My main problem with babydumpling and with mukbang content in general is that it feels very much like it’s promoting disordered eating at best and a full-blown eating disorder at worst. Binge-eating is still an eating disorder whether you purge afterwards or not (though as someone who has struggled with an ED for most of my life, I’d hazard a guess that most of these people are most likely purging afterwards).

@@kittygoesWOOF I actually know a lot of people with anorexia that watch mukbangs are using the videos to keep themselves from eating. They basically pretend like they are eating what the mukbanger is eating, in their head to kind of suppress their appetite. People use these videos to inspire themselves to diet, I guess some people also get so disgusted by the amount of food on camera that it makes them sick and not want to eat. so in terms of what kind of ED? It depends on the person but a lot of people use these videos to harm their own eating patterns.

For me it works totally opposite. I can eat much less when I see a person who have eaten a lot. This is kinda strange, but it works for me. For example, I can make a nice dinner and if I will be alone I will consume a lot of that. But if someone will eat it with me and enjoy it, I can have few bites for try and I do actually feel full, I don't want to eat anymore. So, when I see a person who eats a lot, I don't feel my hunger, because my eyes say "oh my, that was a lot of food, we are full".

I don't get how people can't see that. Not only is she fake eating, the majority of mukbang videos (esp those not gaining weight) have a spit bucket. This is why their editing is so choppy from beginning to end. So that viewers don't question all the edits when they are in fact spitting. I thought this was an obvious fact but the comments here show that people are still living in the myth of "fast metabolism" which has been debunked.
Just wasting food for clicks and people just keep falling for it. I have observed skinny people and the one thing they all have in common is they don't actually eat a lot and/or are extremely active. One guy would stuff his face with 2 burgers at 10 am then have lunch at 1 pm but barely have anything over the next three days. It's like his appetite came in waves and he would perform these "omg my friends just eats everything and stays skinny". A girl would order large and super sized of everything. She would take three bites, play around with it for an hour then it would end up in the trash. Once in a blue moon she might finish a large meal but it was always like her eyes were writing checks that her stomach couldn't cash.

I'm surprised they let her stay til the end! She had to cram as much food down her throat in the 20 minutes for each mealtime (3). I'm sure in her home she probably ate 5-6 or more mealtimes plus snacks. I envied her at first but not in the end.

It even happens to me; I tell people that I'm concerned about what I eat and how little I exercise, but I can't bring myself to do it all (yet), and people immediately say, "No, you're so healthy! What i was thinking the whole time. People don't understand people can get bigger due to EDs or their environment. i remember hearing a story of a woman saying her mom showed her love by food and so she ate all the food to show her mom she appreciate her. this goes hand and hand with parents telling their kids to ea tall the food even if they're full or dont want more which can lead to unhealthy eating habits as adults. you should not judge someone for their weight, they may be going through stuff and judging them and shaming them won't do anything.
I'm not at a healthy weight, but I do want to start my journey as I'm not far from a healthy weight but being put down by my own dad ruins my motivation. i had starved myself multiple times and i had lost 30 pounds (1-3 pounds per week) when i was barely eating. negativity can hurt even if they think they're doing you a favor.
my boyfriend tells me I'm not fat and I'm beautiful. i appreciate him so much but i know not healthy, and i want to be leaner for my happiness and health. I've been having hard time with anxiety where i cant eat and it all. and its been affecting my eating as well as i use sweets to cope sometimes.

Of course, once she hit her 30's she couldn't eat like that anymore cause it did to her what it does to almost everyone else, puts on the pounds. Babydumpling reminds me of those rare people who can do eating competitions and not show it. My perspective...Babydumpling should enjoy it while she can, because she will eventually hit that age where she can't keep the pounds off anymore and will have to modify her content a bit.

The fact that she can seemingly that much and keep a figure like that was my immediate thought as well. That night I took the donuts down to the river, had a cry, then threw them all in the river one by one. The confrontation was eminent now.
She was super pissed and didn't talk to me for weeks. A couple of years later she developed heart problems from high cholesterol and had a stroke. She then told me that she understood why I did it.

I have the same wish! I used to be able to eat like this tiktoker when I was in my teens - early 20’s. I never exercised intentionally & easily maintained a 19.5 bmi. I ate pm the entire menu every time I ate out. I used to get 2 entrees when my bf & I went out on dates. When we ordered pizza, I’d eat an entire extra large pizza, a tray of pasta & half the dessert all by myself.
But looking back, I also ate very little about half the week without realizing. Half the days were eating 5000+ cals, half the days were eating 1000 so my weight was easily maintained. It wasn’t intentional - I was just following my hunger cues and the youthful metabolism boost definitely helped.
That all changed when I turned 25. Suddenly I couldn’t eat like that anymore. I had to exercise?? And watch what I ate??? Ugh! I think it’s partly genetic bc my dad had the same experience. It’d be such a dream to eat like my younger self again as I age while maintaining the low weight I had.

I ate three family-sized pizzas in one go while I was significantly underweight (I had been hospitalised for anorexia just before)---- It was to 'prove' I was eating. The thing is, I only ate in front of people and would often only eat some of the meal, then not eat again. I would be surprised if she was eating everything regularly...even with a fast metabolism, this would cause a lot of weight gain, unless it was very temporary

Nothing about your comment makes sense. 😂😂😂😂 If you were anorexic and just got out of the hospital from being so thin, there's no way you can eat three pizzas! First of all your stomach would be too small. And second, if you really struggle with an eating disorder, then you would know that you have to start off small. You can't just eat three large pizzas! Your body can go into shock and your heart could have a heart attack!!
This comment is ignorant and full of lies!! 😂😂😂 Stop trying to be relatable! It is not working!! 😂😂😂😂
Saying you have an eating disorder just to try and fit in or get recognition online is disgusting. Eating disorders are the most deadliest mental disorders in this world! Trust me, you do not want to have this disorder! You should be thanking god. Not trying to get thumbs up from people by lying. It's sad and pathetic behavior. 😂😂😂

I have heard that a lot of mukbang creators have binge/starve behaviour (where they don’t eat all day/for many days and then eat really big portions all at once bc they are so hungry, and then go back to not eating due to guilt from the binge), rumination disorder (where they chew and spit without swallowing) or bulimia. I think the idea of shaming these people who have these issues is not a very nice thing to do, or very productive because many eating disorders are rooted in feelings of shame. I do think that eating disorders and the internet are a really dangerous combination for both the creators and the viewers, and I’m not entirely sure what the actual solution would be other than for people who are legitimately concerned to just block these posters and give them less attention, positive or negative.

From what I've heard and as you can see in most of the videos shown here she only shows herself taking one bite of each thing so unless she shows herself eating all that stuff EVERY time I'm calling 🧢

I saw a few people on TikTok say they've seen her throwing out all the food. She takes like 1-2 bites and spits it out and throws it out. Idk if it's true but I've seen a few videos and comments saying this.

I remember years ago hearing about a kid who had some kind of health issue that required him to consume an astronomical amount of calories by "normal" standards, I figure whos to say that's not the case with her. Plus like you said, she doesn't owe anyone an explanation anyway.

I bet her dentist knows why she can eat so much without losing her figure.
Dentists can spot acid erosion on your teeth that is conducive with a specific ED….or acid reflux…but, typically if someone has acid reflux they’re more open about it…and know it messes up their teeth.

She’s going to lose her teeth really young 😐 Purging erodes your gums, teeth, and esophagus.

Thank you for saying ‘healthy weight’ instead of ‘skinny’. So many people don’t understand there is a huge different between that.

Hey Jaime! I just wanted to stop by to let you know that your reaction content has been really fun to watch lately and you bring a positive and balanced viewpoint to the genre. I also just wanted to say that I REALLY appreciate your recent willingness to criticize where you feel it appropriate - you're not being mean, you're bringing up valid points, and you're doing it as delicately as possible while still being able to say "hey, something isn't right". Of course you're going to get backlash no matter what but I'm super happy it isn't discouraging you. Thanks for the great content and can't wait to see what's in store! 😊

Yup, some people go as far as vomiting the whole feast back out, which is not exactly a positive guide to following your dreams, more like a guide to magic tricks.

you can see the light leaving her eyes as the all-you-can-eat sushi video keeps going. her videos remind me of Stephanie Buttermore, who used to capitalize off of these same types of massive what i eat in a day videos and very much did have an eating disorder of some kind (i can't remember at the moment if it was orthorexia or binge eating disorder)
