    congratulations 🎉 i didn’t pass my SPI online exam only 5 numbers were less than the passing marks 😢i think i did some blunder while i rechecked..also there were images like the one with multiple density areas in the liver and they asked to point out the hyperechogenic area so i placed the X mark on the hyperecoic area i want to know is that the correct way or do i have to place the marker below or what? also there was an image of a sonographer performing scan, her hand seemed to be in an incorrect position,the questions asked were what to do 1-Raise the examination couch
    2-lower down the machine
    3- Change position of her hand
    4-Or it’s fine the way it is
    my answer was,change position of her hand which looked obviously abnormal position but i guess the correct answer was Raise the examination couch☹️ can anyone answer here please

    • @JMaeSono
      @JMaeSono  Před 3 lety

      I don’t remember these exact questions but for the liver one I would think the X should go right on the area it’s asking u about, not above or below. As far as the positioning question, it sounds like it was asking about proper ergonomics, again I’d have to see the picture to be sure, but people hold the probe all different ways really, some are definitely better then others but really it should just be comfortable, but proper posture is very important and shouldn’t vary from person to person, so something like raising the bed up would mean the sonographer isn’t leaning down and over to reach the patient, so that answer makes sense, again would have to see the picture to rly know.

    I have a question. Are there questions about formulas on the exam? Do you need to do math for the exam? I know there’s lots of formulas in the “Understanding Ultrasound Physics” book and I was just wondering if we needed to remember them for the exam. Thank you.

    • @JMaeSono
      @JMaeSono  Před 3 lety +3

      There are a lot of formulas in the book but most of the math is really easy if u understand the relationships between the things the question is asking you. On the actual SPI I maybe had like 3 actual math questions with numbers and all I had to do was either multiply or divide. Most of the questions will be about the relationships between different aspects of the machine functions and settings to optimize the image. You shouldn’t have to simply memorize the formulas. If understand the different components you can reason out what needs to happen to one thing to change something else.

Every program is different though so make sure you check the course catalog on the school's website or email an advisor to tell you specifics. Hope this is helpful for you and good luck.
