Currently removing my clock spring, sharing the same experience as you, I understand it was SCARY
Unfortunately I broke my clock spring taking off my steering wheel so I just bought a replacement part, I was panicking thinking it was gonna be hard but thankfully it looks pretty straightforward thank you for the mini tutorial !! 👍🤙
no worries, I did the exact same thing haha. The key is to not unscrew the bolt that holds the steering wheel in all the way, so there's something to stop you from yanking out the clock spring when working the steering wheel loose.
@@ph0bolushello bud, what’s the name part for gray connector? I forgot take it from old clockspring …
@@ScamComment you mean the circle thing that I forgot too? It's the steering sensor, check part # 89245-52030 to see if it's what you need.
Thanks for the video! I ripped out mine by accident changing out the steering wheel, lol.
Haha no problem glad you found it useful, I did the exact same thing.
@Kyrie Toby nah man, we don't.
Nice !!! Love the isf
This removed my VSC and Check Engine codes!! Thanks man!
glad I could help!
Nice tutorial. Personally, I screwed up and I stripped the t25 Torx screw on one side. Now, I'm literally sitting in my IS F thinking about next steps. 😢
damn, that's tough. I guess last resort is to grab a dremel and try to grind a groove into the screw so you can get at it with a flat head.
Hey man, quick question. Do you snap off the little orange pull pin in the clock spring before putting the wheel back on? Or do you pull it all the way out?
yes, you pull it out before putting the wheel back on, I don't think you can put the steering wheel back on with that lock in place. it locks the clock spring in place so there's no movement. after you pull it out, just be sure not to rotate it too much when putting the steering wheel back on.
I have the airbag light on with the code B1800. Are you familiar with this?
It is I guess related to the clockspring but the funny thing is that everything is just working fine on the steering wheel.
I've got the airbag light on, I'm assuming it's got something to do with the cheap clock spring replacement. I'm going to be taking it out and playing around with it soon to see if it helps.
@@ph0bolus In my car was everything okay, I was just too worried and the problem comes from the guy who wrapped my steering wheel. He didn't fully clipped back the two wire connections on the back side of my steering wheel airbag. Thank God just only that :)
Whered you get that orange lock pin thing
If you buy a replacement it should come with it.
did you get an oem clock spring? rock auto has 3 but all different prices....
No, I just grabbed one off ebay. The cars throwing the airbag light though, so I suspect it's because of the cheap clock spring.
Cant find anything on a 16 is model you?think it should be really similar??
Yeah man, for the most part the clock springs shouldn't be too different. Just remember to reuse your old angle sensor. The clock spring is separate.
@@ph0bolus okay thank you!
