I can't believe hadn't heard of a horror comedy starting Joe Don Baker.
My grandfather went to highschool with him. Back when you knew everyone in your class. My grandpa handled all the reunion/homecoming stuff for his class, kept records on who had passes and kept updated contact info for everyone, who was going and whatnot.
Joe Don always kept in touch until my grandfathers death. They spoke a few times a year and my grandfather always thought highly of him, which from my perspective at least, really means something.

Every criticism for Simon Sez could be applied to most 90s movies. I've noticed that every decade has its own unique style in films. The 90s seem to add comical humour to everything. Even sequels to more darker serious 80s horror flicks.

I caught The Stupids here on YT early this year. Yes, some of it doesn't, but the scene in the museum plus "I'm My Own Grandpa" make for a must-see flick. Saturday the 14th isn't bad either, plus you've got Benjamin & Prentiss!

How Tom Arnold got to star in so many movies of the mid 90s ? If you take Big Bully Carpool The Stupids and McHale's Navy their combined box office doesn't reach 10M dollars One movie under 10M would be considered a flop 🙄

I've been a fan of The Stupids for a long time, glad to see it featured and praised. Also, it features Landis' trademark of casting known directors in bizarre cameos, so film is full of serious arthouse staples: David Cronenberg, Costa-Gavras, Norman Jewison, Atom Egoyan, Robert Wise, Gillo Pontecorvo, Gurinder Chadha and Mick Garris are all in this.

And the band at the dance? Why didn't they get a metric sh*t-ton of work, just from the songs that were used in the film? Extremely slick and very well produced, and even now, I can still hear them playing as a best-of mash-up over the closing credits (and trust me when I say that that was a long time ago!).
