Question for u. Totally not related to this video but I have 2019 F-150 3.5L ecoboost. Cold start up has a bad clutter noise from engine. Now check engine light turns on and sluggish when taking off. At highway speeds it stays in low gear. I called dealer for cam phasers warranty but they said it's not out yet. Need help. I love my truck and use it for work. If I don't have my truck than I don't work. If I don't work I can't pay for truck and just a domino effect. 😊

Did this today on my 2011 F-150. With only 56,000 miles I was experiencing this and thought I bought a used truck with a major problem. Watched your video and got the tools for the job. Kit on Amazon was $29.49 shipped. I had everything else already. Did this with a jack and two stands. Just be careful. I took my time and followed the steps thoroughly and had nothing but great results. No more bump when taking off! I am pleased with this and if it will be no big deal if I need to do it again in the future. Great video! I used testors paint for reference marks. I made two different colored reference marks on the boot end and ended up needing both to ensure that I was properly lined back up. So happy with the results!

Guy you are the epitome of what instructing, teaching, training is and should be. To properly explain something and why is the best for anyone to learn and retain the information and lessons. If people dont comprehend or understand, they wont learn anything, they'll simply just be repeating what they heard/saw. Example, such as at 5:15 some guys would just say to mark it, but not explain why. The 'why' is what makes people really learn it. Excellent video.

He released a 2V spark plug repair video right after my F-250s V10 spit a plug. After having a local machine shop "fix" the same issue on my Mustang resulting in another blowout and engine fire under 100 miles later I decided to fix it myself for cheaper. It's been a few years and my driveway fix using the tools, advice, and methods in his video is still holding up, sucker pulls my camper all over 6 months out of the year and drags my brothers boat to the lake and back each season as well. I'm certainly thankful for his contribution to the Ford owners community and have happily shared his videos with fellow owners over the years.

I just completed this fix. It worked! It took me two hours but no more bump at stop or take off. Thank you bro!! I love my F150 again. Next thing is exhaust manifolds. Fingers crossed that goes as planned without and broken studs.

The best video you have done! I have the exact same truck with the exact same problem! I have had two separate local Ford dealers do this service, both did it incorrectly. The first lied about using the white Teflon grease. They used blue grease as we discovered at the second dealer. The second dealer used the Teflon grease, but only on the slip yoke that slides into the transfer case. Not sure if any of them did the mid section yoke, if they did they didn’t mark the splines. I took your old video on my iPad to the second dealer to show em how should be done. I have 3 or 4 Ford dealers in this town and all have incompetent service departments. Thank you for this video! 2014 F150 157 WB 6.2 V8 4X4 12k miles.

I’ve had to do this twice on my ‘07 FX2. Easy job and I don’t jack the rear, I put it on ramps, parking brake on, front wheels chocked and trans in neutral to unload it. Easy to get the shaft off, separate, clean and grease the reassemble making sure to phase the u-joints correctly. For a boot clamp I fuse a heavy zip tie and it works. Repeat every 80,000 miles. When I bought the truck it had the clunk and I got the price down $2,000 because of it. 1 hour later it was fixed. Enjoying your channel. 195,000 miles on the 5.4L and going strong.

I gotta say thanks a lot for this video, you pointed out the directions so clearly that it only took me about 2 hours to get the job done.
The result was impressive, the driving is so freaking smooth right now!!!! I was pissed off about that bump while taking off or stopping, I drive a f150 2012 fx2 with 140k miles, Thanks a lot again and keep up the good job that you are incredibly doing.

Thought my transmission was about to quit. Did this first. It always had a stop start bump. Then recently slight jolts in shifting but not every time and not the same gear either. This helped everything. Feels solid and not sloppy anymore.

    Then no more issue.

The algorithm knows too much. This is exactly what my Nissan Frontier is doing. Taken it to 3 different shops, including the dealer, describing what I was feeling. "Drive shaft is tight, brakes are good," all three times. I know what I'm doing next Saturday. Thank you!
