    wow excellent job, video and tutorial. the "c" is one of the hardest for foreigners to pronounce and it really distinguishes the natives from the foreigners. you got it down pat and you even understand the linguistic mechanics, outstanding!

    Yes, Hmong language is harder than Chinese. The Hmong flowers language is the most hardest to learn.

    Weird for me for some reason it sounds like "Ch" like chat? like when I say tsev idk i cant explain it or when I said tshiab or tsheb i make the "ch". Idk am i crazy?
    oh yeah edit um i know the h on tshiab makes it have the puff out breath but um for the tsev it sounds like Ch and J together
    It would be cool to know what you think about it. Ill try out the J though

    "nts" sounds like "j". "ts" slightly sounds a little different than "j"

    Very good that is the white hmong dialect. Green dialect is much easier

    I beg to differ on the Hmong consonant ts sounding like the j in English. I think the Hmong consonant nts is closer in sound to the English j. Good video overall.

    A lot of Hmong words are very similar. This is only the beginning. Only through hearing can you learn true Hmong.

    Go back, those, tiger, warm, rice are very similar in sound and sometimes spelling like many other words in Hmong.

      I would have to disagree with you. “ts” is indistinguishable from the English “j” consonant. The linguists who developed written Hmong added the “n” to “ts” to indicate a prenasal sound. One example is the words “tsib” and “ntsib”. “Tsib” means the number five whereas “ntsib” means to meet someone (among other things.)

    Tiger= H --->tch, hitch =tch+o=tchov=tsov. Ly foung s posted tsov is only 50% near correct pronunciation. Very impressive though.

      @@JeffreyDBohn You can disagree all you want, you're wrong about TS = J. It would be wrong to write your name Jeff in Hmong as "Tsej", the correct or closest to it would be" Ntsej". C, CH, NC, NCH, TS, and NTSH don't have English equivalent. NTS would be "G" (as in gee, George, gym, gel etc. NOT good, girl, game, gun, gorilla etc..) or "J" (as Jeff, Jack, judge, june, jam etc.). Funny how you can easily distinguish "tsib" from "ntsib" but "Tsej" and "Ntsej" is indistinguishable to you.
