    This is my second time installing this type of backsplash and, for the money, it looks great and doesn't take a whole lot of time. This backsplash is from Amazon (link below) but the 1st time I used it, I got it from Home Depot (link below). The Home Depot brand has a little more noticeable higher quality but not enough to make up the 50% cost difference, IMO.

    I know a couple people that used the Giani and said they had great results. One had on for 4 years until she sold her house and the other just did a color change after 5 years.

  • @a-customshandcraftedguitar6224

    This is a good video on the subject and informative, however to say that contractors don't level anything is absurd. I spent 30 years as a Forman working both residential and commercial working every trade. Once completed typically in 3 to 6 months even the newest home will settle as different materials jockey for comfort in a complete system. Again this touches on issues most home owners find "the hard way" due to lack of knowledge or skill and improper tooling. Something to consider when starting DIY projects, thanks.

    If you don't mind the work and have buddies to help you can pull the cabinets and counter tops and reinstall them and level them... if it is a old kitchen might as well get new cabinets then... yay old houses and the can of worms that pop open when you try to update a room...

    I just used this thick plastic product and found it very hard to cut around corners. It splits in intersection when using pliers to break off. Use a Drexel if using the smooth white subway version.

    • @geraldlifton65
      @geraldlifton65 Před rokem

      You used thick plastic? Quite confused when you talk about pliers. I think you meant to say Dremel not Drexel but you wouldn't need either one of those tools if you're using the same stuff that I put up on my walls

    Hello i purchased this tile fron amazon. It is a big learning curve for me considering it is my first time. The outlets are challenging.
    How do you fill in any gaps. If I decided to pull off and start over do I really need to adhesive remover?😢

    • @GROVELAND
      @GROVELAND  Před měsícem +1

      any larger gaps I just filled with white caulk. If you pull it off and start over, I would get the surface back to as smooth as possible. Scrape and clean or you won't get good adhesion when you reapply the material

    • @GROVELAND
      @GROVELAND  Před 4 měsíci

      I did not, only because we don't really splash water everywhere. If you're worried about water getting behind the backsplash, I'd clear caulk it.
