I really like the Bare Metal look as opposed to the Faded paint & rusty look that so many Hotrodders have on their old Cars. If you are Not going to paint it then This is the Look to Have! One thing for sure is that Your Tri-Five will Stand out from the Crowd!
Thanks man. One positive of it to me is that it is different. I'm not sure if different ids good, but it is different.
Look, You got a One of a Kind! And that's the Best to Have Because Nobody has Else has One!@@MontanaGarage
Awesome man !! thanks for wearing my shirt on ur channel thanks for the massive shout out bro cheers man !! Nationals was awesome until a canopy flew from another site and hit the All American😂 !! Nice repair on the lower quarter panel can’t even tell that shark hide makes the 55 look amazing !!!
You bet Fiano. Thanks for watching. Bummed to hear the All American took a hit at Nats. Coulda been worse, but still a major bummer.
Come on Brad she deserves a paint job so the outside looks as good as the under side love it no matter what stance and wheel and tire choice perfect
Thanks Dave. It may see some paint someday, but for now I'm digging it like this. Might be because I'm too lazy to do all the body work, but I don't think so...
Definitely not lazy
That turned out pretty slick. I love the way it changes as you view it from different angles. Great video. Enjoyed watching ✌️ 😎
Thank you Stanley!
Looks great brad …..
Thanks David!
I think it looks good. $70 is definitely well worth it and it’s easy to apply. 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks Cory!
The car is looking kick ass man!
Thanks man!
WOW I think you nailed it , I bet it's about like that sweet patina sauce you wipe on . maybe clear coat it would be cool also
Thanks man!
You have an awesome car Brad! You deserve it with all the hard work you have already done on it. I really enjoy your videos as you tell it like it is. Keep up the great work.
Thanks Al I really appreciate that man!
Yup, Unique, Cool, Your Style….I like it…..As Always…. You Can Always Change It If Your Desire….Desires It!
Thanks man. That what I figure. For now I dig it, but that may change later. Thanks for watching!
Chick's dig scars! I like the bare metal. The repairs tell a story.
Thanks Keith! I dig it, too!
Agreed, looks great!! I'm gonna check this Shark Hide stuff out for my boat. Cheers!! 😎
Sweet. Thanks man!
Looks great Brad! Love the look.
Holy shit Hector thanks for watching man. Much appreciated. I don't know if you'd remember, but I used to have pics of this car on my locker in the barracks back in the day. It has been with me for a while. Hope all is well. Curahee!
Man that looks awesome ! I like the look !
Much appreciated!
Looks good Brad! Easy to apply too.
Thanks man. Yeah, it was pretty darn easy. I am still digging the look so far.
OUTSTANDING mate bloody fabulous.
Thanks man. Much appreciated!
The old '55 looks fantastic. Not my cup of tea but if you like it that's all that matters. Sounds spectacular. Hope the title issue gets resolved asap so you can get out for some real rips!! Look forward to more. Be safe and stay well.
Man it took forever to get that dang title but it's all good now. Thanks Brian!
Looks pretty good there Brad, at least it will be protected until you decide what you want to do next with the body. Hopefully you’ll have your regi sorted out soon so you can put some miles on it! That opening shot there of the chassis is the bomb! Looks and sounds soo good! Have a great rest of the week!
Thanks man!
The 55 looks great! Fiano is the man! Definitely gotta meet him when ya get a chance. Thanks for thw video im looking at possibly keeping a car bare for a bit myself.
Thanks man. Yeah I am looking forward to hopefully someday meeting Fiano in person. Good luck with the project!
Brad car looks awesome 👌 hope it holds up.
Thanks man. Me too!
Your car is amazing!
Much appreciated man!
Loved the synchronized “hey” and towel drop 😂
Thanks! I thought it was cool, too. Just trying different stuff. I appreciate the feedback!
looks good Brad.
Thanks a ton Randy!
Great idea, ya don’t see a bare metal 55 very often so it’s very unique and looks awesome.
Thanks man. I think that is the main thing I like about it, it is different! I appreciate you watching!
The car is looking good.
Thanks Mike. I appreciate you watching. Hope all is well!
HELL YES, LOOOOOOOOOOKS GREAT Brad👍👍🙏🙏🏆🏆
Thanks man!
Very cool!!! 👍👍
Thanks man!
Very cool 😎
👊
My 70 F250 has been bare for 5 years this month. I just used cheap spray wax, kept it in the garage and never drove it in the rain. I'm gonna give this a whirl and not worry about a few sprinkles. Great video, Thanks!
Thanks man. I got caught in the rain the other day and no issues so far. Good luck!
One things for sure, it's a cool looking car. Underside looks great!
Thanks man I appreciate that!
Well done! I’ll be doing my Kawasaki Fuel tank 1999.
BTW I think 2 coats made big difference!❤
Thanks man. Good luck with the tank!
The 55 looks great mate! 👍
I wonder if anyone has Cold Blued a car before? 😂
Haha my buddy is big into guns and he was just talking to me about that. Thanks for watching!
Brad couldn’t agree more 80 great scratches looks great on metal. Finer sand paper starts to make it look hazy. Love the way your going with it. Are you going with chrome bumpers and side trim? Looking great man 👍😎✌️
Thanks Kevin. My trim isn't in great shape, but I need to dig it out and see what I can salvage. I plan on running the side trim, trim around the glass, and a rear bumper. No front bumper though.
I also like the bare metal look. I just took all the paint off my old powerwagon and I'm leaving it that way. I might clear coat over the bare metal idk yet.
Cool. Try the Sharkhide on your baremetal, it looks awesome I think. I appreciate you watching!
It would look good yellow and white
Meh, not a big yellow fan myself. Thanks for the tip though!
@@MontanaGarage your welcome buddy
Brad
The bare metal is tough!!
I’ve known about Sharkhide for years but had never used it.
Thanks for making this video. Your car looks fantastic 👍🏻
Thanks man I appreciate you watching and saying so. Let me know if you give it a try!
@@MontanaGarage copy that 👍🏻
Keep your videos coming
Brad Bud been watching u for quite awhile on the oh Chevy, Did a heck of job building it Bud . Even though you did something's a few things over and over LOL just kidding, But Man don't know about u but I love the it looks of the bare metal 👍 PS u get the spot on the rear end 🤔 Have a good one Bud 👍✌️
Thanks Lonnie. I appreciate you always watching. I did almost all of it at least twice but it eventually turned out, huh? I did get the spot on the rear but thanks for the reminder!
Good video Brad! I do like the bare metal look. I wonder how it would work on my 55. 🤔
Thanks Gorni. I guess maybe you don't know your '55 is dead ass perfect as it is? I love that thing...
I love bare metal!
Thanks man. Me too! I appreciate you watching.
Have you thought of using Hot rod Black satin as a color to paint your ride ?? It's pretty awesome and looks great !!
I considered it for a while, but went with this superior look instead!
Springtime is here! How has it held up?
All good still, but it has had very little exposure to rain/water so far. It should see some weather soon, so hopefully it keeps on keeping on.
Brad will you put the Bummers back on ?
I plan on putting the back bumper on, but not the front. Thanks for watching!
Does this work on chrome or polished parts??
Thank you
Hmm, not sure Nando. I would guess the answer is no, but you may want to check the Sharkhide website to see what the experts have to say. Thanks for watching!
Looks good Brad. Are you going to run bumpers ?
Thanks Howie. I will run a rear bumper, but no front.
That appling look easy but what is with tiny spaces which are more inside, underneath, between areas and stuff. I think this coat is not fully indeed for a rust protection on cars to drive around with bare metal
So far so good for me. It's only been wet a couple times, but no rust starting yet. Thanks for watching.
@@MontanaGarage Not sure if I can get that clear protection here in Turkey. Isn't it somewhat like 2k clear coat or epoxy clear coat for boats?
How has this held up under some weather?
So far so good. It's only been rained on one time and spends most of its life inside, but it still looks like the day I applied it. Thanks for watching and asking!
👍👍
👊👊👊
Curious how it lasted?
It still looks the same as the day I applied it. The car doesn't spend much time outside, and I think it only got rained on once, but so far so good. Thanks for watching!
I hate to ask if it's bad topic but .. Where's Moose ??? Miss Him
Moose is all good. He just spends a little more time doing cat things when the weather is nice like this. He'll be back in future vids for sure. Thanks for watching.
OK. I have to admit.. it does look good.
Since you have had the old gal unpainted (even inside) for as long as you have then it should last for a decent time, in your climate.
I've never been able to see bare metal outside long enough to know if I like it. ;)
A normal day here and after a couple of hours bare metal isn't bare anymore. It's got that gold/yellow rust look. And if you blast or chemically clean the metal then you actually can watch it's flash rust before your eyes.
In my eyes it sure does look better than the fake patina or rust. But to each their own.
No one has to like it other than you.
Now.. use your fancy time machine and show us how it stands up to the weather.
What?? We have to wait?
Man.. that bites.
Thank Joe. Hopefully I'll get to actually drive it a bit more soon, and it may encounter some inclement weather at some point. Time will tell how it stand up to it.
Dang, she's a beauty.i guess once this is done the chevelle is next?
Thanks. The Chevelle was planned to be next and it MIGHT be next. However, I now have my eyes on another project for the channel. Stay tuned for more on that...
@@MontanaGarage awesome, can't wait to see it.
Heat makes SharkHide thin out and looks scabby after a couple years,,which i guess isn't too bad.But before you can re-apply you must remove the old,,which is were the bitch is. It does take some harsh chemicals like brake kleen and some elbow.
Thanks for watching and for the tips. All good so far with the Sharkhide. I did think I could just add more without removing it though so I'll have to double check that for sure.
I would at least primer it !
Maybe someday, maybe not... Thanks for watching.
Hey Brad, You're gonna have to stert on a new 55 project car. Not much to watch on youtube lately for tri fives...
Haha. Well I'm up for that for sure! I will be posting some videos catching you guys up to where I'm at know so stay tuned!
Why is it no one wants to paint a car anymore 😮😮😮😮😮
Paint ain't for everybody....
@@MontanaGarage Why is it all the paint guys say it HAS to be painted? I prefer things not "the norm". Very cool, dig it. Like my bare metal 70 F250...not another one like it. Wish I could share a pic of it. It's pretty damn cool.
Its either old paint or the b s patena crap the future sucks thats all im saying crap
Paint is cool, but I dig the patina stuff as well, probably even more. Guess I am part of the problem...
Interesting product ; I have heard of it before. it will be interesting to see how it does in Montano. Here ; in Ontario where I live I am not so sure if it would work. Even older cars sitting outside tend to disintegrate over time ( high humidity , lack of sun ,etc.) . Anyway good luck and looking forward to more updates.
Thanks man. It's been rained on and no issues yet!
You missed a spot.
Probably a couple. Did you see how fast I was going? Hard to be consistent at that speed haha
@@MontanaGarage I know man, just bust’s yer balls. 🤣 You did a good job the finish reflects the rest of the car with its imperfections and scars, I like it.
That is really nice, and for $70 what a deal, nicely done Brad. 🫵🏼💯🆒🇺🇸
Thanks man!
Your car, your choices. 😮
Maybe paint it. Lol
Thanks man. Maybe, maybe not...
