In this video I am continuing the progress on the 55 chevy belair. In a last video we removed the engine and transmission. Now it is time to remove the frame. In this video I show you how to remove a trifive frame without a lift and in your garage. I went back and forth and thought of several ways to roll the frame out but this is the best I could come up with. If you are wanting to pull your frame or swap frames and a 1955 1956 or 1957 Chevy this video is a must see. We also did a test fit of the 6.0 LS engine and 4L80e transmission. The 4L80e will fit without any floor modifications. This project is going to be a ton of work but worth it in the end. I really want a family cruiser that is dependable and looks like I want it to look. With the Airride, LS Swap and Wheels, this thing is going to be a really nice 1955 Chevy Belair. Hit the Comments and let me know what you think.......

I commend you for your humble demeanor and your common sense approach, as well as being safe. Job well done Travis!
Thank you
Back when I was a kid most everybody that had a 55 Chevy ran them with the front bumper off… It looked pretty cool like that… thanks buddy
I like them with bumpers actually
I'm a carpenter, cinder blocks in that orientation are very weak. Cinder blocks are always installed holes up, then it will support a building. Great video and tutorial! Subbed.!
Thank you. Off them now.
Looks simple once it's out. You got the room, a two post can cut your time on many things and save your back. I would put that on your buy list.
I already have the wiring ran for one. One day I will get one in here
Dude! You are such and inspiration. Great video and I just can’t wait to see you take this wicked ride on a drive.
Thank you
Very practical
Muy bien maestro.
Gracias por compartir.
Saludos
Getting in some serious diy work on this one, but if anyone can do it and done right its you!! Looking forward to this project even more now.. ✌🏻
Thank you. Definitely going to be some work.
Nice job Travis.. be safe underneath it when you are working putting it back together...
Thank you Keith
I would use cribbing were you have the blocks (stack 2x4) or have some supports welded from 2x4 metal. Other that ... your good. Not to be the OSHA guy or anything. The blocks will likely hold, but have been known to crumble. When installed in a house they have rebar and are re-enforced with concrete. They also rely of other block for strength to spread the load which they don't have a lot of here. Its spread with the 4x4, but I'd personally roll a bit different. A lot of folks use blocks and they work until they don't. Really don't know how many failures there are, but I've heard of a few. All that said. Awesome work to get it out and get the frame repaired. As always look forward to the content.
Thank you. I may add a few extra
Price out blasting and powder coating the frame you’d be suprised how cheap it is and will be super clean i priced out my Obs and it was 300 bucks
I may end up doing that
My dream car love it
Thank you. Me too
You just saved me 4k on a 2 post lift Brother!
Lol. Believe me a 2 post would be way better.
the car is so nice I don't even see why you need to take it apart!
good info though, I am going to split my 57 and I have yet to see a good way to support the body until this video.
Thank you. Hopefully it helps others.
Old man's garage just did a power steering and power brakes and tilt column on a 55 a couple of weeks ago. Nice people I'm sure would give part numbers all that.
I have most of the stuff
I just found y’all’s channel and I love it! Well done! Also, you make me nervous with those stacks of blocks sitting there. I would have put two blankets over them just in case I stumbled and fell, knocking them into the car. 🤣
Thank you. It is all situated now. No stacks to trip on.
@@TWAMotorsports I’m excited to follow you guys! We do a lot of the same things, I just don’t have a channel.
You need to start one
@@TWAMotorsports We shall see. A lot of people have told me to start one for my other business, but I have some organizing to do before I do that. We had a series TV show lined up with a company out of Europe for my other business, but COVID hit and the company had to close. Maybe someday I can on one or the other. I think it would be a ton of fun, especially since I used to film and edit television style episodes back in the day.
Definitely doesn't hurt to get started on CZcams
Nice little 55 like it my dad had a yellow and white I like that blue and white stands out it was a 265 small block three on the tree
Thank you. I love them.
WOW!, Concrete blocks to support the body. EDAD!!!!!
Better idea?
Awesome job! They make body carts that you can bolt together and slide up under the body bolt it down through the body mounts and that way you can move the body around if you need to and there much safer than how you have it, they can also be used to set truck beds on, which as much truck work you do it would come in handy!
Probably need something like that.
The 4x4 on the rockers is great. However, your blocks are sideways and they have NO STRENGTH this way, the must have the holes going UP, this is how people get killed using blocks instead of jackstands.
That's what I hear
Personally, I would have turned the cinder blocks crosswise to the 4x4. It makes me anxious as hell that would wooble and go sideways.
It is solid. Frame wouldn't come out with them that way either
Did you have any issues with the nose moving or fenders bending into the doors?
No I didn't
@@TWAMotorsports good to know
Hopefully it doesn't
When are you ordering a 2 post lift?
Not sure yet
A broken frame is not the death nail.
Already fixed
I SPENT 60 HOURS CONVERTING MINE TO NEAR ROADSTER SHOP DESIGN. THEN POWDERCOAT. ITS VERY BITCHEN.
20:23
?
So I'm guessing it's going to be a restoration project?
Not completely
@@TWAMotorsports are u going to repaint the car?
No
@@TWAMotorsports I'm guessing your just doing the frame work plus the motor
Rewiring too
weld the bleepin crack
Already done
Block should be on the sides not that way do you build a house like that the house would fall over
I can always flip them
why do people dummy fit a dirty engine don't they know how to clean parts
Must be dumb
I have to tell you, you exhausted me watching you do this. Get to the point. Holy mackerel dude. I'm going to finish watching the video but you've exhausted me.
Glad you felt the need to let me know how you felt. What is your channel name? I will go watch it to learn how its done.
Dude, your concrete blocks are positioned wrong. You are endangering your life.
Good news I am not under it
I did Al my self on my 65 SS Impala
Nice
