- This will reset your body control module and fix the rapid blinker/brake light after replacing the bulbs. After you replace the bulbs, some people are still having issues with the blinker/brake light not working, this is creating the blinker inside the truck to flash rapidly and the brake light and blinker not to work on the outside of the truck. This is a way to reset the body control module and get the blinker/brake light to work again.

Thank You. This problem was driving me crazy. I have a $200 scanner and a plug and play "Blue Driver" scanner similar to what you used. The cheap model did the trick. The more expensive may have been capable and I missed it since it not as operator friendly. Thank you to all the people posting fix-it videos on CZcams, you have saved me lots of money over the years.

I hope this helps me take care of my rear light issue. It's only been a day and I've swapped out relays n fuse like crazy. Hopefully amazon delivers early tomorrow!!

DUDE, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you... I have a 2012 F-150 and have been dodging the police for over a year because of my break light -turn signal not working. I replaced the bulbs, traced the wiring, took the trailer plug apart, checked all of the fuses then banged my head against the wall. My ford dealer quoted me $850 then I found your utube video I bought the Foseal wi-fi OBD 2 reader from Amazon and downloaded the ford app. Total cost was $21.00 and I was able to reset the error code (ground fault code) and it worked like a champ. AGAIN THANK YOU.

Had My 2011 F150 at two shop (not ford dealers) both came to the conclusion that it was the Body Control Module and it needed to be replaced. I had a cheap scanner no codes came up and I was just not convinced that the BCM was bad no other issue just the hyper flash, on one side /and the 4 way flasher on that same side rear did not work. UNTIL I FOUND YOUR VIDEO !!!! Awesome explanation of how you repaired the issue.. purchased the ELM wired style to my laptop downloaded forscan for windows free extended trial. used it found the same short to ground in the BCM cleared codes vias the forscan and ELM fixed the issue.. i am again so thankful that you put out a video.. Thank you sir
Thanks for the video -- This also works when the Front turn signals, the high Brake, & rear tail lights all work but, the Rear brake lights and turn signal lights stop working. Just cleared codes in the BCM using the OBDII and now everything works. 2011 Ford F150

This worked for me, you need to use the forscan app because it allows you to reset the BCM. worked like a charm! thank you!
Interesting. Changing my bulbs today. I have an ODB II scanner, although not the same brand, so if I have the rapid blinker issue at least I have some information on how to possibly fix it. Thanks for the video.

Thank you for this video.... I had the same issue after getting rear ended and could never figure out what was going on.... I tried changing the bulbs and even using my trusty handheld odb2 scanner and didn’t get any codes. Bought the same WiFi scanner you used and the app and it worked like a charm!! Thank you again
Question I got rear ended too 2016 f150 my signal and break lights dont work. Were your bulbs broken mine aren't???

Thanks for the help. Resetting the codes made mine blink again and the brake light work, but the fast blinker is still on although everything works.

I hope this works I have 2 handheld scanners and didn’t find any codes but I still clicked erase on both of them and nothing worked checked fuses and everything so I bought the scanner u said I have no turn signal or brake light on back passenger side.

Hi there. I got a 2011 fx4 f150. Rear turn signal light not flashing at all from driver turn signal work rapidly. I tried the scanner I did click (check engine) no codes on the screen show me 3 options READ EXPORT CLEAR. I click read first after reading I click clear nothing happened. Same thing. Am not doing it on my phone I got the app on my computer
How you know what code fix the problem
I have a 2016 f150. Mine is portraying the same symptoms but they’re intermittent. Usually when its hot. Which I live in Texas so, always usually hot! Anyways both bulbs on my driver side rear are good. I have good voltage to harnesses and continuity among everything. However still the same issue. Is this remedy something I could try before taking it in? I know I’m late to the party but thanks in advance!

Didn't work for me. Ordered it, tried it, did not work. Unless you have some sort of code in the body control module this will not cure or cut off the hyper flash in your vehicle. I have LED bulbs in the front and rear of my 2013 F-150 Lariat and I have resistors that have broken at the ends. So it looks like I will be looking for another option.

In the FIRST PLACE, why does Ford make it so difficult just to CHANGE A LIGHTBULB??? Why not just change a light and everything works like it's supposed to. Ford is not USER FRIENDLY!
