My mom is from El Salvador and i showed her this video and it brought her to tears. It made her so happy to hear someone say nice things about her country instead of the negativity you hear about it all the time. You are truly amazing and keep doing what you're doing!

I just saw it from the plane window as I was leaving Nicaragua (as a teen), but what I got to see is a beautiful country.

it's hard to find a doctor that actually really into their job that truly serve other life's. that's why you're a good example of doctor.
Raihan Fadhil its hard to find any young person who is into there job period. I am 23 and work in welfare. I love it and im only in it because i believe in social justice and human rights to be and feel supported. It is rediculous how many people i come across in my line of work who are only in it to meet funding guidelines and to tick a box. They arent really in it to help members of the community. It is sad and really fustrates me.
Well done to Dr Mike for sharing his passion and love for the line of work he does.
i've just received the amazing news that I passed medical school! now that im a doctor. all i want to do are these medical missions to third world countries. i visited cape town last year and worked in a township hospital and i absolutely loved it!!!

It's so cringey that whenever he's on tv, they always refer to him as Instagram's hottest doctor. People are going to stereotype him for his looks and not as a doctor.

My whole family is from El Salvador and I’m truly proud that someone is finally doing something to help my country out. I’m an amazed and inspired. Every since I was little I always wanted to help people and be a doctor and that will be my goal in life. Thank you so much for what you are doing!!

This is really inspiring I was shocked because El Salvador is not a really known place and it’s a very poor place and to see that a person who has a big platform is educating people about El Salvador and at the same time helping the people in their is truly inspiring!

My dad is El Salvadoran so that makes me part El Salvadoran but I say I am 100% El Salvadoran............I used to not like that I was El Salvadoran because I’m a junior in high school but I’m short as hell so everyone says did you like skip a couple of grades And I’m just like no lol and literally 90% of the Latinos in my school they are Mexican
Dr. Mike, this is such a beautiful video! It's too bad more people haven't viewed it, because it shows both the beauty and the trials of El Salvador, which most USAmericans (like me) know nothing about it, and how hardworking and dedicated the medical professionals are there. I can't believe I didn't see this video before! As a child of Salvadoran immigrants, I feel honored and extremely grateful to have Dr. Mike help the Salvadoran people. Knowing that he took time and effort to fly over there and help my people brought a smile to my mother and I's face. My family is from El Salvador and I spend many summers of my childhood there. Unfortunately you were correct the country and people as a whole have been through so much. The people are always so welcoming and do so much with the little they have. Over the years there has been progress and it’s videos like this that help bring light to this amazing little country. I was in tears seeing you help those older ladies!!! I hope to slowly help myself and Mom have a healthier life. Right now I am in a deep battle with my mental health so much that just doing the dishes and cleaning is a lot but even last year that was impossible. I liked the water bottle idea and I think I will try that with Mom. She's 69 and she can lift more weight than me (38) because of my shoulder and back issues. I wish I could find a doc who is compassionate and caring like you! I havent had a doc my whole life and I am scared to get one who would discriminate against me or Mom (like her old doc used to do). I finally got health care last year but havent been able to even look because my mind is such a mess. Anyway, thank you for what you do and for not being a racist jerk. The way you spoke about El Salvador gives me hope that there are good people out there, respecting their history and culture even a little (very similar to my country Nicaragua).

I was born here in the US but my family is from El Salvador and we know the struggle over there...some of my own family has passed from illnesses that could have been cured but for lack of medical attention...they lacked the funds or the means to get to a doctor. El Salvador is such a beautiful place with so many beautiful souls. My dad is from El Salvador, and they have had so many devastating things that have happened there but when I went to visit a year ago (and 7 years ago) I was welcomed with open arms. Although it’s one of the most poverty stricken, most dangerous places (gang violence) it is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been! I’m glad you got to go El Salvador and experience the kindness and hospitality the people have to offer as well as helping out!
