- Hello Socratica Friends! We’re here to help you be a great student! Are you interested in studying Physics, but you don’t know where to start? Today we have a special guest, Simon Clark, PhD, who will give us some great advice about how to study Physics. We’ll talk about how Simon got inspired by Physics demonstrations and activities as a kid, and how his studies progressed at Oxford and the University of Exeter. You may be surprised to hear how much math is involved when you study Physics! Simon gives some great practical advice about how to learn this most fundamental of the sciences.
Simon made a video that ties in with this one, all about the Physics books he would recommend for you. You can find that video over on Simon’s channel here:

This channel is brilliant! Your videos are awesome and very useful. If only there were contents like this in Italy.. Keep up the good work!
This gives me the confidence to study physics. I am struggling at the moment. I am studying basic physics And maths. I have a love hate relationship with it. I need to study some physics to study what I want but I find it hard any tips.
athena energy Shine me tooo
same here i can feel you
athena energy Shine try to understand the concept and why does the equations work then solve as much problems as u can at least that’s my method and don’t just rely on the teachers do some extra research
I really did hate physics but I start watching documentaries about physics and start to understand and love it and because of that my mark got higher
You can't understand a subject if you hate it you must love it to get better marks
athena energy Shine I could help if u live in NYC
Hey! Great video, great advice. A strategy is fundamental to anything in this life. Great job.

Really nice video btw! It helped me quite a bit :).
I search the comment section to find comments like this. :-)
This video helped me alot..... It increases confidence and make me feel to do hardwork for become better in physics ... Thnx....
I didn't know there's an English version of Socratica (...which is probably the original version of the channel). Your English is awesome, btw! This feat with Simon took me by surprise when I searched how to be good at physics. Both your and Simon's channels do a great job promoting science.
Great video! Really looking forward to ‘How to study maths’.
Thanks Simon for your well-timed advice on starting with python! Also, great interview Socratica
How to Study Physics = Study Math. Physics is a lot of Math. If you don't like math you might not like physics. Yes. True. I agree. Good video I liked it.
Idk it's opposite for me i like physics and hate maths
@@eternaleffect2499 i thought I was the only one lol
I think physics isn’t just about your math skills. .. I studied physics twice as much as calc 2 and ended up failing it w a 49%, while on my calc 2 test I got a perfect score. I think it has to do w more critical thinking skills and understanding the meaning of the problems and understanding what there saying....
That only applies to people studying for a Physics degree. HighSchool or lower Physics rarely involves tough mathematics.
@@eternaleffect2499 may I ask what grade of physics do u enjoy learning or do u just learning from youtube, lemme tell u, the physics u learn in youtube hardly ever gonna help u in ur research or science experiement, in yt , u thought u learn alot where u learn almost nothing from it. just the basic concept
I may have dropped out of college, but the dream lives on.
Love you Socratica for your every video.
thanks for another great video, socratica 💐👍👌

Why aren't they are saying how to study physics....we all know what is physics please....😑😑
They have . 1.First learn to appreciate physics. 2. Master all your basics. 3. A ton of Problem Practice.
Actually the most of the people don't understand what physics is, even when they think they're masters, basically because the physics you learn in highschool is what I call toy physics, concepts are not formal concepts, you don't even use calculus, experiments are not studied in a scientific way you just see what happens and try to relate the phenomena with theory based on that toy physics.
On the other hand, if you really know what physics is, I guess you don't need a video about "how to study physics", you must be a genius.
exercise. drill. practice.
I actually needed something like this to motivate me to start learning physics
I like what you guys are doing. Great job.
Thanks for saying that I am will be a better student after watching all of these videos, I have done it for 4 hours now instead of doing homework.
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I am loving that hoodie ..and great video , very useful
I have founded that this channel is interesting. Thanks for helping me. I will share this!
We're so glad you found us!
Thank you so much for sharing our channel. That really helps us grow! :D
"Anyone can do Physics"...yeah, unless you are in an Indian University cramming up derivations after derivations and trying to complete your degree in 3 years
Soumyaneel Manna
We just copy from the texts, remember every equation by heart and paste it on the exam sheets
sidharth cs, you must be talking about Engineering, or better Universities. In Calcutta University, you cannot only memorize the equations by heart. You also have to remember its derivations by heart too.
Soumyaneel Manna
I'm at calicut university
sidharth cs, Calicut University seems to be better than Calcutta University. Not to stereotype, but looks like Keralites are better at studies than Bengalis :-P
Hahaha so true
Thank you so much Ma'am.
It helped me lot.
THANK YOU.
Thanks for making this video this is very useful video for me
Great collab!
Learn C first so you not only get a very good understanding of programming, but a more intricate idea of how a computer works. After that, picking up other languages is pretty easy.
It's a warm summer evening, circa 600 BC. You've finished your shopping at the local market, or agora... and you look up at the night sky. There you notice some of the stars seem to move, so you name them planetes or wanderer.
Is this Big Bang Theory, in that one episode where Penny tried to have Sheldon teach her some physics so she could impress Leonard?
Thank youuu!
This video is really helpful
Nice video, nice editing, thumbs up.
every student at any level should watch these kinda videos
Hello Socratica, I am your Big Viewer.
So I am suggesting to make videos on TENSORS.
Did anyone notice the bob ross shirt heh😂 and great tips it really helped and made me understood physics better and wasn’t a boring interview on the internet ,really helped thanks .
Thank you so much.
Nice video, thanks
Awesome video..Both of you are modern day versions of Feynman..if you could be kind enough to do a video on Murphy's Law that would be awesome..plz
This video is very helpful i am a subscriber from morocco 🤗💖
Love u socratica help me most 🤩🤩
Love from Bangladesh. Excellent Video!!
I'm so dumb, but this video makes me fall in love with physics. Guys wish me luck as I am signing my death warrant today ordering me some IGCSE Physics books to start with.
Ahhhh you're going to have fun! 💜🦉
This inspired me to study of physics
From the video I feel you have to be passionate about the subject you want to study for.
The most important thing is Hardwork.
Physics + Socratica = Like before watching :D
We want more physics!
Awesome content
Holy shit! I'm doing a progression course at Exeter university. I go to Exeter College!
nice, how did it go or how's it going?
It gotta work for me. Everyone is different.
Hello sir, I'm majoring in physics or in Engineering physics my question is what is the best way to prepare for quantum physics and calculus is watching lectures a good start or to practice problems thank you
Did you get a way to study that works?
Thanks socratica
How can one learn physics when they only have math knowledge up until algebra one quadratics and still atruglws in mths?
I am very good at math, but physics is so difficult for me.I just don't get it and our teacher doesn't explain and yells at us when we don't get a thing right.
Passei por aqui pra dizer que sentimos sua falta no canal em português.
Sometimes I think I haven't done anything in physics, I am only reading it. This made me feel I am not good at it. Should I think so? Is it bad or does it make sense that I have not discovered or invented anything of my own?
you see... i would do more questions but I'm unsure if I'm doing them correctly... usually, there aren't answers available online after questions yk.... and generally, I'm a shy, anxious person, so asking my teacher every time, scares me.. it will be a lot of time and I'm sure she will get irritated
We totally get it! That's another reason why those books of solved problems are so useful. Hang in there!! 💜🦉
This is great, I think I'm going to declare my major as Art History...
What is the name of the background music at the beginning?
Where can i buy the socratica shirt tgat you've weared

I really hate physics but after this vid i really want to go and study physics now 😂
I want to continue my study with physics.. so how can i learn physics easily
Hi. Cool channel. It's got everything's that takes the life out of school (hard subjects coz' they're so abstract). God bless, Proverbs 31

I am not good in maths but i love doing physics in my olevels i got a D in maths but a B in physics
Well done you!! That's fantastic. Please don't give up on your maths yet! It really does help with everything. 💜🦉
One about math major... Could it be possible Socratica?
To become a physicist is like to become a Jedi, required disipline & lots of training & good masters/books.
My maths study is only algebra 1 section Iv gone pre-algebra, some trig and earlyer, can I jump to calculus so I can learn physics, iv not mastered trig algebra 1 and 2 yet, im just on polynominals algebra 1 right now.

Mathematics is language to deliver physics
Sis you are little late u published video 2 hrs after my physics paper ( exam)
Can you tell me books or textbooks to learn for physics and maths...i want to be a theoritical physicist
Get a jame Stewart calculus book, linear algebra and differential equations. Get the physics for engineering and scientist version. That a calc based version.
