Your goals for your truck are exactly what I’m trying to achieve in my 2012 gmc sierra. I picked up my truck 2 years ago and thought I was getting a dependable truck. Based on the history I had with my 2004 gmc Sierra I had no idea GM started doing AFM DOD on the newer models. Well now I know and have been seriously stressing about it. Currently my pickup has no issues at all run great. But from everything I have read and watched on CZcams about these trucks. A collapsed lifter is bound to happen eventually. And all I want is a dependable truck. When I picked it up it only had 97k on it and I probably way over paid for it to begin with. But it was clean and i couldn’t find anything else at that time 2021 right in the middle of Covid.

I have a 2012 gmc Sierra it has 137k no issues YET. But I want to do the delete just so I know I’ll have a dependable truck again. Ever since finding out about this AFM DOD crap I have been stressing. I always do my oil changes but apparently that doesn’t make any difference. These lifters are eventually going to fail.

SS convertable is looking pretty sharp with the lowering springs and Bilstein shocks and struts.... 👍

What do you use to paint the dash? Same stuff?

What part number did you use for the a arms? I have a lot of camber on mine thanks in advance

I have a 2000 Yukon. Replaced throttle position, O2 sensor and fuel pump. Also new in line fuel filter, and plugs but not new wires. Running alot better but still doing it. Not showing any codes. Any ideas!!!

So I have an 01 extended cab that already has power windows, mirrors and locks that got hit in the doors and found doors from an “identical” 06 and bought them without knowing about the different way they were powered. In this case it’s just a matter of transferring the harness, switches and door panel from the bad door to the other?

What sizes lowering kit you have on it?

Just ran across this video. As a professional detailer for about 20yrs, water is fine with the paint quality you are working on now....however, on paint that is fairly nice please do not use just water! Soap is honestly what I use in any situation for clay baring. detail spray is not good to use either, because most detail sprays have sealants, waxes or protectants in them so it makes polishing harder. Nice job though brother! You are using the best pads & polishes as well. That's all ive used. M105 and all that does not come in my shop anymore LOL. PRO TIP> Iron remover is nice to use as a claybar lube as well. 😉, also, BIG pro tip, with paint as heavy oxidized as you have here, blow out your pad with compressed are after every time you get done polished before you polish another area. if you dont all your doing is spreading all the dead paint you just buffed off, back on to the paint somewhere else and working against yourself, not so much for efficiency, but for better results. But dude you did a great job!! it looks WAAAY better!

Have you ever experienced drive line vibration after lowering a fbody?

I usually just bend those brake brackets back a little and I slip the lca brackets in. Just thought I'd bring it up if someone was doing this install and didn't have a cut off wheel. Great tips on the front removal!

Definitely looks better with an altitude adjustment.

Just an FYI, The screw on the bottom of the door panel does not need to come out. It does not fasten the panel to the door. All it does is secure the “tray” to the door panel itself.

That the dust boot on the front shocks isn't bilstein blue bothers me.

After these f body cars are lowered anything need to be done to pinion angle on driveshaft ?

Doing this to mine. Also upgrading that alternator wire should helpnas well.

Hey Travis I have a 2019 Yukon XL I'm thinking about lowering it what would be the best equipment to use and can you list it for me thank you I was thinking about Go in with 26-in wheels or with 24s should I go 4/6 but I do like your drop

I really like this project and it's turning out really well. I know you like to glue the plastic trim parts, but in my experience the glue never bonds well enough to interior plastic. I like to use two different types of plastic welders. The first type I use basically looks like a soldering gun, but with an arrow tip. I repair from the backside and basically use the part I'm repairings own plastic to bond itself. In some cases I'll use zip ties as filler rod on the repair. If I need a little strength added to the part I'll embed some stainless steel screen into the plastic to reinforce the repair. The other type of plastic welder I use is the hot staple gun type which works well for long cracks. In either case the smell of the melting plastic can be a bit overpowering so I usually do these repairs outside.
