Hi all welcome back to another video Dereck Reacts back at it again! This time around we take a look at another First Time Reaction made possible via PATREON with Elsa Lunghini and her song "T'en va pas." This big hit in France didn't age too well, but does have many memorable moments like a great keyboard arrangement and solid storyline. See what I think about this one!

Cutie Elsa. You know Dereck, this song is quite appreciated by French people for the sake of nostalgia. That’s about it. The song is cute, the keyboard arrangements nice but it will work for people that grew up with this song. She had a few hits that performed quite well back in the day as a very young adult but that’s about it.
This pretty song was important for children with broken families. Another Elsa song that maybe could meet Dereck's requirements : "Jour de neige" (snow day).

One of my favourite songs in French language. You can feel this song when you speak French ☹️
When this song hit the success in France, I was 4 y.o. and my father was often away for the whole week because of his job, I didn't really understand it was about a parental break-up, the only thing I knew, is that it says "Papa please don't leave". So it kinda became my favorite song, and I played it again and again.

What a lovely singer and song that brought so much memories. I was addicted to this when it came around. She was a teen age pop star 1986 to 1988 were her great years with a number of number 1s and 2s like "T’en va pas" above that was her first hit. Then she had "Quelque chose dans mon cœur" (reached #2) and "Un roman d’amitié" (#1) and "Jour de neige". All these are from her album "Elsa". By the 1990s, she slipped in popularity. But I remember "À la même heure dans deux ans" and "Jamais nous" and "Rien que pour ça" and "Bouscule-moi"

Beautiful song by Elsa she went by her first name at least that's how they marketed her at the time as her stage name. She was like 13-14 at the time. Vanessa Paradis (Johnny Depp's ex) with "joe le taxi" came out about the same time. On the U.S end, you've had Debbie Gibson and Jennifer you probably weren't around yet. But yeah these teen artists were popping up left and right, nothing creepy just how it went. Yeah it's about parents breaking up, her trying to patch things up with them. True the song stucks in time I still reminisce about this song at times yet it's been over 30 years ago it truly stucks in you. Appreciate you appreciating the song.

Love all your reviews of all the great french artists, and all the french 80s artists like Elsa here. The best french artist after legendary Mylene Farmer however I think is the brilliant current singer "Pomme" that has a amazingly beautiful voice and is a very gifted talent musically. You should give her a listen/reaction. Basically all her songs are brilliant, but good examples with interesting videos would be the official video for "Anxiete" or "La Brulera".

this is an OST song for the movie "La femme de ma vie" (the woman of my life) She 's 13 when sing this song for the movie.
This song was not meant to be one at first, It was only a few bars within the movie "La Femme de ma Vie" in which Elsa played a part.
The full song has been written afterwards when producers realized some magic was happening at that specific time in the movie when Elsa was playing piano and singing only a few words. She was only 13.
It makes me thing about "Coeur de Loup" from Philippe Lafontaine cause he sang it at a TV show in duet with Elsa. You should like it 😉

This song is her first single released in October 6,1986 (she was only 13), and this is the Soundtrack of La Femme De Ma Vie (The Woman Of My Life) in which she plays and performs this song.She's the first 80's Lolita (before Alizée in 2000's) to reach the first place in TOP 50, no.1 for 8 consecutive weeks.
She's also the niece of Marlène Jobert who has been a well-known actress since 60's.
It also exists a Long Version of this song, it continues after the fade out and I prefer the long version (5'28) often broadcast on radios.

T'as vu elle aussi la pauvre n'a pas été validée alors que tout comme Karen elle a été no.1 au Top 50 (8 semaines) bien avant sa compatriote Vanessa Paradis quelque mois après (en juillet je crois, sortie du disque en mai si mes souvenirs sont bons).
Je trouve qu'en ce moment il est très "dur" niveau goût alors qu'il y a encore quelques mois il aurait validé, j'en suis sûre! Je trouve qu'il a changé, d'autres ont dû lui "souffler" dessus!

@@jevousemmerdetouslesthunde2391 Il nous couvre un truc notre Dereck. Regarde la petite tache blanche sur la gauche de sa barbe (droite à l'écran). C'est du Vitiligo. Il n'y avait rien il y a 3 mois.
C'est une réaction auto-immune dans laquelle les cellules de mélanine qui provoquent la pigmentation de la peau et des poils sont détruis par le système immunitaire.
Notre ancien 1er ministre a eu ca à cause du stress (qui favorise le déclenchement de reaction auto immunes.) Donc j'imagine que Dereck subit pas mal de stress en ce moment (la relative contre-performance de France Gall la semaine dernière avec le coup de fil de la manageuse YT qui accompagne ce genre de flops ne doit pas aider à bien dormir... )
