  • Does Coca Cola remove Oil from your driveway?
    I had an oil stain on my driveway and I read that American Police use Coke to remove stains from the road?

    Back in the day, mid-late 80s Oil Rig workers used Coca-Cola in Washer Machines to remove oil stains from their clothes and it worked GREAT!!!! However, I cannot speak to Coca-Cola nowadays but my dad did tell me it worked amazing. They could've changed the ingredients from then until now. But it used to work incredibly well 40yrs ago

      i used Coke bit more than year ago, however, it was asphalt and i had different procedure... i first throw down some cat litter sand and lefti it overnight (straight 12hrs), brushed it out and rinse with hot water... some brush and rinse again.... after i put coke on it and brushed for another 5 mins, rinse off with hot water couple times... it was looking like it will stay "shadow" of it, on first 3-4 days...after it desapeared completly...surely, hot water did most part but i think it was all together... i got some stains (again) so i will try again with only coke and all together

    Kitty litter works OKAY. Just spread a generous amount over the entire area and grind it into the surface vigorously with your shoe. After a few minutes, I scrape off most of it with a flat shovel leaving a thin layer to absorb the oils. You can then sweep it up and save the litter for next time. I wait the following day before I hose it off with a high pressure water stream. You may still see a stain, but the oils won’t get trampled into the house.

    Best way to get rid of oil spots in your driveway is to get rid of the leaks. De-greasing detergent like dawn or liquid tide will get what is sitting on the surface but the rest goes away over time. Eventually there will be just a discoloration. This is where asphalt is the best material for your driveway because you can just topcoat it and it's nearly new. Nice drive by the way. Always wanted one in brick.

    Let the soda sit on the oil stain for a day. This is the easiest and least expensive method for removing oil from your cement. The acid must have time to desolve the oil. Also concrete absorbs it and it will likely need several applications as you absorb some more will surface as concrete is a very porous surface. Glass is not very porous and practically repels oil while concrete is very porous and will absorb a ton of it. It's why a spill usually stays fairly local on concrete

  • @harold4458
    @harold4458 Před 5 lety +12

    I have done it and it works. I think the real reason why it didn’t work for you is because brick are not actually concrete. It only work on concrete bud. Not mud.

    Blood is like 95% water that's why Americans use Coca Cola cos it is like detergent but oil is thick this trick right here is almost right You meant to leave the coke to sit on the oil stain for 24 hours then use the hose it's not guaranteed but it's a cheap option the fresher the oil stain the better the chance of working ladies and gentlemen

    Police commonly have coke in their trunk to remove blood stains from concrete, asphalt, or any hard surface (smooth or coarse). The acid in the soda helps degrease and separate the oil, blood or any reasonable stains from the surface, power washing afterwards makes it good as new
