Once you get taken to jail, turn around and steal the contraband in the holding cell cargo containers. Then walk down to the Trade Authority and sell that as well.
That is always open and resets after 48 hours, so just walk in rinse and repeat when in Neon.
Madame savage and syndicate hideout also have contraband spawns.
The whole 'Trade Authority will launder your stolen items' is part of a mission in Neon, and pretty much explicitly said during another one in New Atlantis, and again when you meet the one in Cydonia.

You surely do have a lot of fun as an Angry Turtle in the game. It was a lot of fun to watch and ponder every so often have a crime in the city mood swing and go on a rampage. Then wash it with the accomplice TA 😂.
Funnily enough this behavior suits perfectly the corrupted neon guards even though I don't think this was planned by Bethesda.

Sleep on Venus for 6 hours(UTC 600), That should reset the inventory on the wall. Unless the patch changed that.
The whole stolen mechanics in BGS games is ridiculous. How does a guard in the next town over know that apple you have was stolen off someone's dinner table when there were no witnesses?

Void form power lets u steal anything anywhere. Also FYI starfield stealth is affected by gear equipped. Take off all items and look at differences

When "washing" your stolen goods go to the "all" tab to make selling stolen items faster.
This is super useful for NG+ runs as the Novalight is good until you get a Starshard. Great job on this one!
You get one of these guns a low powered Equinox via Ryjin storyline, I've kept it and have loads of fun stunning them, then going up to them with a Vaarunblade lol.

I think it's 24 hours Venus time but not 100% sure.
The best place for digipicks from solely 1 vendor is the guy in The Key to the right, he has the most I've seen for 1 vendor, like 14 at a time after a reset, the Trade Authority guy a bit further down is hit and miss.

I had Andreja's head in stealth for over 1 hour the other day, and Sam is in nothing but a cowboy hat and a pair of pants after taking his gear off him.
Despite the crashes and bugs the game has been enjoyable so far, over 100 hours in and still have 15 main story missions to do. You can just get lost for hours exploring.
I am over 180 hours in and I only got 2 Starborn powers because I have been doing so many side missions.
I think I'm ready to admit this game is a let down. Not a 1 out of 10, but it's like getting free green tea ice cream. Yeah.... thanks... I guess. Yeah, I'll take it.... but I will only eat half of it.
