  • I like Kylie Jenner, I do. Out of all the Kardashian / Jenner clan I think she’s probably a sweetheart. I also think she’s been treated pretty unfairly by her family at points in her life, and I have a lot of empathy for that. HOWEVER. Kylie is also a woman who wields immense influence and power. She has hundreds of millions of followers worldwide who adore and look up to her. It’s also pretty clear that Kylie has undergone a huge physical transformation in a few short years. This is rarely natural, and in the case of Kylie, I have my doubts too. I think it’s pretty unfair for Kylie to basically insinuate that all she’s really had done to her appearance is lip filler. And that she didn’t suffer from any insecurity bar her lip insecurity. It does a disservice to her followers and further enhances these unrealistic beauty standards we’re all held to these days. Kylie, you’re amazing and have achieved so much, but please - don’t life. Honestly and openness will bring you nothing but more adoration and respect.

And then she did her teeth, probably a lower blepharoplasty, ponytail lift, brow lift, filled her cheeks, more lip filler. I feel like she got a full face lift now with how tugged her lips and cheeks look and another nose job. She also clearly has done something else to her eyes, which I guess we'll find out what it is when a bunch of other celebrities and rich people's eyes start magically changing. She claims it was pregnancy, but a symptom of pregnancy is hyperpigmentation, not the opposite. I'm guessing these people have a way to undo or prevent the hyperpigmentation that normal people don't have access to, that they can selectively use to lighten their eyes and such.

Yes, I agree, she had a standard of beauty that she expected all her daughters to measure up to. I have always wondered if Kris Jenner was the one who pushed Kylie into that very expensive and brutal facial plastic surgery and even the first boob job. Because it's very expensive and Kylie didn't fund it herself. Kylie was only 16 or 17 when she began her first plastic surgery transformations. I believe both Kourtney and Kim were under 18 when they underwent breast augmentations. Kris Jenner always set the beauty bar very high

I love how you mentioned that this isn’t the natural trajectory of puberty. I’m 25 years old and sometimes I still find myself thinking “when am I going to have my big glow up?” The reality is that I’ll never have a glow up like these celebrities because I’m not willing to go under the knife and I don’t have money to get Botox//fillers/etc.

So I’m waiting until I’m actually ready and I truly want it, and trust me it’s been hard with society influencing what we believe what the “perfect body” is but stay strong and always stand on what YOU want. Love you Steph sm 💕 you help me put my feets in the ground and rethink this things 💕 sending a lot of love and blessings ✨

I love this content from you because it’s so important especially for teenager to know that this is not the natural way to grow up or evolve. Since Social media has taken over, the pressure on young teenagers is bigger now then ever before. They all use beauty filters to get more likes they start very early with beauty procedures. Most of them have no self esteem anymore they get insecure when they don’t get a lot of likes on their photos. And to have role models like Kyle is not helping them. I don’t have anything against beauty procedures but it’s important to know that everyone has its own beauty and that everything you see on social media or tv is not always how Reality is.

Love your videos and I totally agree that it is so frustrating when celebrities lie about this stuff. I think you answered the question of why it's happening, in this case, right at the beginning though when you mentioned about her wanting to model like her sister and just being punished and ignored by her mother. If her own family made her feel worthless and ugly as a teenager (and did it in front of the world), she most probably has severe psychological problems now. Maybe she subconsciously thinks she'll be punished and ridiculed by her fans and the media if she admits to having surgeries or maybe she doesn't want to admit it because it would highlight how vulnerable she feels. Very sad really. And even more sad that her lies could push the same insecurities onto her young fans - although I'm sure that's not her intention. What a world!! 💟

Since I got into Kpop I feel sometimes I forget what "normal" guys look like! Of course not every idol gets surgery but I think they fact they're even called idols puts them on an insane aesthetic pedestal. Hugs from Ireland ❤

I’m glad you brought up the ancestry part
I’ve never had a physical complex because I was always a science girl, focused on geology, meteorology, and biology. Biology taught me about the importance of certain traits to survive. Hence why some body types are more suitable for swimming; others for climbing, etc.
When it comes to eyes, some are better for desert areas; others for high elevation.
Everything has a purpose but in modern days it’s so easy to forget the why of things. I see my traits as my superpowers once I understand their reason for being.

The thought about Kylie seing her beauty through her daughters beauty is so inspiring. You often talk about how it should be a positive thing to have the same features as our ancestors, but what if I don't like my ancestors. Not everyone is born into a happy family and it can even be traumatizing to see a horrible persons features in ones own face/body and being reminded of them every day in the mirror. But seeing features in the people you like/love/admire makes you love those features. That works with your children who can have the exact same unique features as you, but also with friends and even celebrities that you share features with. And then suddenly, you don't only have the same hooded eyes as your abusive father, but also the same hooded eyes as your son, as your best friend, as your favorite actor. And you can try to focus more on that. Another reason for that we should not all look the same operated "optimized" version. You can inspire other people to accept something about them.

My family has always joked about our noses, asking a surgeon "can we get a family discount?"
But in reality, I don't care how much money I have, I don't want to look in the mirror and not recognize myself. So i would never, ever get my nose fixed. I don't even contour it, because I don't see the point.
I also don't color my hair (the grays can come in naturally, that seemed like a better plan to me than either having to color it for the rest of my life or eventually having to let really bad roots grow in), and I don't do any anti-aging skincare.
We need to learn to live with ourselves, to see value in ourselves, and understand that aging is natural and that fighting it so hard usually ends up looking far worse than the wrinkles would have.

As a 35 years old woman I appreciated this video very much because I believe that we are perfect the way we are but the moment that you are changing your features ten you become imperfect. Off course with all that make up on and a lot a filteres, you may not see but it's definitely noticeable. And the more we are ageing to worse it gets! Apart from the fact that they all look the same which is quite 😢terrible! Like robots or something! We are beautiful, so many shapes, and shades why changing that? I will never understand. Let's age gracefully. That's a privilege since not everyone gets the opportunity! Bless you all.

Bc we aren’t entitled to get information about another persons body. If they don’t want to tell the world about what they got done they don’t have to they are allowed to keep things private. And there are plenty women in the world that look like that naturally what are y’all gonna do what you see them cry ? I think the conversation should be more about comparison bc all they did was exist in their own bodies and ppl decided to compare themselves. other people’s insecurities are not their problem and it’s not their responsibility to try to make people feel better about themselves by exposing their flaws and insecurities to the world.

It would be better to tell women that beauty standards are hard for all women including famous women and that beauty still exists outside of the standards. your beauty still stands no matter who else is in the room. Comparison is the real issue of all of this.

I hate trends. When I was younger, paper thin was in. Now, the coke bottle body I used to have is “in”. The Kardashians started the face/body augmentation trend and they should be using their power differently now after seeing the deep influence they’ve had on the masses.
