The Stop Killing Games movement really needs this kind of coverage, especially because according to US law, what we really pay for is access to the content of any given game, not ownership of it. Thank you Jon for speaking about it.
Because when you go digital you're basically just purchased in the license to use that content not the game that's why I've never go fuly digital
how is the game dead? can understand if it were digital games but splatoon and M Maker aren't really included in the category
We literally agree to it when we buy it .. its been that way since the beginning.. every game manual explained it.. we buy the rights to access the program.. its the same for movies.. this is more for the danger of digital only that apperantly most people support
I like that the Stop Killing Games campaign is starting to gain steam. I've seen a several other creators talking about it outside of the fella spearheading the movement. Give that man support! Let's make some changes!
Have a cry. If this is what’s keeping you up at night, then I’d suggest you reevaluate your life priorities.
If you were benefitting like me and getting paid yearly dividends from these gaming corporations, you wouldn’t be so salty and extremely unsatisfied in your life.
These games should have an offline mode with bots as a legal workaround.
The industry is already on life support. It’s not like any of this matters anyway
Playing cod in split screen on wiiu was best
@@cbgg1585He never said he was extremely unsatisfied with life. Your comment itself is shallow, perhaps what he misses is memories with friends - I just find it strange we, as functioning adults, think it’s righteous to step all over a fellow human lying in exhaustion.
The Wii U stumbled so the Switch could run
Personally I think the wiiu was just a bit early , but now I see you're correct,
The switch fucking flew
Correct take.
@@__BlacklotuS__It was underpowered but the bigger problem was how it was initially marketed. If it was released a couple of years later with better hardware it certainly would have made a stronger impression at least.
Underpowered for you that's a preference I don't think it was, I just think it was early and they rushed out new tech so it just wasn't the right time
Nobody other than hardcore Nintendo fans gave the Wii U the time of day until the eShop and online servers were going down. Where was that level of passion and love when the Wii U needed it the most? I don't care that people are just now starting to like the Wii U, it's just annoying that people are trying to revise history now.
It’s true
I really hope the conversation around ownership vs a license starts to heat up and we get to a future with actual digital ownership in the near future
Keep dreaming, meanwhile don't forget to buy physical.
Actual digital ownership lmaoooooo
Yeah not happening just buy physical
You only own a license with physical media as well.
@@NuiYabuko if they brick your physical "license", just jailbreak your system. If they brick your digital license, you'll just have to Edward Snowden your way through THEIR servers to get your games back.

Very sorry to hear about your loss. You will always have Spawnwave to remember them by.
I hope the Stop Killing Games campaign pushes public conversation to the importance of physical media in film and TV as well
I've been playing my 3DS online a lot, going from pokemon to mario kart 7 and animal crossing, so much is going to be lost and I can only hope the multiplayer games have a halo moment where fans create a way to play online after the shutdown. Its been fun while it lasted, goodbye free online 😔
They have, it's called pretendo
@@Enzed_ So it begins, this is the way 😌
They have. You can even play online for gen 4 games. There's a specific server you can use. Theres videos on CZcams about it.
Boutta remod my 3ds to have pretendo on it
It sucks I couldn't play my 3DS since I needed a new Circle Pad covering and to get the screen replaced so I could play.
Glad to see that I can still do.
Question: are game-specific DLCs preserved?
"Xbox's upcoming ps5 release" is a wild sentence haha, I totally forgot about it.
only sounds wild if you use the xbox brand name. it should be ms upcoming ps5 release
Just release xenoblade X from the Wii U jail.
With the feature to reduce bgm volume 😂 After so many hours in that game I was ready to tear my hair out when the city theme came on.
And Windwaker HD... And Twilight Princess HD
Yes please
That game is harder to port than people think, that shit is huge and very demanding
It’s ranging from $80-$140 on Amazon right now and the game isn’t even ten years old yet
The Wii Ü/3DS online services ending is bittersweet. Gonna spend all day on Splatoon before switching over to Pretendo.
- The Switch was actually the "Wii U Pro" all along.
- The Wii U is what the Wii should have been.
- The Wii U is a modern day Dreamcast. A gen. 5.5 and 7.5 system respectively. They both have a controller with a monitor. They both were, for a short period, the most powerful system.
The Wii was what the Wii needed to be, it didn't need to be the Wii U. And the Wii U was never the most powerful system at any time. It had more RAM, that's about it.
@@ProjectDv2 And GPU. Just not CPU.
@ThighFish true, but given the CPU didn't even toe-up with the Xbox 360, all that graphical headroom was essentially wasted. It simply wasn't the most powerful of its generation. Unless, of course, you count the period of time where it was the *only* console of its generation, then yeah, it wins by default for a hot minute.
@@ProjectDv2 Also note that the 360’s CPU was on par with the One and PS4, and the PS3’s was even more powerful than its successor.
I’ll never go all digital! I hand a buddy in Russia and when the war started Sony froze his and everyone else’s PlayStation accounts and they had no access to their digital games they had purchased
Don’t go digital. The world doesn’t revolve around you. Corporations still profit and the yearly dividend payouts I see from the likes of Apple and Microsoft are as strong as ever. 🤣😂
Not true, speaking as a Russian myself. You can still download the games you’ve already purchased, but the PS store itself is unavailable, nor are any new games, even though you can still see them on your front page with the actual prices. It’s a pain in the ass, but the workaround is to create an alternative account, where you can buy games and subscriptions trough some 3rd party websites selling codes and then using your purchases on your main account with multiplayer as your PS Plus subscription is shared across your main console and its accounts.
I would always buy physical copies when I have a chance, but it takes too long to wait for them ti be shipped to the local stores, so it’s way easier for me to get them day one digitally on my US profile.
Although there were scenarios when people’s consoles were banned. Most noticeably on Xbox and Switch, though. Many Xbox’s were affected, but not mine, thankfully.
if you follow gaming into the future you will go all digital. SURE you can play old games on disc/cartridge but how long before those get old? broken? Stop fighting progress. Just go with it and you'll not even care soon.

Everyone: "Bring the old CoD games to Xbox via backwards compatibility!"
Me: "Where are the old Crash and Spyro games?"
Isn't CoD *already* backwards compatible, though? Well... CoD 2 and beyond, I should say.
Me :- where are the new games?
Exactly, none of the 2000s crash and spyro games are playable on modern hardware, they dont have remakes like the og triologies or ctr and they dont have remasters. The xbox versions of those games have never been made backwards compatible with the newer xbox one or series consoles yet
@lemon5000-tj6nv Shane that hasn't happened.
SPYRO A HERO'S TAIL BABY
The Stop Killing Games thing is fantastic. I paid for Destiny 2 when Forsaken came out only to have it go free to play and then they removed all the content prior to Forsaken.
For all the derps who want to say "it's been out long enough for you to have played it" I'm glad you like renting games for full purchase price. I prefer to own what I paid for.
With Xbox setting up a team dedicated to game preservation, even if it is just digital preservation like you said, what are the odds that we see that Microsoft patent where you could convert your Physical games to Digital games come to fruition? We know they are releasing a Digital Only Series X, so I feel like it'd make sense
The biggest hurdle for backwards compatibility, at the least the way that it's done on the Xbox, is licensing.
A huge portion of ABK games are licensed properties, especially up to 2016, and even things like music or likenesses of people or objects can throw a wrench in the works.
It's not just a gaming issue, movies and TV can suffer from this as well when a license for a song can keep it from being re-released or messes with the scene (see Wayne's World and No Stairway scene).
Yeah, I'd like for Microsoft to build in a system WM that emulates the OS so that one can just drop the disk in and play if you own a physical copy.
The problem with this is that there's no money in it because Microsoft can't sell a digital copy
That's the issue with rereleasing a ton of games. It's easier to just move forward with the ips they actually own. Who actually cares enough about the old games that much anyway. Those of us who do tend to still own them as well as the console they released anyway lol
Ross did an amazing job with Stop Killing Games.
You losers keep protesting while the dividend yields I see on the yearly keep getting stronger. 10-12+ years of equities investing (including strong portfolio positions in the various gaming megacorps) and the payouts I see has never been stronger.
Games ain’t dying, mate. People like you really believe the world revolves around you? If you were debt free like me and consistently having the lick of these billion dollar corporate ice cream, then you wouldn’t be so salty and actually endorse such a pointless campaign/protest.
The thing about the WiiU is that this tried things and is the spiritual father/mother of the Switch. (And the Steam Deck, if the Valve interviews are to be believed, this is the WiiU which inspired them, not the Switch.)
I’m gonna miss 3DS/Wii U online multiplayer. I have so many fond memories of playing YWBlasters online and taking down ultra bosses with others.
Mod them, install Pretendo and then nothing has to be missed.
Bye 3ds 😢
Dont understand why they have to shutdown the online , why cant they just leave it open
I see no reason why youtube pulled support for the new 3DS's browser, I would still use it while out & about.
“We’ve not had the chance to have rules, regulations, laws catch up”. Because that’s the main point of doing the move, Jon… It’s what happened with netflix and streaming at first. Companies create a new venue to do their business, that lacks any regulations or consumer advocacy rules to be able to profit for as long as they can however they want before government applies them. They don’t usually have to hurry because applying such regulations is very slow. However, this digital market in videogames they expected to have ever since the itunes store exist, yet we’ve resisted too long, hence why they seem in a hurry.
Good morning guys! Today I start a new job so wish me luck! I may need to watch the rest of the video later today.
At this point the only thing Xbox has is backward compatibility. They made a shit move already by blocking emulators. I was seriously considering buying a Series X for emumation only but after killing it it is totally pointless to buy one. And I never had a 360 so no Nostalgia dose for me.
"series X for emulation only"...wait, what? wh- Staredown.exe has stopped working.
No, you weren't. Stop lying and trying to make up stuff about thinking of buying a Series X. Oh, I'm sorry Microsoft didn't let you emulate other consoles that they clearly don't own and would have got a notice by Nintendo and Sony. What a bunch of bs. You know what you sound like? A 🤡
You can still emulate just get a developer account. But you have to have a internet connection to switch between dev mode & your game library
@@The_Goddess_Minerva I thought they banned one or two emulators like Dolphin. Majority of people who are looking into emulation want to emulate Gamecube and Dolphin and they banned it before Steam did the same thing I believe. But feel free to correct me.

Aw man, WIIU does not deserve its reputation. I have so many fond memories of it. I understand the sales were terrible, but the console was awesome. The WIIU walked so the Switch could run.
WiiU has so much potential that should have been pursued.
Microsoft has some guys talking about game preservation, when they are the ones moving towards an all digital future.
You realize Sony is as well right?
@@RubyRose23328 yet Microsoft is doing more to push the digital only narrative
@@mitchjames9350 Actions speak louder than words. Both Microsoft and Sony are pushing to all digital where you don't have a physical copy. Heck the latest release by Sony is always online and cannot be played offline. So the disc is worthless when the servers shut down.
When I think of game preservation I don’t think of physical. Physical Just makes me think of collectors buying expensive cores of older games. Emulation is what I think of for game preservation.
The only way to preserve the games is digital preservation. Physical versions are not forever. They take space. They can be stolen, electrified, broken. They will stop working at some point. They need to fix the laws about digital ownership. Do you know what most of those game preservationist? When they buy, if they can, they back the game in digital for. For example switch games.
Let's get real. The real reason why John is against to digital games is that he is collector. He want his games to go rare and increase in value.
Playing Zelda wind waker with the map on the gamepad screen was the best. They really utilized that feature well.
I finally got a Wiiu three weeks ago just to mod it. Now it’s loaded with everything from NES to Wiiu. Thanks to MVG for the recent home brew videos!
Activision, why not give Pitfall Harry some love?
I mean, Atari tried to reinvent some of their older titles (and Alone in the Dark) for modern platforms, and it just crashed and burned for a multitude of reasons, namely the games they chose to reboot being tied far too closely to the 2600's technical limitations to warrant them getting brought back for a modern audience.
The Pitfall Harry 3D platformer was tons of fun. I would buy an HD version of that, but a sequel to it would be the bees knees. I still quote the dynamite-throwing aussie villains. "Gorgeous!"
The best games on Switch were already on WiiU is why we all adore it like we do
Thanks a bunch for the mention! While Americans have much more limited options than other countries on this, the benefits are likely to be global if we have a win anywhere. The more complaints that get filed in the right places, the better, this is starting to get traction, especially in Europe. I'm certain this is the closest we've ever come to having countries examine the legality of companies destroying people's games. We're going to get answers one way or another.
It's really sad and infuriating that US laws give little to no leeway for a victory for us gamers. I live in Colombia and consumer laws here are treated as a joke, so the only thing I can do is to help spread the message with the hope that at least one person can make the difference. Nevertheless, thank you for all your efforts, Ross!
The thing I miss the most is the Virtual Console, that thing was amazing on both the Wii U and 3DS, NSO will never be as good as VC was to the consumer. Now losing their Online function hurts just the same, feels great that I can just boot it up and play online again.. we really took a lot for granted back then. EDIT: Also call me crazy but I still think the Wii-U Pro controller (shape and stick orientation wise) was the best. If they made a switch pro controller designed to look like it I'd buy that instantly.
Me too, I had fond memories with the Nintendo DS-WiiU over the years!
I hate how Nintendo treats fans or older Nintendo consoles like garbage!
Well the Switch virtual console is unsustainable yet people are still asking for pokemon mainline gameboy games. Sure thats great and all but you put in the time for those games and yet those games only work with a subscription.
"What if nintendo closes the switch store? "
"Oh well theyll probably carry it on with switch 2"
The point still stands in which you rely on a server to play your games. You remember that time you spent 3 hours getting that shiny pokemon? Yeah that's all gone since nintendo decided to turn off the servers for that game. Your save is probably still in the switch but you dont have the means to play it anymore.
@@keeganmcfarland7507 Good times indeed, all those people I met and may never see again helped to make some great memories I didn't think I'd look back on. Exactly, im baffled at how the switch succeeded with the cuts they made, hardware and software wise it feels pretty bland compared to the wii u and 3DS, The Switch library for sure carried the systems popularity, being a hybrid also helped quite a bit and I do enjoy that aspect, a shame all these newcomers will never experience the VC though.
Never played OG FF Tactics and while I don't have intentions of playing the old one, I would LOVE a *FF Tactics remake or sequel* down the road.
I’m glad Microsoft understands the importance of game preservation. Some of those old games are like a favorite song to us gamers… imagine not being able to listen to an album because it was released on CD
More like imagine not being able to listen to an album even if you OWN the CD.
I would love a new FF Tactics game
Thinking XCOM kill/move cams, but FF. Nice!
Spencer made an interesting comment about game preservation.
He suggested that PCs were the home of game preservation. Which is why its included in the xbox platform.
I feel like that's a pretty sensible take.
Well, it's true. PC gaming is best at game preservation, arguably even more so than physical games on consoles. With pirated and emulated PC games, games get preserved on PC forever and are easily accessible to everyone, so that way you don't have to worry about a physical copy of a gem getting rarer and rarer to the point where it costs an insane amount just to play a single retro game.
They don't want to hear that. They are worried their Burger King Sneak game won't be available to run on current hardware
Windows can run 30 years old plus software natively. No other OS or company does that.
Backwards compatibility is in Microsoft DNA.
@@blackraven85_1I have so many copies of those bk games lol. My wife and I play pocket bike racer every week
@maddox121what’s more important that a game be playable for millions? Or that a piece of plastic with the data files on it exists? A physical copy of a game is worthless if it can’t be readily played.
R.I.P. 3DS RPG Maker…. 😢
Saw the dreamcast shirt. *Atari controller graphic, "I only got one button, push it"* sell me that.
You mentioned how convoluted the controls were on the Wii U, some games let you use a pro controller, some force you to use the gamepad, and then some Wii U games force you to use the Wii remote, it was all over.
Nowadays with the Nintendo Switch most games support the pro controller which is good, however there are still many games that either only use the joycons (sometimes unwarranted since some of these games have you use the joycons linked together like a controller) or force you to use the touch screen instead, and while most games can be played docked many games don't, it may not be as convoluted as the Wii U but it's still very tedious.
One small thing Nintendo could have done to market that console better was to just show a picture of the actual console alongside the gamepad, **NOT** just a picture of the gamepad by itself. They were basically asking to confuse people. It felt like such a boneheaded move back when it happened.
I wouldn't hold out hope for the Transformers games, Hasbro is going to want a lot of money from MS to get that license back. Would love to see Mechassault come back though.
They should renew the licences of a ton of 360 and xbox og games so I can download them on series. So many are listed on the store still but unavailable to buy
Really? Never heard of this. Can you give some examples?
@PokyBallinBabo I mean off the top of my head indiana jones on og xbox, enchanted arms on 360 amd I only say those cause they were o my wishlist. If you just look on the store and any 360 game or xbox og game is listed bit doesn't show a price it usually means some licence hasn't been renewed

I heard something a while back about a private server for Wii U and 3DS known as Pretendo preserving all online Super Mario Maker levels so hopefully that game is still thriving through their servers when the shutdown hits.
I think you might see 40fps used a bit on Switch 2. That extra 10fps does feel great and if they can retain a high rez as well a lot of ppl will be content
Big Nintendo fanboy here! I loved the Wii U, very dearly.
The Mario Maker completion is genuinely the greatest thing I've ever seen in the video game community, it just makes me so happy. Can't wait until 10 years from now when we have to do this all over again when Mario Maker 2 shuts down
"hardware paradigm shift". Another hint at a handheld. I see you, Sarah.
For reference, her previous hint:
"biggest technical leap in technology". Easy, they've had 0 handhelds.
Microsoft has been working on ARM compatibility for Windows applications for a very long time. I would not be surprised if this group will be in charge of backwards compatibility for arm handhelds.
So since Xbox is reviving the backwards compatibility program could this mean that we could get some of the old sonic titles playable on modern Xbox system Such as Sonic & Sega All-Stars racing??
I don't think they're going to make more past games backward compatible. They're probably just going to ensure that current games are backward compatible with the new hardware.
This already is? A ton of not most 360 titles are already back compat. I have been playing All-Stars Racing Transformed on my Series X with my son and it’s been great 👍

I actually loved the WiiU and the tablet! The problem was it was kind of too expensive and bulky to have multiples, and there are times when you'd like to switch off the tablet and just view it through the TV instead of having duplicated displays. The downside of the WiiU was the extreme lack of support and the console-killing name.
And now us Battle Network fans could no longer netbattle each other on Wii U platform...
Remember music videos on the 360? I had so many and now nothing to show for it!
Just got my Black Wii U 32GB and 12 games including StarFox Zero and StarFox Guard in the double bundle box both games are still sealed. All together with a Wii U pro controller for $180. It's kinda of difficult finding one locally. But that was definitely a steal.
Microsoft, you have to publish and release games to actually preserve them. You realize that, right? Right? Right??????
But how would backwards compatibility even work going forward considering the next Xbox is most likely going to be digital only?
Just like they work now, you always have the option to buy them in the digital store. So... there is that unfortunately fact for physical owners.
Microsoft's strategy is not based on console exclusives, it's based on Minecraft.
I bought a Wii U after getting a Switch purely because I was tired of waiting on a release for Windwaker and Twilight Princess HD haha
I just traded a 3D printer for a wii u this weekend. Excited to have a wii u again.
I had one at launch then sold it once smash, mk8 and splatoon were released for switch. I'm amazed by how easy it was to softmod these days, and I did it in an afternoon. Nintendo shutting down services/servers along with the second hand wii u game prices soaring = further confirmation I did the right thing.
Remember guys, it's always morally correct to backup your console games (even digital versions) for the sake of keeping them playable
It takes a lot of work to set these things up, as well as the legal legwork required, so I'm glad that someone has the resources to take action against this.
I bought a Wii U last year (Windwaker special edition) purely because I wanted to play WindWaker in HD. Didn't regret it. I got tired of waiting for Nintendo to release it on the Switch.
3ds is my favorite handheld. But Wii u is rough man. I really hated that gamepad.
I had a Wii, and then the WiiU came out, and my neighbor got one. After trying it out, I just didn't see the justification to move to that system.
The Wii U is the best system after modding it. As for heavy hitter games, I have every game on Switch now. If it wasn't for Twilight Princess, Wind Waker and Xenoblade Chronicles X, I wouldn't need the Wii U but I love it such for modding I have four Wii U's.
Favorite Wii U memory would be using the pro controller for Splatoon. This required strapping a Wii remote to the underside of the Wii U pro controller with 2 Wii remote straps for the gyro/accelerometer. You still had to have the Wii U gamepad on your lap for the map. Good times.
Owning a nes,snes,64,gamecube and a wii in real time I had no clue what a wii u was until like 2 years after it came out.. also owned gameboy, color, advance, 2ds, 3ds, 3dsxl and a switch so someone who was well aware of nintendo shows how bad marketing was for that God awful junk
wii u did little cut scenes with just dance.. It was epic showing yall dancing that will live in my mind forever
Microsoft killed Windows XP on April 8th 2014, 10 years later Nintendo killed the online services for Wii U and 3DS…
All online games should have peer-to-peer built into them so that when the servers shut down players can still play online.
I loved the dual screen functionality of the Wii U. I was very disappointed when I got my switch and discovered it couldn't do anything like that.
Goodbye to the Wii U and 3DS online servers as Nintendo just can’t wait to close the chapter on one of the worst periods in their history with the Wii U and to a lesser extent the 3DS.
I somewhat regret selling my Wii U for my switch but I barely ever used it and it kept collecting dust. My switch got a ton of use during my community college days playing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Indies, and Smash Bros Ultimate in the lounge.
No worries, we’ll be fine. All the more reason to pirate all their games and use Pretendo Network to play the online again.
The continually improved Splatoon with 2 and 3, but the game was just MADE for the WiiU Gamepad, and something is just lost on the switch. Same for Pikmin 3, the Gamepad added so much to that experience. But most importantly, Xenoblade Chronicles X. I can't not love the WiiU.
There’s that word again…I don’t remember signing or agreeing that the word “purchase” should be changed to “entitlement”.
Yeah my comment sounds stupid, sorry
Game preservation is code for “Cloud”.
I'm waiting for the rom thieves to be like " game preservation" as a cover for theft
Microsoft would be the most peak gaming company if they ported all Dead Rising content that was stuck in the xbox 360 (case west case zero) back into modern platforms.
I bought a used Wii U 3 months before switch was announced. Let’s just say that Wii U didn’t stick around long and I sold it to get a switch.
Is very simple just make a legislation that says if a company removes a game . Or they end a life service The customer is entitled to the refund automatically
6:00 if you replay something long enough, you'll get perfect at it, as it was short, it was literally played after played, amazing stuff.
The Wii u is ranked higher by the community because once hacked ....you have the entire Nintendo library of all generations up to the Wii u at your fingertips even more ...so yeah it is better on that sense
EXCEPT ... you still cannot play Ocarina of time, Twilight Princess or Wind waker on the switch....
But you can play ocarina of time on switch…
@@miner49er83 so you can purchase and play ocarina of time?
@@Ajayen-- do you think that’s the only way you can play games on game systems these days?
Literally every console now has a service you can pay for to get tons of different games to play….so yes you can purchase and play it on switch….
@@miner49er83 I asked if you can purchase the game. Not a service that requires you to be online that does you zero good when internet is not available. So NO you cannot purchase the game.
Im worried that there will be a day where a company like Microsoft will have the power to listen to any online chat and ban anybody that says anything even slightly offensive from their account, losing all previous digital purchase.
Wii U was a fantastic product that got as much support as nintendo could give. One of my.favorite consoles .
I love my Wii U, i got one at release and its still one of my favorite console. It had a lot of great games, that most people experienced much later on the Switch. I remember playing Call of Duty in Couch Coop, one player played on Gamepad and the second player on the TV.
it's "interesting" to see people defend the Wii Mote but hate on the Wii U Game Pad
So many things that need fighting for in our world and people are so worried about physical and digital media. People streaming movies, tv ,games, music..Even books digital... Its not turning back any time soon guys. Why worry? Just enjoy the content while you can and move on.
Yeah. I don't get this whole mess either. Plus, you know disc rot is a thing for physical media and has affected some collections that can't play their disc anymore. No one seems to take that serious. They think it's a myth. Or, it only affects collections in poor conditions.
@@blackraven85_1 I mean..i get it..we all like to have things. BUT time just moves on. things change. Sure there are some things that need worked out. We need access to our digital media 24/7 and for a life time. We should be able to download it and have it on harddrives etc..Maybe it will get sorted out. AND yes discs can go bad as can all media. Heck VHS get mold. Digital is the way to go..
This is not just about digital VS physical or online VS offline. This is about big corporations slowly taking our rights as consumers and customers away and the dirtiest practices made by videogame companies seeping into other businesses. The Crew is just a small example of what is currently happening, so it really does matter, even if you think it doesn't.
I get what folks mean when they say it, but the FF7 remake trilogy has menus but it’s not turn-based at all. It’s more like an action evolution of the old Bioware battle system than the pure turn based stuff. I say this as somebody who likes these games, old school turn based, and Bioware, but I know a lot of folks get turned off hearing anything is turn based.
About FF Tactics... Where is Metal Slug Tactics?
I have two Wii U, bought the first one a year after I bought the Switch at launch. I love the Wii U.
It's sad to see Nintendo shutting down the Wii-U and 3DS online servers for no good reason.
I had so many good memories with the Nintendo DS-WiiU over the years!
But sadly though, through my school years, I sold my Nintendo DS-WIIU for reasons.
The reason why I sold my Nintendo DS because so I can upgrade my DS to 3DS.
The reason why I sold my Nintendo 3DS because of Skylanders.
The reason why I sold my Nintendo Wii-U because of Xbox One X.
But other than that, I'm going to miss the Wii-U and 3DS (especially with the online servers for Wii-U and 3DS).
My favorite memories for the Wii-U that I made is Splatoon.
But other than that, keep your old games/consoles, stop buying remakes/remasters of retro triple AAA games (including the Nintendo ones) and instead, start buying indie games and AA games.
Also, it's horrifying that the all-digital future is approaching really fast, and we must to find a way to put a end to this all-digital future nightmare once and for all before it's too late!
Wii U is the greatest system ever made. Sales were awful, marketing was awful, and there weren't that many games, but the games Wii U did have were some of the best games ever made. I'm thinking of the original Splatoon, Pokken Tournament, Pikmin 3, and Mario Kart 8. Wii U even got Call of Duty and Tekken which is more than the Switch can say. It's a fair argument that Nintendo Switch received deluxe ports for all those great Wii U games, but I will always think of them as Wii U games first and frankly I did not spend anywhere near the same amount of hours on Switch ports as I had already spent with the originals. I expect the 14 million other Wii U owners probably had similar experiences with Deluxe ports.
Imagine Xbox showing off new gears on ue5 with amazing graphics and gameplay and right at the end the screen pulls back and its running native on a Xbox handheld using some crazy upscaling/ai tech 😲🤯🤯🤯
Why can’t they just give us an option piggyback the 3DS/Wii U onto the Nintendo Switch Online accounts (for an extra fee, or for free, as a “thank you” to Nintendo customers for buying multiple consoles from them)?
