That is without a doubt my favorite car of all time
You and me both brother. Thanks for watching.
I'm happy that the body and frame are all together again. You did an awesome job!
Thank you man. I appreciate you saying so.
Rockin' the old school tighty whities 👍
I like everything old school...
Well ,Well, Well, finally. She looks pretty sweet. I personally love the rake look. When i was a kid driving around in my 68 rs/ss camaro and the other guys were out cruzin at night , everyones car was raked. running 15" on the rear and 14" on the front with big rear shackles that were exposed. Bringing back some fond memories for me Brad. Great video and loved the 40 minutes. Now comes the real work. Great job .
Thanks a ton Randy. Yes, still tons to do, but I'm looking forward to every bit of it! I like a bit of rake, too, but might be a bit too much for my liking as she sits. That's the beauty of the adjustable coil overs I guess, as I can play with it a bit. I appreciate you always watching friend!
@@MontanaGarage Your channel us one of my favorite. Only wish you had more time to post. I know a working man has priorities, and most who watch know you work. Just keep on doing what your doing. She is gonna be awesome for sure.

Wow I am really glad I happened on to your site. Your work is really good and I enjoy listening to you as you work. Not to mention I'm an old man now but always a Chevy man. I had a 57 BelAir in 67 that I loved to work on. I look forward to you next video. Rich / NJ .
Thanks Richard I appreciate the kind words. Sorry it's been a while, but more content is coming soon!
That was amazing what you accomplished by yourself. An Awesome job! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Al!
I see the light at the end of the tunnel, Brad !!!! Great job, reminds me of my head aches that I went thru with my '55 2-door wagon ...
Thanks Ed, plenty of headaches, but totally worth it. 👊
Put the other 2 Cragar's from the '57 on it. Put the doghouse back on, and make it look like a car. Make sure you have all the trim---body molding, headlight buckets, window trim, tail lights, bumpers, door handles, locks, and all the bits to make it whole on the outside. Now is the time to take inventory so you know what you need to search for to finish the car. Seeing the Project as a car will give you the motivation you need to finish it.
Thanks for the tips. I'm definitely motivated, just need to get some more parts coming.
Thats looks good. 👌 It now look like your making headway. That will be a sweet ride when your done. Thanks for sharing and have a great Week 👍🏻 👋

@@Joe.Doucette Bummer. Hopefully catch you next time Joe!
I did something similar with the engine crane.i used lifting straps through all 4 Windows and brought the ends together in the middle above the roof and hooked the ends to a clevis and lifted it all with the crane. Then I pushed it above the frame from the side rather than the end. It was a little sketchy but it worked.55 is looking much better reunited with the frame.
I seen pics of people doing like that. More than one way to skin a cat as they say. Sorry Moose... haha Thanks for watching man!
Have had mine off and on a couple times. Each time did something different. Was using chain hoist on firewall and engine hoist on rear that made it easy. Will have the same issues as you this time due to body being turned around and will need to use an engine hoist on the front. Awesome video. And like you, I mostly work alone and have to be innovative on how to accomplish some tasks. Great Video. Keep Mobbin'.
Thanks Terry. One way or another a guy can usually figure something out. As always I appreciate you watching and commenting. I enjoy following along with your build on the Mob page so keep sharing and providing inspiration for the rest of us. 👊👊👊
Great job look how much more room you have in the garage!

Great video. Lots of ingenuity in this one too. Job well done. Looks great sitting there. Not sure what look you're going for but a set of big and littles on Cragars with the nose down a little would look great imo. Look forward to the next one.
Glad to see the Avs finally win one again. Was a great series. Watched them when they played in Quebec and have followed them all along.

In the start of your videos it says something about adventures, wouldn't mind watching some fishing and hunting videos. Just saying 😌
Thanks Stanley. It's great to have the body back on. Originally I planned on maybe sharing some adventure type stuff, but wasn't sure it'd work. I'm working on a couple vids I may show here, or start a second channel for them. Thanks for letting me know you'd be interested! 👊👊👊

@@MontanaGarage we learn to work with what we have at the moment looking forward for your next 357000 things to do next. I know exactly how you feel i have been working on my 1971 Olds 442 convertible for several years hope to get it back on the road soon or next millennium
@@rickyouthouse9583 Haha, soon or the next millennium, that is my timeline as well!
Wow next guy said it flew by so quick we have flew by for me in about 5 minutes. I watched first 3 minutes after I skipped through your hockey lecture. They want the rest of it in about 2 minutes time. It is a pain to put the body on the frame. Fortunately my experience is more pickup trucks so I can have the luxury of putting it on and basically two pieces. No you always want to put the front clip on with it bolted to the cab. If you can lock it up good enough. Simply all you got to do is go down one side put the bolts in leave them loose. Even use extra long bolts if you need to if they go up through the body like they do on the back of a Chevy cab say 67 through 72 and you have all the room in the world. Then go back and put in the proper length bolt if you have that much trouble putting it on your powder coated frame. I still hate wiring more than I hate putting the body back on the frame. I applaud you for showing all the details that you did. One thing that I did and I give credit to you Brothers. Is that I use jacks of course it blocks until not to scratch my pretty underside hopefully I use my stick cloth that's wrapped around the block and a little bit of cushion between the block and the cloth. And then I can add extra 2x4s and four before blocks between the jack and the cloth covered block. That's not the idea I got from Brothers the idea I got was he is the floor jack. Plus I use bottle jacks as well. I simply took a bunch of concrete blocks stack them up high enough at four pedestals and used 6x6s and I think I had to trim down the end a little bit to make them fit in the holes in the block lower it down on that roll my frame and underneath the cab in the front clip. Then begin to lower the roughly 6x6 landscape timber. So I need it three of them two were underneath the truck at all times and the third one was slipping it underneath it very much a pain in the butt way of doing it but I got by without any scratches or dents and I just simply load it down using jacks. Truck wagon jacks where you want to call him you get them at the Farm and home supply we jack it up pull a block lower it move to the front two pedestal repeat and keep going back and forth and then you floor jacks and assortment of other blocks to lower it down on the frame. I love your basic idea and I used the same principle to set it on top to 6x6 landscape timber. They weren't actually that big around. The best way would be to have a couple of gantries or A-frames and two people to lower it down if you're doing it without a big TV budget like you were doing what you 55. Anyway autocorrect wants to mess with it I let it go. The last car removal from a frame was a 67 four-door yeah supernatural type car. Still got one left anybody wants it? The next one will be at 57 Chevy and 56 and a 55 cuz I'm getting back to them. It's time to clean out the barn. Your car looks great. Shop around nowadays for a little better parts price on your body mounts. And I don't use playing rubber ones either. Okay man you got a great hot rod in process. I did enjoy your video and I wasn't hearing your part I just shared something what I thought might be another option for people on even less of a budget. After all that's what people do they look and read and figure out for themselves what's best for them. I did it and I'm sure you did that to you thanks for taking the time to make the video
Thanks for watching and sharing your way of doing it. I've seen pics/vids of people doing it similar to what you describe. Good luck with all your projects!

I'll be there! I'm not sure it'll be nice enough to included in all your badass Mob videos though...
Hockey is a cool sport. See what he did there lol.
Cool as ice! 👊👊👊
The area you put the jack under @5:24 is not very strong and caves in pretty easily. I spent hours getting mine back semi flat after doing the same thing for years. It looks like a great place for a jack but really isn't. Good job getting the old girl back in one piece, not a easy job by yourself for sure. Benchmark abrasives also makes some good, you guessed it abrasives. Sometimes they run a deal on their flap discs where all you pay for 10 of them is $10 shipping. That is a impossible deal to beat!
Thanks Walter. Yeah that cross member is already caved in on mine. I try and put the jack so it's under the "wall" of the frame as well, which seems to work. I'll check out the abrasives! Thanks for watching.
Seems like some cheap wheel dollies from HF would be handy in your garage.
Yes they would. The only thing cheaper than HF is me, so that's why I don't have any! They would be handy though, so I'll check 'em out. Thanks!

Thanks for checking in man. All good here, just haven't had much time for CZcams. New video coming soon though, so stay tuned!
I would have narrowed the axel for large meats. But I hate me. And a straight axel front end.
Thanks for watching Brad. No plans for the straight axle front end on this one, maybe the DDSS '57 once I two door it. The '55 will be getting a narrowed 9 inch and 13ish wide meats, that'swhy I did the spring pockets and mini tubs. Stay tuned as that is coming soon(ish). 👊
Do you think the 55 will be ready for power tour 2023? I'm working on my Oldsmobile and hoping to get it ready for power tour 23.
I'd love to do Power Tour someday. It may never be "done" but I plan on having it ready for something by next year, either Power Tour or some drag and drive event. Fingers crossed... Thanks for watching!
Great feeling, isn't it? It might come close to when the engine fires for the first time.
Awesome feeling for sure. I'm super motivated to get this thing together now. Thanks for watching.
The alignment problem with the back rails might have been from the rotisserie tweaking the body a bit
Could have been man, thanks for the suggestion. Everything "seems" hunky dory so far so fingers crossed all is good with that.
How did you measure to get your body mounts in the right place?
Thanks for watching Lewis. I believe I measured form the frame to the edge of the firewall in front, which was pretty easy and straightforward. I just made sure it was the same on both sides. On the rear, it was a bit tougher as there were no really good places to measure that would give me an obvious measurement. I kinda picked a few different spots and averaged it out, getting it centered the best I could.
@@MontanaGarage Thank you for the reply! I am watching your build with great interest.
There's a guy that has a 2 door and a 4 door for sale for $2000 but they are in Bad shape, They don't run and are disassembled. He did want $4000 but had no takers.
