Hmong syllable structure is one of the less conplex in the world (consonant + vowel + semivowel + ng in sone dialects). There are not enough possible sound combinations to create a full vocabulary, so tones and a larger variety of consonants are used. Thatâs why in Hmong it is very important to pronounce all sounds and tones right. In English it wouldât create such misunderstandings because of the other sounds in the word that create a stable context.
Wow - how did you learn how to pronounce the work so well- I was born with my parent who speak Hmong and I donât even sound near as good as you when speaking Hmong. And I know 4 languages.
