personally, i just think that hollywood is hurt. their feelings are hurt. they’re hurt because, they have worn their work ethic on their sleeve this whole time and, they feel like they are more overlooked. that may sound silly to you, but not everyone out there is a moviestar. and as a result, we think we know what that “inside looking out” perspective/pov and feeling is. but we truly dont because, like i said, not everyone is a moviestar. so, as a result, we form opinions with logic/reasoning without factoring in human emotion, astrological/personality, the latter of which is so huge and important because, again, we think we know what their “inside looking out” is, when their literal internal God-given wiring is virtuously different than ours, but we didn’t know that this whole time. one thing i learned is, people are basically good, and if we just choose to love, and that being unconditional love, we will automatically get that unexpected reciprocity since that space in our own existentiality was occupied with the unconditional ingredient. thats how it works. always. so, yes, even these moviestars who may appear/seem to not deserve their thoughts/feelings/perspective/pov actually do, if all things are really/truly and unconditionally considered

I don't know why you would question his work ethic at all. He seems to be speaking more about motivation and ambition.
Ambition is motivated by what a person desires. As an actor, if you don't desire fame and money, what remains isn't likely to propel you into stardom.
He is probably working outside mainstream Hollywood because the work available to him fits with his motivation and ambition levels. Sometimes this matches other aspects of a person's life as well. If you place family above work on the hierarchy, you will choose your projects differently than someone doing the opposite.
My wife was offered a position in her company to be the national trainer. The job paid a lot more, with plenty of travel. She chose not to do it because she prefers to be home more often, and sleeps better in her own bed. Her motivations and ambitions don't match the job.
Another industry that requires ambition to be motivated by money, and competitiveness is sales. If you don't care much about money, and you are not competitive, working in sales is a real challenge. You can be successful, but all metrics and motivations provided by managers will be incentive driven by money and competition.
It seems to me he has lines he won't cross for the work, and he prioritizes other things than money and fame. Ethics of a different type perhaps?

@@chrichtonsworld1 you can have ambition without being a workaholic. There’s more to life than money, & some people don’t need a lot to be centered or “happy” in their life. The rich aren’t even happier, still complaining & have the same problems with relationships, divorces & everything. It’s more like chasing a money addiction that’s never enough. We’re not gonna be on our death bed wishing we spent more of our time working & chasing money.

@@Yeraveragemoron I don’t know if your comment was meant for me but I watched the whole video. I stand by what I said. I think he let a lot of great opportunities slip thru his fingers, opportunities he could have used to fund the projects he really wanted to do, but he didn’t have enough passion and ambition and was on the lazy side. The idea of the video is to sort of spin his story into some honorable rejection of Hollywood (JP followers tend to be the types who hate Hollywood for politics and such) when there is the distinct possibility he’s just mediocre.
