Do you agree with Shockwave that he is logically the best choice to lead the Decepticons?
Yes and no.
It's like in a horror movie. If all the characters acted logically, the movie would be over in 5 minutes :)
@@MoonlightRambler true true
I know one-eyed Barney mostly from the OG cartoon and bits from the later IGN comics, given his political background,(alien robot politics not different from ours, I wonder about their wokes) He is a more capable usurper than Starscream, but I agree with Moonlightrambler.
@@chichiboypumpi 💯 agree!
It's only logical.
"This decepticon lost his face"
Bayverse: Do you have any idea how little that narrows it down?
Ha ha good one! Sad how the noble Optimus Prime evolved into a face destroyer in the Bayverse universe...
Couldn't be Optimus' fault, he's just a kindly 35 foot truck man who wouldn't hurt a fly
unless it has a face he needs
@aircraftcarrierwo-class and apparently he needs lots of faces...and spines 😅
@@StoriesFromTheToyshelfI understand it. Bayverse Megatron had literally torn some of his friends apart, and so many of his close companions fell in battle. At that point anyone, no matter how calm and stoic, would be pissed.
The decepticons fought dirty, taking no prisoners, shooting people in the back, and the only way to make the fights fair, was to be equally brutal. I believe Bayverse Optimus hates what he does, but like Asgore, feels he has no choice, that he owes it to his people and all the sacrifices of those that fell, to win by any means necessary.
@syrathdouglas1244 yup I believe that was what they were going for. A grittier more war torn Prime. But its still jarring and disturbing. At some point...around the third movie I guess it just became too much for most of us. But yes, that was their choice of treatment.
The fact that you use your own voice and no ai, is a plus, and the “any wave” joke got you a like and sub
Hey thanks! Appreciate that! Yup AI is taking over....but I have no plans of riding THAT wave 😜
The original shockwave from the comics will always be my favourite
And mine too!
I can believe he managed to beat megatron on the original marvel comics run
Yup he did! I mean Megatron transformed into a handgun. Shockwave transformed into a gigantic flying space gun. No contest! 😅
Didn't he capture Prime's head as well?
@itswilbur3747 to be honest it's been so long since I read the original Marvel comic i diont remember 😅 but yeah I do recall Prime losing his head so I wouldn't be surprised of Shockwave did it 😅
To be fair Megatron wasn't at his *ahem * prime when he fought Shockwave.
@charlesn898 yes he wasn't....but a win is a win for Shockwave he he.
Absolutely 100% I've been a fan of transformers since the 80's he would've been 10x the leader for the decepticons!
It's only logical yeah? Emotions get in the way of world domination 👍
Soundwave was one of the best looking transformers in G1, right along Optimus himself.
Yes he was. And his ability to shoot out his casseticons was original and cool. Which is why cartoon soundwave is superior. But in almost everything else, I'll take shockwave :)
I vaguely recall something similar happening to Whirl as an explanation of his toy. It was similar in that it was licensed by Hasbro from another non-Takara source. His appearances in IDW comics made me wonder why he was an Autobot, being much more of a violent sociopath than most Decepticons.
Ha ha yeah almost similar circumstances in both toy and IDW character. I loved how IDW made Whirl such an interesting character. And he's definitely in the pipeline for a future story :)
As the old saying goes; there is the devil…and there is Shockwave
“(Anything Logical)” -Shockwave
He is a class of his own :)
As a bit more information for you, here in the US, Shockwave (before the toy was officially caled that) was sold by "Radio Shack". And while I was more of a Soundwave kid myself, I had those comics myself, and always imagined the cartoon version of Shockwave to be very similar, just more patient and subtle than his comic counterpart.
Yup! I forgot to mention "Shack"wave :) that would be an interesting take on cartoon shockwave. A Decepticon patiently biding his time to make his move. Playing the extremely looooong game. Unfortunately for him, Unicron happened 😅
I remember that Radoi Shack toy!! 😀

@@MrAvenger1975 shack-wave!
@@StoriesFromTheToyshelfI still have my 1983 Shockwave Transformer. I remember it was built by different companies.
I remember in 1984, we were in Chicago and flying back to Manila, Philippines. When we were about to board, we followed what our dad did, we placed our respective toys in the x-ray... Me holding the Knight Rider voice car and my little brother the Korean Shockwave toy (G1). Long story short, it triggered airport security, they confiscated Shockwave and my brother cried. When we were in the plane about to take off, said security called dad & returned the toy.
Oh wow that must have been very traumatic! Good to know they came to their senses...to think that was in 1984. Nowadays might have ended differently...
@@StoriesFromTheToyshelf i was 8, my bro was 7. The airport security knew we were harmless. They probably checked the contents and confirmed it was a toy.
@@gem.dionisio just doing their job but still really traumatic for a kid. At least they eventually gave it back :)
Shockwave is the Decepticon version of Spock. Devoid of emotions and governed solely by logic.
Yup that would be accurate. They even both have long ears 😅
I think it's high time Shockwave got his original mind and personality back. Look...if Megatron can have a fkn redemption arc, then so can Shockwave!
But where's the fun in that? Then he'd just be Perceptor 😅 but hey...if its written well, I'm all for it :)
lol the first thing he would do is make something even more horrifying to try undo the shit he did and let it lose in PTSD-fueled insane rant/rage before building a big bomb to try to blow up every transformer due to them being the source of true horror with him being only the cause of like 60% due to all the thing he has built and tinkered with, even some Autobots actions would be horrifying to him lol Prowl has murdered literal cities just to get more grunts, arcee was pretty much feral murder hobo for a while
@kingbarrythegreat yeah IDW really blurred the lines between Autobots and Decepticons didn't they!
@@kingbarrythegreat except Shockwave...its pretty clear that the dude was mad.....
@@StoriesFromTheToyshelf lol the top brass pretty much doomed reality by playing doctor on him, anytime brain/soulwashing is done in mass or studied is a clear sign everyone's gonna die violently because of it. taking away a scientists heart/soul is a very very bad idea, especially in a world of sci fi machinery or if a robot, just imagine if he had more data on body upgrades and applied it to himself
Shockwave was simply the ruler of Cybertron for longer than any other Cybertronian.
Yes he was! Although in the cartoon he barely had anyone to rule 😅
Cloud 9's Quake Blast is so heavy it could actually hurt someone. He was my first 3rd party bot.
Quake Blast is awesome! Fantastic way to start off your 3rd party collection :) and the box he came in was gorgeous!
I wonder if Senator Shockwave was more like Harvey Dent before becoming Two Face
I would think it would be the opposite. Senator Shockwave starting out very emotional to being emotionless. Not an expert on two face but I'd imagine Harvey Dent to be very straightforward and level headed. While two face the opposite and very chaotic?
@@StoriesFromTheToyshelf Harvey Dent was indeed a level-headed and intelligent man, but he also had a form of MPD. The second personality went by the name Big Bad Harv and was just as intelligent, but a lot more aggressive, violent, and short-tempered. The accident that created Two-Face merged the two, with Big Bad Harv coming out as the more dominant side of his personality.
I wouldn't compare him and Shockwave, honestly. No Batman villain has quite the mentality of Shockwave. Ra'as al Ghul is the closest human villain and he still isn't very similar. The actual closest is HARDAC, but HARDAC is more of, like... Film Noir HAL-9000.
@@aircraftcarrierwo-class thanks for the primer on Dent/two face, much appreciated as I'm more of a Marvel guy when it comes to comic books :)
Never heard of HARDAC before though 🤔 worth checking out?
@@StoriesFromTheToyshelf HARDAC is from Batman: The Animated Series. I suggest the episodes Heart of Steel and His Silicon Soul, in that order.
I really enjoyed Prime's Shockwave, he acted as a fantastic antagonist and lieutenant for Megatron.
But Animated as a whole has a lot of importance to me, and I can't deny Spy Shockwave was a neat take on the character.
Every major iteration of Sjockwave added something unique to the character, which I find really cool. Even the waste of a character in DOTM at least had a gigantic worm companion which was unique ha ha. For me though it'll always be the original Marvel Shockwave since it was the first to portray Shockwave as more than a loyal lackey who was left behind on Cybertron.
The shocking TRUTH is, he's a copy of another transforming robot while Hasbro was buying up rights left and right....
Can't blame me for trying to hook people in with a shocking title 😅
As a kid, I watched the cartoon, and by the time I got into comics and was getting them once a week off a spinning rack, Marvel was running G2, and I was a huge Superman mark. So I liked my Shockwave as the goofy punchline. But I totally understand why people dig him as much. I just don't but he does look badass.
It's been years since I read the original Marvel run, but that issue wherein he defeats Megatron firmly established him to me as one of the deadliest and most powerful Decepticons. That being said, he was first portrayed as that...harmless Decepticon who pretty much did nothing but get left behind in the cartoon...so your perception of him is totally understandable too 👍
There's nothing to argue about. It's Soundwave.
Shockwave superior 😅
It's crazy Shockwave just chilled on Cybertron for 4 million years
Carefully plotting his takeover of the Decepticons 🤣
You definitely did not disappoint, this video was super fun and I loved it!
Thanks! Glad you liked it! So.. Bruce Lee or Mike Tyson? 😅
Gotta say...never bring the wifey when toy hunting.
Ha ha nah my wife is cool...she's a collector too :)
Meanwhile, in another thumbnail:
This A-Team's
Face lost his
Decepticon
and probably all his animal friends in space
and maybe his off screen singer girlfriend after a period of time
and the exclusive rights to fly jet planes to artifical intelligence
and then that one time in Vegas-
That's sounds like a hell of an interesting video! "Click!"
I always liked MARVEL Shockwave over G1 animated Shockwave too, but I never really thought about Shockwave's cyclops head too much....at least until the other cyclops character Whirl was introduced into the toyline.
After that, it just made me think that there was just an entire...um...."ethnicity" I guess?.....of cyclops Cybertronians.
Yeah to my knowledge I think IDW was the first to give a proper explanation to the cyclops Transformers. And yes in their universe, Whirl was the recipient of the same punishment as Shockwave .
At least Shockwave had a face. G1 Hasbro toys, Ironhide and Ratchet never had a head 😖😖
Yeah but they actually did have faces..I believe they were just stickers. Crude I know, but they were there 😅
One of my favs is the cybertron version of shockwave, the one that transforms into a tank and a satellite 🛰️
I myself loved the War Within design by artist Don Figueroa :)
Shockwave in the comics was incredible. Scary.
Yes he was! Complete opposite from the cartoon!
When I first got into G1, I made shockwave the supreme Decepticon commander. The sheer size and build of this guy made megatron look like a wuss. What I really dug were the original's battery-operated lights and pew-pew sounds. And the best part... I attached the removable gun barrel to the end of the other hand to become a super cannon! Man , do I miss those years!
Those were definitely the best years! I never had Shockwave but I had Megatron and yes he was as bad in hand as in the pics 😅 no pew pew sounds with Megs!
I've always been into the fact that when Hasbro first imported Shockwave, they did not have exclusive rights to the mold, and so you'd see him different places, like the Gray "Galactic Man" version that Radio Shack sold that the fandom nicknamed Shackwave. Two toys with that gray with clear plastic deco were used as set dressing in the movie Aliens, hung upsidedown in gunborg configuration to look like scientific equipment in the lab where Bishop was studying the dead facehuggers.
Yeah I heard about that! Although didn't "shackwave" officially become a Transformer later on? Like they released a toy in the Generation selects line?
@@StoriesFromTheToyshelf I got that one off Amazon! He is pretty cool in grey altmode!
@robotkyle71 nice! Was he still shockwave? Or a new character?
@@StoriesFromTheToyshelf He is a Generations Selects, so in the brown cardboard box, his label read "Galactic Man Shockwave"
@robotkyle71 OK so still shockwave in a different flavor 😅 I wouldn't put it past shockwave to create a clone of himself because logically two shockwaves would be better than one 😅
Now we have Skybound Transformers comics, which show us a somewhat different Shockwave.
I just finished issue 6. Has he made an appearance already? Gotta catch up!
@@StoriesFromTheToyshelf He has been in sister title 'Void Rivals', which is part of the Skybound Energon Universe.
@johnevans8533 nice I haven't gone past the first issue of that one...gotta catch up! Just finished issue 7 of TF....brutal!
I remember the initial introduction of Shockwave of course, had the title of the comic "The Transformers" above his head. Beneath that, HE had sculpted his own graffiti into the wall near him. It read, "Are all dead." He was a mean bastard.
Yup that is one iconic cover! Often recreated. Never duplicated!
he's definitely my favorite
Nice! One of the best :)
My biggest problem with Transformers was how they always had to have human faces. Bumblebee & Optimus had awesome robot faces but they had to be changed into "battle masks". Wheeljack was my favorite Autobot because of the original toy & box artwork. He had the best face out of all of them. But the cartoon ruined it. They just had to add human eyes & a nose. Why can't Shockwave's head just be Shockwave's head? He's a fucking *ROBOT!!!* Cybertronians are not humans. Why do they always have to give the Transformers human faces? The cartoon ruined most of the awesome toys. Pretty much every G1 toy that had a cool robot face was given a human face in the cartoon. That has always pissed me off! Now I can't even get any of the characters with their original heads. I'd like to buy the new Brawn & Gears but I HATE the cartoon faces.
I get your frustration and yes I agree as robots not even made by humans it doesn't make any sense. But for me I figure that it started as a royline and cartoon made for kids and adding faces just naturally made them more relatable to kids? I dunno that's how saw it. Shockwave being visually different just made him more unique and provided an opportunity to tell a great story about how he got that way...which I think IDW did very well. Now what I can't stand though is when they have Optimus Prime without a face shield. 😅
@@StoriesFromTheToyshelf It didn't make them more relatable.
Most of the coolest ones didn't have human faces and the most popular ones had the strange faces like optimous prime and grimlock and tryptocon.
The idea of making them look and act more human in the movie also preceded the absolute worst and most hated transformers lineup ever. Being beaten out by the nonsense of hte action masters and pretenders.
Wrong
@alwaysabiggafish3305 what's wrong?
@incognit01233 let's agree to disagree as face or no face is more of a subjective thing anyway. While I can agree that face shields and battle masks do look cooler for robots...I myself don't have that much of a strong dislike for robot faces. What matters more to me is characters and personalities which most TF iterations have in spades. Although i agree actionmasters suck 😅
He's my favorite Decepticon! I've got a whole bunch of Shockwave figures too.
I can tell from your name :) which one is your favorite Shockwave in your collection?
@@StoriesFromTheToyshelf
I gotta go G1.

@@shockwave7513 nice saw it! Great collection!
Shockwave was among the unique characters in the marvel comic run. Him along Scorponox, Ratbat and Starscream were all attempts running for leadership
Yeah the Marvel run was pretty good considering they had to shoehorn new characters almost every other issue. I found it amusing at how they made an insignificant soundwave minion in Ratbat end up actually leading the Decepticons at one point!
Awesome video and information about their backstory. I still have Shockwave from 1983
Hey thanks! Great seeing your OG Shockwave in one piece after all these years!

Nice...there are a lot of great Shockwave options out there now! But either way hope you get to track down a reasonably priced original!
Shockers was and is still a huge fave of mine.
Can't blame you! He's a fave of mine too!
How Shockwave in the Bay transformers movie was handled makes me wonder if him not being in the movie much, not talking much, and not transforming was a budget reason. All the Bay transformers movies are just a commercial to sell more toys. Yeah, the 86 movie did the same but at least that had an enjoyable story. When I saw Shockwave on the big screen, I was thinking the transformers could really do something with his character and really see him transform into something like a railgun that resembled Megatron's gun mode from the g1 cartoon series as a homage. In fact, I was hoping we saw him scanning the same military ship railgun that was shown in revenge of the fallen. And speaking of Megatron, was there ever a reason how and why Megatron kept getting new vehicle modes, and reversed back from Galvatron in the movies?
Yeah Like almost every TF character in the Bayverse, Shockwave was sorely underused. Although while I can't confirm it, it seems that this was on purpose as they wanted him to play the part of a red herring to hide the fact that the true villain was Sentinel Prime. Sucks that it happened to Shockwave though. But they could've put more effort into him either way. The non transforming bit may have been budgetary since unlike the cars who paid to have them featured, no one would probably be paying for whatever Shockwave would've transformed into....
so many ones that I'm missing, it's only logical to try to complete a Shockwave shelf
Yes it is! 💯 agree!
The 4 modes was to show that it actually changed transformed . Otherwise people at the time that would think it was removable parts
I guess that would be one way to do it :)
While not my favorite, he's definitely up there. I also love his design in TFP lol
Yup! His design in TFP was great, especially the toy which had those weird organic clip on parts 👍
Shockwave is the most powerful Particle Beam Weapon
I wouldn't argue with you on that:)
To me he is an older more ancient transformer who later joined the decepticons and because he is so logical and calculating he did not need a face for emoting.
When i was a kid the idea transformers that lived indefinitely and had evolved rmotional traits in their own unique ways dictating their faces and features was just an automatic response from my imagination to explain what i was seeing.
I could not afford comics or anything and all my lore is from the show and talking about it.
Thats why 9/10 times you do a reboot you trash someones cherished childhood memories.
That is a very interesting take on Transformers origins. I like it :) and yes every new iteration does usually come with a new story, but i dont think that doesn't mean our childhood memories are trashed. As long as we hold on to them I think we're good :)
Like you sharing with me your interesting take on the TFs origin is keeping your memory of it alive :)
Shockwave was always one of my favs. I had 2 of the original toys as a kid...but they were VERY cheaply made....but they cost $30 in the 80s...that's a chunk of money.
They always split down the seam in the middle.
My favorite depiction was movie Shockwave...but they did him dirty.
Sorry to hear about your toys! I never actually had him as a kid so no first hand experience for me.
As for movie Shockwave, yes he did look awesome. Unfortunately he was morenof the rule than the exception, the Bayverse pretty mcu did every TF character dirty. But I. Agree, even that giant worm couldn't make up for Shockwaves mis use...or is that no use in the movie.
I'll always be a SOUNDWAVE guy.....so much that I named my Car audio shop "SOUNDWAVEs and accessories.
Well to be fair I don't think the name SHOCKWAVEs and accessories would make a good name for a car audio shop 😅 but soundwave IS cool too so all good!
Shockwave, the creepy amoral scientist. I mean, when you absolutely positively needed something done….
Who ya gonna call? 😅
Shockwave is like japan in ww2 evil . Sound wave is just the coolest robot ever made
I think my next story focuses on a pretty cool robot too. Stay tuned :)
Comic Shockwave is awesome!
Yes he is! Definitely a major upgrade from the cartoon!
I never really compared Soundwave and Shockwave. They're different bots who serve the Decepticons in different ways. Soundwave being trustworthy and loyal, almost virtuous especially for a Decepticon. Shockwave being nearly the opposite: while he still serves Megatron, he's so cold and calculating he's psychopathic, not caring who he hurts in order to get results. Even G1 Shockwave should send a chill through the chassis of Megatron, let alone any rank-and-file Decepticon, and Megs would do well to keep his eye on Shockwave while still benefiting from the results of his experiments.
Yup completely agree...but as kids' any excuse to pit two bots against each other would do :)
I always like to fantasize that Rampage and Depth Charge represented both aspects of Shockwave.
I missed out on a lot of Beast Wars but from what little I know, I agree with the Tarantulas Shockwave parallelism given how "mad" they were :)
@@StoriesFromTheToyshelf It is difficult for me to peg it. Yes, I agree Tarantulas is the best candidate, but he could easily also parallel Soundwave with his deception/infiltration background. Not to mention that it is Ravage that seeks him out and turns into a cassette tape.(hardest toy to find)
@@gloriousginger Which is probably why Soundwave is often compared to Shockwave...however I think Soundwave is more of a passive, cool deferential personality than Shockwave. It's very rare that he breaks off from his loyalty to Megatron...which is why the Prime version of Soundwave is AWESOME!
@@StoriesFromTheToyshelf Indeed.

I don't have a gen 1 Shockwave, but I do have Shackwave.
Nice! An important part of Shockwave toy history :)
Cloud 9 shock blast is my shockwave for my collection too
Nice! One of the rare instances where I chose to go with another company over Fans Toys 😅
in the Script for season 3 five part Five Faces of Darkness Shockwave was said to have a speaking line where he was said to be around when Cybertron was first build that is why his model looks the way it does in cartoon he was one of the first transformers and remember who the Quintessons where they changed it because Shockwave was said to have died in the movie but it was near added so they changed to Blitzwing kind of remembering them what is weird
Having Shockwave being around during the quintessons is a cool take to explain his different look :) yeah I heard he was supposedly killed off in the movie at the end by Unicron. But you know what they say...no body, no death. 😅
Well he's not my favorite as a character but as a G1 toy, him and Jetfire are definitely among my favorites. Especially after accidentally breaking my Megatron as soon as I got him out of the packaging.Learned a valuable lesson that day.... ALWAYS READ THE INSTRUCTIONS MANUAL 😅
Shockwave was definitely a better toy than Megatron :) and Jetfire was really a level above all the rest! I was lucky that he was one of my first Transformers toys. Talk about starting thingsboff at a high bar 😅 and yes reading instructions is a good idea 😅

Nice! Blitzwing is my favorite triple changer 👍
I just wanted to hear about shockwave not the whole history of the transformers galaxy.
Fair enough :) hope I can win you over with a future story or two!
I liked shockwave, he was one of the first transformers I owned, and I think that was before I even saw him on Transformers
I myself never had Shockwave but he must have been an awesome toy to have. Especially as one of tour firsts! :)
I’m a HUGE Shockwave fan and I really do not like the senator backstory. In fact I’ve always kind of hated it. I always preferred him to be the way he is because he went mad constantly experimenting on himself in search of the most logical and powerful form. He himself was sort of an outcast and he was known of, but everyone was warned to stay away. His obsession on achieving perfection eventually lead to him mutilating himself into the form we know and love. His arm cannon I can give some leeway to, but the Fall of Cybertron explanation is my favourite. He joins the Decepticons because they were the most likely to win, ergo the choice was logical. His true allegiance is to Cybertron. Anyway I just don’t like the idea of him being the way he is because of a punishment, I just feel it takes away from his character too much and kind of kills a lot of the mystery surrounding him.
That's fair :) Senator Shockwave isn't for everyone. I do like your interpretation of a mad scientist experimenting on himself though! Who knows...maybe that's might be the route Skybound Comics take :)
As much as I love the Megatron loyalist Shockwave, I think I prefer him more as a traitorous schemer that’s ready to overthrow Megatron.
And also, Shockblast actually did appear in a show. He appeared in Transformers Energon where he wasn’t an evil loyal scientist who served Megatron, but rather a violent and psychotic criminal who betrayed him any chance he could get. He also had a brother named Sixshot (No relation to the G1 character).
Yes the Shockwave whose true loyalty is to pure logic is a more interesting character. I never really got into the Energon universe but Shockblast does sound like an infinitely better character than g1 cartoon shockwave :)
Shockwave is the GOAT!
The one eyed GOAT :)
You should see whats behind my one eye... Look clooosseerrrr.
🤣🤣🤣
When I was a kid I never had Megatron, but I had Shockwave and he always led the Decepticons. I always considered him Megatron's #1 as he was left in charge of their home planet. Somehow without energon Shockwave was able to keep the lights on. Throughout the cartoon he was always trusted and loyale. He also had a powerful transformation and did not need to be wielded which always led me to believe he was more powerful. A floating / flying gun that can self shoot? Enough Said.
Yeah any way you look at it, giant flying space gun of death trumps handheld weapon any day 😅 it would make more sense to leave the more loyal and stable Shockwave in charge in Cybertron. Imagine if he left Starscream? That dude would've started a revolution on day 1 😅
Who would win in a fight, a writer for Superman or a writer for Batman?
That depends....Will the writer of Batman have time to plan beforehand? 😅
Shockwave from the show's bible from the 1980s was damaged in war, not turned into a coldhearted logical scientist. He was pals with Skyfire and Starscream and the seekers. He already was kind of insane. The female autobots had damaged him, which is why he was angry at them in the stories they appeared. Having a similar gun mode to Megatron, but more ray gun like, based on Laser Man.
The IDW story sounds more like Sentinel then it does Shockwave.
As one of the descendants of Omnicus Prime, he has the power of combination and can create new Transformers.
Marvel comics were infamous for making covers that didn't happen in the comic. I had them as a teenager back in the 80s.
His loyalty to Megatron is only part of his plan, although he does rule OG Cybertron for millions of years.
I wasn't aware of the show bible history of Shockwave. Thanks for that! Gives a lot more context at least for the show :)
As for the comic covers yeah but I don't think that was exclusive to Marvel...I think most comic companies are guilty of using that tactic. It's like CZcams thumbnails today...you gotta compete with so many others that you need to visually hook your readers/viewers from the very start :)
did you know shock wave is VERY similar to BattleTech highlander originally BattleTech used Japanese licenced bots don't know the history but i bet there is a connection even have the one arm gun and same head
Yup im remotely aware of that :) Back in the 80's Japan was a goldmine for US toy companies :) a lot of the popular US robots came from Japanese toys :)
BOTH ARE TOP FAV
And for good reason:)
its from the toy that RadioShack had at one time
Yes that was one of the more popular ones if I remember right..."shack" wave 😅
Whirl lost his face pretty much the same way.
Yes he did, but he was kind of a jerks wasn't he? 😅
@StoriesFromTheToyshelf He got issues. Luckily, Whril got Cyclones and Tailgate in the end.
@mauricehooks320 thatsbannice way ro put it 😅 he was still one of the best characters developed in IDW. Considering he was pretty much nothing before. Will definitely do a story of him one if these days :)
@@StoriesFromTheToyshelf I wasn't sure if read IDW Transformers. The best. Yeah Whirl was nobody back in the day. If you compare all the early stuff to IDW everyone was nobody. They gave them life. You got to admit that Whirl was one the funniest members on the Lost Light.
@mauricehooks320 funniest and most memorable....although Swerve iss pretty much up there too. That's what I loved about IDW, although some masy say their stories got too convoluted and confusing towards the end, I really loved how the reinvented and redeveloped formerly underutilised characters and made them fan favorites :)
The Lemon Tree Shockwave that turns into the Ship from the original movie
Yes I saw that! Awesome idea. Did you get it? How was the quality?
Soundwave, Shockwave and Skywarp!!!
So I sssssseeee you have a thing for ssssssss 😅
@@StoriesFromTheToyshelf You, have ssssseen it well. And 'wa'
..' apparently 😉
@pvhep4036 ha ha I missed that "wa" n 😅😅😅
I had a shockwave that was dark blue instead of purple
Interesting. He has been released in varying shades of purple and blue over the years...or wascthat one of the original ones that shockwave was based on?
@@StoriesFromTheToyshelf I remember that it didn't have any stickers so my dad put one of Skywarps on his chest so it was definitely possible. I'm 50 now so you can imagine the memories may be a tad hazy
@@Autistic_Artist yeah that sounds like an original toy from Japan. I got a lot of those as opposed to actual Transformers:)
Funny you have a shot of that one accident cover of Marvel Transformers where they forgot to do Primes shoulders and forearms, so it looks like his arms come right out of his sides, not his shoulders. It's not collectable, just funny.
Oh I didn't notice that! Now I have to go look for it on my own video 😅😅😅
You could do another video, showing that 1 eyed things..caaan..see just fine. Monoscopic depth perception..is a real thing. While obviously multifaceted inputs are usually superior..a cyclops wouldn't live long.."in any universe..", without the ability to simply avoid running into simple obstacles ..much less, perform complex tasks..(like safely function in a laboratory).
Thanks! I'm afraid I'm not too much of an expert on one eyed perception 😅 but yes you do bring up interesting points. I know it was an ongoing joke on Futurama that Leela had no depth perception due to her one eye 😅
Okay....I'm subscribing So can you please do a video onnnnnn, wait for it, wait for it,,,the "Robo Smasher"🙏🏽😎🤘🏾
Oh wow now THAT is a deep cut 😅 ill make sure to give the Robo Smasher a shout out when I do my video on the Constructicons 👍 and thank you for subscribing! Much appreciated!
AMK Yolopark Shockwave is the best version ever.
Haven't seen that...is that the model kit?
Excited ako sa Pre Order ko Bumblebee movie Studio Series Shockwave yung voyager class! I think kukuha ka rin nun sir.
He he....ok lang, hindo ko sobrang type ang BB movie designs 😜
Who would win between Megatron's more powerful part Galavatron or Shockwave?
Well I guess I'd take Galvatron head on...but the guy is also insane and the much more logical Shockwave would eventually find a way to defeat him.
Spread the word 🗣🗣
Thanks 😅
damn i have that in a box somewhere.....along with t he fishy deceptiocon megabot
Megabot? Or did you mean combiner? Piranacon?
I’m a deception now fuck the senate
You got that right! 😅
not disappointed good job also shockeave is better wave
Glad you liked it! Agree with you on your preference of wave!
Id always like to see shockwave vs Megatron the 1980's versions that turn into guns see which can beat who
If we're talking alt modes I'd put my money on Shockwave as I'd think giant space gun would trump handheld firearm any time 😜
@@StoriesFromTheToyshelf agreed 👍 I so thought thought that the second or third season of transformers cartoon before Galvatron that shockwave should've taken over for Megatron as leader he would've been way cooler
@CBGavel yup! Shockwave was SORELY underused in the cartoon. Would've been. An awesome episode or two if they just returned to Cybertron and found out that he had taken over 😅
@@StoriesFromTheToyshelf right and have him in control of the insections they probably could've come up with more inspections. Would've been a good story to introduce trictacon or some others to
@@CBGavel think of all the different cool TFs shockwave could've been responsible for :)
Shockwave superior
Yes he is 👍👍👍
TF Prime Shockwave is the best characterization in my opinion
The mad scientist is always a winner in my book :)
Soundwave superior...shockwave inferior
Agree to disagree 😅 although to be fair I do think Soundwave is cool too :)
New subscriber here.
Welcome! And thank you for subscribing! It's much appreciated :)
Soundwave superior,Shockwave inferior......
In the cartoons.....everything else though.... 😅
You really need to invest in the Lemon Tree Purple Potato Shockwave you must have seen it if not I will say no more, however I will add worth every penny spent on it and I wish I had 2 one for each mode.
Yeah he does look like a great quality toy! But for some odd reason, I'm not a big fan of the Bumblebee movie aesthetic as a whole...I know that they're all a big improvement and a step closer to the classic designs that we all know and love, but for some reason, something just feels off to me about them 😅 But yeah will definitely keep your high recommendation in mind :)
