I cannot tell you how much money you have saved me and built my confidence when it comes to working on cars. I honestly used to just have my car serviced and I always got ripped off. Your videos and the great detail you put has helped me work on my own car. Your enthusiasm makes it really fun to work on and not a hassle when I have to maintain my vehicles. From your videos, I have been able to easily work on my Mazda RX8, Ford Explorer, and Jeep Compass. No longer will I have to spend thousands of dollars on mechanics when it will typically cost me less than 200 hundred and I learn something new. Thank you, Chris.
Awesome!!! I love hearing stuff like this! That is the goal by far! I spend so much time trying to make each video as detailed and concise as possible so you dont waste your time and learn a lot while still enjoying the video!
Speaking of RX-8 where's the apex seal tutorial ChrisFix
lol. Would be easier than piston ring tutorial. 13b Ftw
Solomon Cornish lol right. I think if you look up rx8-ls conversion you'll find it.
Very true. I was watching you when I was changing out the wheel hubs on my Gen Coupe.
This guy is better than most instructors I've had in school.
Hahaha I know right, I’ve thought similar
My autoshop teacher actually will on occasion use a Chrisfix video as part of a lesson
My instructor is making my class watch this lol
That's the God's honest truth
Are you from Croatio
Just think , 10 years ago, I paid the Nissan Dealer $600.00 to do this to my Little Nissan truck 'cause there was no vid or easy way to do this or change the U-joints.....That's $600.00 and all day waiting for them to do it....Goes to show you what kind of $$ you save by doing it yourself with a superb instructor like Mr Chris Fix showed here..!!!!,,Just saying..!!!!....You rock, Sir !!!!!!!!!😊😊😊😎😎
That’s crazy!!! Glad everyone is learning!
ToyManFlyer1100 I paid 600 for my first car lol
There thief s
I am...Your vid on drum brakes saved me a ton!!!!!..And showed it wasnt as hard as I thought!!!!..Yeah, Those "Stealerships" are a wolf in sheep's clothing...And the thing that gets me is "Shop supplies"..What is that??..$20.00 for paper towels???? or the same shop rag thats gets used on about 4 or 5 cars that day????
I know, Right??..Mines was a '71 Ford Pinto...$400.00 and drive away....Lol..!!!
As a seasoned tech myself I must say I’m impressed with your step by step, very descriptive instructions. Your happy go-lucky narration is a added perk for simplifying the process and subconsciously giving your watchers a touch of confidence. Well done sir.
Your info on the plastic retainers is a LIFE SAVER BRO!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!
No problem!
If ChrisFix does it in 22 minutes, it takes me 2 days
Ian Logan ME TO! But still love to do it myself! I really enjoying working on my car now!
Yeah, really.
You need the parts then the tools then a Vice and a shop...that's 2 days.
Oh, I think if Chris didn't edit his videos as much as he does, you'd find that it takes HIM a lot more than 22 minutes to see a project to completion. His brake fluid replacement video took probably an hour of prep before the camera even began rolling. He had the Mazda on no fewer than 4 jack stands and the differential was supported by a floor jack.

I've probably watched 100s of auto repair videos over the years, and this is by far the best video I have seen. The video is high resolution, the shots are clear, the edits are sharp, and the flow is quick and crisp. No fluff or wasted time. Amazing job! Thank you!
Its uncommon for someone to explain something so comprehensively. It takes effort to put yourself in the mindset that removes the assumption of basic knowledge of any subject, this guy nails it! Nice job, thanks.
I just spent 20 minutes learning how to replace U joints. I don't have a car.
But now you know how to replace U joints if you ever get a car that has them!
And you can help your friends replace theirs!
ChrisFix dont delete your channel in the next few years, i need those vids for a project car lol..
TheBillusBillus me too
Lmfao
I swear if Chris Fix did a video on heart surgery then after watching it and getting pumped up with positivity I'd go out and attempt it.. Love ya videos Chris.. Every angle covered!
Haha, that's awesome!
jayc changing oil and filter on 2008 buick
😂😂😂 he makes things look easier, i don't think if he knows that he is the best teacher
Hhahhaha i know right! I dont have a vehicle with ujoints but now i want to find someone that does and fix em
I was thinking more like knee or hip joint replacement surgery. I mean really, once you get over the aspect of working inside a human body it’s pretty mechanical use of tools etc. How hard can it be? Medical grade sawzall or Dremel to cut out the old part; drill some holes; titanium screws and bolts to install the new joint, lubrication. Done.
Your videos are great. You don’t give us 10 min of non-sense jabber. You explain what your goal is and your step by steps are great. Easy to understand for even the novice. Anytime I do a “first time for me” on my vehicles, your videos are at the top of my list to watch first. Thanks for what you do!
Thanks a lot!!! Glad the videos are helpful!
Its people like you that make life a little easier. thanks for the video... great job
No matter what you're fixing, you explain it so that everything is simplified and the average DIY mechanic can understand it. That's for the vids bro!
Thanks man! That’s the goal!
ChrisFix do you recommend a drinking game where every time you say “u-joint” I have to drink something? I’m not 21 yet soooo probably water
E Man being under 21 never stopped anybody else right? 😂🤷♂️

@@eman7579 At least drinking habits will get U-Jointed together... (with people) 😄 👍
This man deserves an honorary doctorate in teaching and performing vehicle maintenance. Production and editing quality is brilliant! Absolutely superb videos!
Thanks a lot! I'm glad you love the videos!
Totally agree!!
Chris keeps it simple.
Heis videos are superb
The editing quality is amazing Indeed!!
I was gonna make how to videos but Chris fix covers it all. Do not waste your time with anyone's videos. He covers it ALL
Thank you! For not only repairing your specific vehicle but showing every option people might come across and how to do it in many different ways! As well as the symptom’s actually driving your truck and showing some signs .Your the best automotive instructor on the planet
You just need your own TV show dude. Thumbs up if you agree!
Thanks!
@@chrisfix I can see it now, ChrisFixit! New on Discovery.
I rather not. He has 100% creative freedom on youtube. Places like discovery will chage everything. Remember Roadkill?

Saved me with the plastic retainers man !!!! Thank you so much, God bless !!!
I'm old school. we replace them when they break. It's simple to do this job without dorections. Chris your channel is great.
So once you see the driveshaft in your rear view is when you decide to replace the u joints? Very dangerous sir...

ChrisFix, you have a special way of conveying information so that a dude like myself can understand and learn from your advice. Not only do you make it easy to follow but im having a blast learning from you. The energy and positive tone you carry actually encourage me not only to watch more of your content but to want to get hands on with the experience. Thanks for helping me get in the zone.
Thank you for your detailed and succinct descriptions of the repairs you demonstrated with this video. This helps me to understand what dealership mechanics and service personnel explain to me about my vehicle and if they are taking me for a ride instead. It also shows me that with the right tools, I could probably do this myself if I need to. You are a great teacher.
Wake up see notifications chris is back then first thing to do is to watch it
Thanks for the support!
Me too! ☺

Can you please make a drum to disc brake conversion video
Yes
nice
Mudassar Malik been waiting like 2 yrs for him to make that video when he teased us about it
Mudassar Malik MCM did one. You can check their channel
ChrisFix I have a drum brake car and the parts for a disk brake if you want
You’re a very gifted teacher my friend. I really appreciate the video.
As a backyard mechanic and a presenter, I can say this is one of the best videos I’ve ever seen. Perfection all the way. Extremely well done.
Only Chris would be the one to go to a junkyard and find a different style of driveshaft just to make sure all the bases are covered on the replacement of the U joint. You really outdid yourself. Awesome job man!!
Thanks a lot!!!!
Extra STAR for that.
Tbh I'm going through shit (nothing that much important, it's all my fault and mostly in my head.), it's 3am here, but you're there and I have something to watch now :)
I hope it gets better dude! Just remember that the bad times reminds you how amazing the good times are!

This is one of the best videos I’ve seen from auto mechanics. The production quality, information and editing is top notch. Great job!!!
I’m sure just like so many others that have watched this video, you’ve saved me a huge amount of money, not only that but I want to say I truly appreciate your tight editing, fun and interesting transitions, and concise approach to instructions. 10/10 video!
FINALLY A NEW VIDEO I BEEN WAITING FOR WEEKS!! 😭😭😭
Yesssss
I was waiting for ages to
Finally new episode ChrisFix
Yessss
Yeah finally, next waiting for ChrisFix April fools :D
This has to be, hands down, the best video on u-joint replacement on CZcams. I feel confident tackling this job on my own now. Thanks a ton, man.
Thanks! Let me know how it goes!
Awesome video!! I can't say enough about how thorough you are in detailing each step that's necessary for doing the install correctly and safely.
The effort you put into your videos is insane. Really high quality, you clearly care. Thanks Chris 😀😀🔧👍🚗
Thanks a lot!
I love how much you care about the subscriber and people who watch your videos, you got the whole drive shaft just to show us how it’s done, I just wanted to let you know that I appreciate that thanks Chris.
Thanks man! The goal is to help as many people as possible so I thought it would be important to get a driveshaft just for that extra info!
Chris you have a great way of explaining things while keeping peoples attention. You inject excitement into all your videos. Thanks for your help.
ChrisFix, you completely killed it with this video. It is by far one of the easiest to follow and is very thorough. Thank you for your content and sharing your knowledge!
I was wondering what that noise was, thanks Chris!
those transitions were incredibly clean
You just answered the question I've been asking every man I know. Thank you!
I'm glad the video answered any questions you had!
If you ever have seen his earlier videos, this man is so efficient and knowledgeable, definitely spends a lot of his time laying things out and making it very easy to learn
Clear to-the-point narration with great camera work and editing. You Are Awesome!!!

one of the most concise mechanical explanations I have come across thanks
Oops probably one of the most concise mechanical explanations I have come across thanks
Agreed!
GEEZ! This video pops up on my main page literally the day after i just spent $650 at the dealership to replace the drive shaft and U joints. I will check this channel before i take my truck anywhere ever again. U rock ChirsFix!
Same mate. I just spent $350 for it..
That's a expensive R&R.
@Gregg Sinini did you understand his sentence? Everyone else did
I never thought I could do mechanical work until I saw this guy, his teaching and method is so easy to follow, and very practical thanks heaps mate
Definitely!
One of the best instructional videos I've ever seen. Clear, concise and covered all bases. Nice job!
Your production quality is second to none Chris!
I love the show Wheeler Dealers as it shows the technical side of car repairs. However, I’d much rather watch one of your videos.
Discovery could learn a thing or two from you.
Thanks a lot Brent!
Such a shame what they did to Ed
They ruined that show
Pid I know right I can’t stand the show now it’s sad.
As a mechanic myself, I just LOVE LOVE watching your videos! You do everything thoroughly and right. Very professional work. Sadly, there aren't many mechanics out there that care for their job as much as they should though :(
Aslan Makhsudov true! Hey bro, cud use ur help if you dont mind? On my trucks drive shaft that connects to the alternator, I noticed splash of grease above it? What is it , transmission fluid??
Could be numerous of things, generally if it is around driveshafts it is from leaky seals.
@@D_Dowg626 Try topping off your blinker fluid in your radiator. I had the same issue where the oil pump fuse kept blowing out because of the static electricity of the floor mats. Do that and you'll gain a easy 50 whp and 8 psi of boost!
@@D_Dowg626 your truck has a drive shaft that connects to the alternator? Okay must be a foreign job hahaha
That's because customers always try to blame Mechanics for shit that we didn't even fucking touch
Your detailed video inspired me to revisit the u-joints on my 1960 Sprite. While I have the axle out for servicing all major seals, I had overlooked this part of the maintenance. The part about the grease displacement from the bearing boots is a great one because I had thought I was putting grease in, but on 2nd review the nipples needed to be freed from old dried grease. What gave me confidence that I could get grease in via the nipples was a test squirt with the gun before reinstalling. The final part being the grease that is displaced out the boot.. She looks ready for work now. Cheers!!
This was great! Not only am I much more confident in my ability to replace my U-joints, but I'm more certain that they are where that noise and vibration is coming from, saving me a ton of money on getting it diagnosed or trying to go through a process of elimination
Chris: walks into auto parts store.

Chris, you're a wonderful instructor. I particularly like the way you clearly explain how to do each step, and then repeat the explanation. That's a very effective teaching technique. Many thanks.
Thanks a lot!

Thanks for the support!

ChrisFix no problem✊🏿
I've worked on my own vehicles all my life and changing U-joints is something I've done as well. What I DIDN'T do when working on my U-joints is to mark the bolts to check for travel after a test ride. That's a fantastic idea! When I did it, I would tighten the bolts and then re-check the tightness after a day or two of driving. Loc-Tite is a must as well! Great video! Thanks for sharing! This week I'll be changing all the U-joints in my motorhome. Fun times. LOL Take care.
Chris, I watched two of your videos, great job by the way. Using a video under the car while it is moving is easier for people working on their cars to see how the item works. I am a retired auto mechanic and you've shown me a couple of tricks. Thank you and keep the videos coming
So I watched your video ten times, then actually changed my u joint. Then I've watched your video like 50 more times because it's just so awesome and never gets boring.
Thanks a lot!!! That really means a lot!
I’m 14 and I have learned so much from you videos. The amount of work that you put into you videos is insane. I love you channel. Best channel yet because you focus on quality and not quantity and I love that. Thanks so much. You have helped me gain confidence with helping my dad on cars and saving money. Have a good one. LOVE IT 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Absolutely one of the best vids on CZcams. I especially like that you can articulate your thoughts without the irritating use of ums, ahs, and ums, and ahs. Job well done. You are the kind of friend I would appreciate having, listening to and talking with.
"Just Like That" is My favorite phrase. Thank you Chris for sharing your vast knowledge. It is not only extremely helpful but it has saved a lot of us a lot of money.
When I saw how long the vid was I was like no way am I gonna watch a 22 min vid. But once I clicked on it I couldn't stop watching , I might watch it again 😂
Haha awesome! I spend so much time making every second worth your while. I really wanted it to be 12 min but I couldn’t cut any of the info out because it was so important
your vids are awesome, dont make short ones!
lmao, perfect timing. I literally have to change a U-Joint this week and ChrisFix posts about the very topic. No excuses for me now lol.
Perfect!!! Glad the video was helpful!
Thanks a lot Chris for this video. One can see that you put your efforts making the explanation as useful and simple as it can be possible , shortening the overall video time and emphasizing some recommendations than can lead to a wrong or right way on how to do it. Besides you try to make it accessible even to those who don't have the right tools. Congratulations
All the information and education in 22 minutes with no time wasted. Awesome, thank you! And even live video from underneath the truck while driving, wow!
Thanks!
At 50 years plus I can't tell you how many U-Joints I have replaced. From Toyotas to Chevys and Fords, but I actually learned something new watching this video. 3 Million subscribers and still responding to comments you indeed have a sub for life. Good Job Chris!

YES NEW CHRISFIX VIDEO it brings a BIG smile to my face when your video pops up in my notification feed
Thanks a lot man!
ChrisFix your videos are my favorite ones to watch when it comes to car repair and maintenance!
who else wants Chris to upload more!?
You know, for a decade I have been hopping on CZcams to watch a maintenance video every time before I start a project. It helps me familiarize myself with the upcoming work. While it's been a massive help, I have always wished more from some of the guys that upload. Many videos (while helpful), really miss the mark to teach their viewers about potential conflict points. They have poor camera angles, they fail to mention differences between parts, and they generally stick to the exact parts that they have (viewer be damned if they have a different vehicle or not OEM part). I'm always able to figure it out anyways, however.
I am absolutely amazed at the quality of your videos. Great angles, you don't skip over the trivial things (like showing all 4 bolts needing to be removed -- twice), you even take multiple moments to show different drive shafts and different u joints. As a guy who teaches a lot of folks about what I know, this video does an absolute bang up job in familiarizing people into the task at hand. Never seen a mechanic video of this caliber. I don't really subscribe to channels, but you've got me on board 100%. Keep this shit up dude!
Wow! Your presentation is so professional and thorough that I couldn’t take my eyes off!
