juggle near daily uploads with near daily streams, and not having them overlap

I feel like most audiences split up in two a little anways (the whole youtube-frog vs twitch viewer meme), so maybe creating a channel dedicated for streaming/vods and one for more edited content isn't a bad idea.
I understand the want to grow both at the same time, but think about it, currently people already have to go to two different places for those different forms of content. So from their side nothing is really changing, and you wont have the issue where your audience leaves your livestream to watch the new daily upload (or something similar), because you're more effectively splitting the audience based on their preference.
Ludwig’s strategy of making the video available when he ends the stream to steer viewers to it is great. Add a second channel for clips/stream highlights, reuse some for shorts and you can have a solid way to squeeze content out of a stream in different formats.

There's a lot to be said for presenting the facts and even a few opinions of a thing without an agenda that discolors everything. What you said is a good recipe for success from people who are sick of hearing some biased take on everything.

Ludwig does it in one take sometimes on his live stream. This man is talented like no other.
I'm in this same camp, I have always hated Twitch and the culture it builds around itself, so I avoid it like the plague, but the goins on, in a grander sense, interest me, because as silly as it seems to say sometimes, it's drama in the business world, so once this started popping up and I checked it out, became a fan of you, every twitch streamer I like, I discovered on CZcams easier than i would have on Twitch prolly, more streamers need to be here, let Twitch die, that way when its gone, we can replace it with something useful and not a shit a stain on society. Either way, Ludwig, keep up the good content, I subbed after finding you because I read you to be genuine and I feel like even if you and I disagree, we're arguing in good faith.
There's just as many fans who avoid Twitch to make up for the ones you will inevitably leave behind. Plenty of people like me, who won't even go to their site, I won't give it the privileged of being loaded on my PC, would love to see plenty of these people over here instead. CZcams is better for discovarability anyway, you guys have been saying it for years.

Hey Lud, thanks for always making these types of vids and just being a good figure in the community to listen to. It’s always been nice to watch these and figure out what’s going on in the internet and how to make sense of it.
I’m a 16 year old who really wants to start streaming, so I was wondering if Twitch would still be a good place to start out, seeing as CZcams streaming (to my knowledge) isn’t as up to snuff with Twitch (i.e. finding streams). Thank you again for uploading these!
This type of content will always do well. It’s a concise explanation of a lot of things. Which makes it easily consumable. The main channel is much more hit and miss. Videos where people know they’re getting maximum info will always do best.
Hearing all sides of the story of Twitch falling apart from Critikal, Mutahar, and Ludwig constantly is just music to my ears. They are the main reason that I've still been paying attention to this drama the further it goes. Even if this drama does come to an end, at least I got to see the holy trinity cover a topic concisely like true naturals.
Exactly! It's like reading a book, but it isn't boring at all and it keeps you interested to keep looking further. (This isn't probably the best analogy, but it was the best I could come up with) they are all good at delivering details from drama like this.
Muta is the only guy I don't follow, anymore at least, his style doesn't really fit me cuz he is more focused on the really dark and edgy stuff which gets too overbearing at times for me. I do still find him entertaining tho

I started watching Ludwig while he learned how to play Geoguessr; I know I would really enjoy a series of videos of Ludwig just learning how to do new things and explaining what he's doing/giving his reflection on the process (e.g., Ludwig Learns How to Make a Souffle, Ludwig Learns How to Change the Oil in a Car etc.).

In response to the intro, I love your main content, super well produced, I also can’t think of the last time I watched it lmao. I watch every Mogul Mail though. I think the chill vibes (and news updates I’m interested in) are just easier to consume. Also the smaller number of uploads (although there’s been a lot lately) make it easier to stay on track with. You’re just… a good public speaker I guess? You make it engaging every time. I enjoy just hearing you explain stuff and give your thoughts, it’s appreciated. Just can listen casually without needing to engage myself into all the visual gags, I’m busy so easier to slide into my day.

I think we can all agree that getting Ludwig to moving to CZcams was THE BEST DECISION CZcams could have made. He has made such a user focused extension and enhanced the experience so much, while also allowing other streamers to be less scared while switching over.

@@strong541 It's clicking two buttons, he's just swapping scenes on OBS, it's not something difficult to do while talking, especially if you're a streamer, who does it regularly. That's the easiest part of streaming, the real impressive thing Ludwig does is consistently having entertaining content and a consistent streaming/upload content.

See I don't mean to like change your perspective of "CZcams is better" and all that, but recently there has been some weird bugs that even YT themselves are not trying to fix it (who knows it might be fixed in future and aging this reply like milk) and it raises up a lot of issues with monetization and stuff soo, just giving you a headsup because lots and lots of CZcamsrs have to deal with this as of now.

CZcams has sooo much to improve on yet and thats actually a great thing. Theyve been really starting to pick up on streaming and definitely will improve the platform a lot for streamers. I can definitely see youtube in the future having a very nice viewing experience overall in a good balance of videos, shorts and streams.

never saw a twitch stream, but my favorite video is the content plan one you did (dont stream on twitch before watching this) So for sure a more inside baseball guy than alot of the viewers might be, but im a pretty staunch YT only guy and i watch that video every so often because there's little nuggets that apply to all platforms, genres, etc,

Drama probably does help the views, but I think its more so that this channel is basically a one sided conversation or story time with Ludwig. And I'm sure a lot of main channel subs would agree that you're a good story teller, so its entertaining to listen to you talk about current events.

I personally prefer this channel because it's digestible news, with insightful commentary from someone who understands the community. Your main channel has some fun stuff which I still consume, and I don't want this to come across the wrong way and don't mean it in a condescending way at all, but it feels more geared towards kids or these new challenge style videos. I don't really care about how many flashlights it takes to cook an egg even though I understand the entertainment value of it, but I do care about what you share about platforms that I have an interest in. Also you just do a really great job of it let's be honest haha

youtube has to make a better system for where the shorts show up in your subscriptions though because sometimes I go to my subscriptions page for the purpose of finding a 10-15min video and I have to filter through a bunch of 30 second shorts to find that. Im hoping theres a way that I can remove those from showing up there
You said it perfectly, I had to stop watching streamers due to time constraints but I still like to keep up with whats going on, and better to come from you than some drama farming channel
For me, I just really enjoy the way you go about sharing all these bits as well as the personal takes/insights you give - you always keep it 100, it's snappy, you're funny & it feels like a quick, personal & authentic chat with you about interesting topics that you always have some sort of unique insider's perspective on. The main channel videos don't interest me as much because the titles/thumbnails/general format feels a lot more like generic youtube videos that are just there to kill the time, whereas these ones are very insightful and always give me something to think about.

For me as an example, I'm unlikely to watch Shorts, will tend to search out medium-form (up to 1-2 hours) and will only ever dabble in Live content (because I don't usually have the time to keep up with livestreams).
I'd imagine that there will be groups that gather on the same channel for the different types of content (eg shorts and medium-form and livestreams) but only consume one or the other.
It'll be interesting to see how this affects channel development and their content strategy.
I’m just loving what is essentially a short podcast on the world of the streamers at this point. I used to watch more streams but I don’t have time for hours like I did before and you’re a very charismatic person to keep me posted, who gets straight to the point in a well rounded way.
I think this is a really good opportunity for CZcams to make some changes that will bring all the twitch streamers over.

I watch Mogul Mail because the insights that you give are probably the best on the platform (I'd say you and Penguinz0 are the two people I usually watch for drama stuff). It's not just a youtuber saying what the drama is, you actually give your opinions on it, and I think that makes the video more interesting and constructive. It's just a great news format tbh

I got a question regarding Shorts and CZcams, especially when treating a Short as a "Trailer" for your livestream. How long before the stream should a Short go live? Should it go up alongside you going live or should it have a little bit of time before to allow the short to get a chance to circulate on the site a bit first?

Are there any cases you recommend having shorts on the main channel vs a clips channel?
Asking because I stream and make content as well, and I'm gearing up to start doing CZcams Shorts.
I personally come here for the insight Lud has in the streaming & content creation space. I don't really want to follow certain things incredibly closely, becuase drama can be draining and time consuming but, I'll listen to what input trusted figures from those communities have to say. I think the fact that although you are paid to be on youtube, you can still dish out valid criticism and refrain from selling your integrity means that you can be unafraid to say what needs to be said.
you are in a particular niche of big content creators that have always been upfront about 'gaming the system', which has raised your audience to be more curious and attentive of these things. I think that niche is in part fulfilled in this channel along side videos like your "I made a secret CZcams channel to prove it's not luck", video. as Audiences grow more online they will inevitably grow more curious as to behind the scenes workings of the space, communities, and platforms. I think you have the resumee and skills needed to fill that niche

you are great at delivering the facts of a situation and explain the importance of each fact. it’s very easy to watch and learn
you're a good story teller, you break them down in a clear and concise way, and you're calm and collected in these you make them easy to understand well being easy to listen to as you aren't commenting on it being monotone or quiet you keep it interesting and easy to digest, i feel that's probably why most come here :)
I've been wanting to be a CZcams for a long time. I abandoned that specific dream when i became an adult and my priorities changed but now that ive finally had the opportunity to learn what wasn't taught to me about adulthood I've been really wanting to get into again and would LOVE you hear your knowledge on how to become a youtuber.
