This is so helpful!! Congratulations on passing the SPI 🥳🥳🥳🥳🎊
Congrats on passing your SPI!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 you’ll definitely help many with this video!
Congratulations on passing your SPI! Please continue on sharing your journey and all these amazing tips. Thank you☘
Congrats on passing and it's so amazing that your entire class did so as well. Smooth sailing for the rest of your program! Love watching your progress (:
Helpful, thanks
This is extremely helpful! Thank you so much!
Yayyyy Congratulations 🎉
Thanks!!!
thank you so much for your video. and congratulations 😁🎉🍾
Congratulations ❤️💕
Thank you!
I’m going to start school for sonography. I know physics is huge and anatomy so I’m just gathering anything I can. Thank you for the video!
This is extremely helpful!
It is awesome !!
Congrats on passing! I take my SPI in 2 months! This video is really helpful! I was wondering if you offered Zoom tutoring? Maybe just an hour at a time and only like 4-5 sessions? If not, that's ok! I am already an OBGYN tech and I must pass my SPI in February. So nervous!
Sorry if I missed it in ur video but would you say the questions at the end of the Edelman book are comparable to the questions on the actual SPI?
Hey could you share the link of where you purchased the Edelman Physics 6th edition. I keep getting like 3rd edition ones.
Yay! I passed my spi exam today !
Yay congrats!!!!!!!🎉
Congratulations.
Hello congratulations. Where there a lot of formula questions?
How long was your program?? Mine is 18 months and we are flying! I just took my midterm and it’s only week 5!
Thank you :)
Hi! Can you make a video how the online testing works? What are the requirements and what was your experience?
How was the check in if we are taking it online? They have to scan your test area correct ?
I am from UK preparing for ARDMS Physics exam soon, what type of elastography related questions in it?
Thank u so much
One more question to ask you... the green book all the Q's in the back of it are they similar to what you'll see on the actual exam??
Yes super similar, very helpful!
Do you know what mean in flow and out flow in penile Doppler ???
Very helpful thank you.
Thank you! Working on my next video Aorta Protocol.
I’m going to take my test on September.
@@srmichelleguerrier1307 oooo goodluck! Lmk how it goes. Biggest tip is to know all ur relationships.
congratulations 🎉 i didn’t pass my SPI online exam only 5 numbers were less than the passing marks 😢i think i did some blunder while i rechecked..also there were images like the one with multiple density areas in the liver and they asked to point out the hyperechogenic area so i placed the X mark on the hyperecoic area i want to know is that the correct way or do i have to place the marker below or what? also there was an image of a sonographer performing scan, her hand seemed to be in an incorrect position, the questions asked were what to do 1-Raise the examination couch
2-lower down the machine
3- Change position of her hand
4-Or it’s fine the way it is
my answer was, change position of her hand which looked obviously abnormal position but i guess the correct answer was Raise the examination couch☹️ can anyone answer here please
I don’t remember these exact questions but for the liver one I would think the X should go right on the area it’s asking u about, not above or below. As far as the positioning question, it sounds like it was asking about proper ergonomics, again I’d have to see the picture to be sure, but people hold the probe all different ways really, some are definitely better then others but really it should just be comfortable, but proper posture is very important and shouldn’t vary from person to person, so something like raising the bed up would mean the sonographer isn’t leaning down and over to reach the patient, so that answer makes sense, again would have to see the picture to rly know.
Congrats! I was wondering what school you go to? I'm also in Georgia and have trouble deciding which schools to apply to!
Hey thank you! DM me on twitter @jmaesono and i'd love to talk more about this with you
Congrats! And what edition is the elderman green book?
Fourth edition
Hi!! Thanks for the video. Do you have a study guide for the SPI? I have to restudy all over to take the exam :,c
Hi, so I didn't use anything but the Edelman physics book to study. There are hundreds of practice questions in the book. I just covered up the answers and went through all the questions over the course of a couple weeks.
i’m taking mine in the morning 😀
How did it go!!
I have a question. Are there questions about formulas on the exam? Do you need to do math for the exam? I know there’s lots of formulas in the “Understanding Ultrasound Physics” book and I was just wondering if we needed to remember them for the exam. Thank you.
There are a lot of formulas in the book but most of the math is really easy if u understand the relationships between the things the question is asking you. On the actual SPI I maybe had like 3 actual math questions with numbers and all I had to do was either multiply or divide. Most of the questions will be about the relationships between different aspects of the machine functions and settings to optimize the image. You shouldn’t have to simply memorize the formulas. If understand the different components you can reason out what needs to happen to one thing to change something else.
@@JMaeSono Thank you very much 🙏🏽
Recommend books name spi and for abdomen
can you make a video on how high schoolers can research, prepare, and what classes they should take before applying?
Hey sorry for the late reply. If you haven't already, I suggest watching my first video "How I Got Accepted to US School". I went into US straight from high school, so in that video I talk all about choosing a good school and what classes I had to take to apply. Every program is different though so make sure you check the course catalog on the school's website or email an advisor to tell you specifics. Hope this is helpful for you and good luck.
Congrats! Taking my spi in a week! At home online testing, did they let you use a blank piece of paper to work out any problems you need to?
Thanks! I did online at home as well. I believe they did allow scratch paper but I don’t think I used it. If you need a calculator for a question it pops up as an option on the screen. There really wasn’t a lot of math. Just a few questions and it was really simple.
@@JMaeSono thank you so much! Did you get your score immediately after completing the exam?
Hello, I already took SPI exam and thanks God I approved. I would like to know how to find an internship as an Ultrasound Sonographer, Right now I am about to take the Abdomen Exam. Thank you everyone.
Was the SPI done before physics 2?
My program does physics in 1 semester, we don't have a physics 2. We took the SPI right after the semester and we had covered all the topics on it and way more.
After taking the SPI how many ARDMS exams do you have to take?
You can do as many or as few as you want, just depends what specific field you want to work in, there’s abdomen (general), OB/GYN, pediatrics, musculoskeletal, vascular, breast etc…
Which phys book is
Aren't there 7 different tests? So what your covering may not be on the other tests. They may or may not focus more on different areas than the test you took. Just asking
The SPI is just one test, I don’t know how the question bank works, every test may not have all the same questions, but u never know what they will or won’t ask you, all of these topics I mentioned are fair game on the test. You may not get a question about every single thing I mentioned, but you need to know and understand all of it b/c like I said you have no way of knowing which questions you’ll get.
Hey, I take my SPI soon. I would love to reach out to you and get a better breakdown of a few things before my exam.
Yeah girl DM me on Twitter @jmaesono, I’m more than happy to help u out!
Hi, I want to know the author of the book, "understanding the ultrasound physics"???, Also recommend the book for review spi question... thanks in advance..
The author is Sydney Edelman and this is the book I used for the SPI there are 600+ practice questions
Did you also use the Ultrasound Registry Review to help you prepare for exam?
Nope, just the Edelman physics book, everything u need to know is right there. Thats the only source I used over the whole semester for each test and it never let me down.
@@JMaeSono which edition did u use? (:
@@Alyssa-sy3om 6th
@@JMaeSono thank u sm! My sonography program starts in a couple months, do u think if I get the book and study now I’ll understand it ? Or should I wait until school and my teacher is teaching it lol
@@Alyssa-sy3om the Edelman book is such a good book, I think it’s actually a really great idea to start reading it early if you want, it starts off very very basic and even when it gets more complicated it’s still a good idea to at least familiarize yourself with all the new terminology.
Congrats. And can you share us how could we attend the exams? Thanks.
I took my SPI online but you can also go to a testing center in your area. When you register online you get to decide. If you are in US school, you do have the have completed the US physics course to be eligible to take the exam. Anyone with questions about eligibility requirements can check out this link www.ardms.org/wp-content/uploads/pdf/ARDMS-General-Prerequisites.pdf
@@JMaeSono thank you! 😊
@@JMaeSono thanx for ur efforts. are there special requirements for online SPI exam? i am in Pakistan currently and due to pandemic i have to go with online exam.
Congratulations on passing your exams
Very informative video
Do you have soft copy of any study material which you can share please TIA
Thank you!!! I don’t, but I definitely recommend the Edelman physics book, it’s the best.

Great video ! I loved it thank you ! By the way you are beautiful
Hi I am from Pakistan. I need guidance regarding application process of ARDMS. Can you please help me
I am also from Pakistan and preparing for my SPI. would like to prepare the application together.
@@sumerasadiq4225 i m also plan to appear in exam spi
Did you use that book in your DMS physics class? Congrats on passing! Great video with good information I dont feel as worried about my future DMS physics course :) taking intro the DMS physics right now and I am struggling a little with my math but I just need to practice more.
Thanks!! Yes we used this book throughout the US physics class. It is really all you need.
Ultrasound is all about practice, the math, the anatomy, the scanning, just practice practice practice and you’ve got this!!!
NOW
I can’t believe how beautiful you are.
Congratulations and thank you for your kindness, for sharing all this.is there a way i can connect with you on Instagram or something?
Please and thank you
Thank you! Yes please Twitter @jmaesono or Instagram @juliiemae
