    I feel sorry for the younger generation now as everything is "so perfect" and there is a massive pressure to be the same.

      This shit trips me out. Human beings are mammals. Our bodies look the way we do because genetically we have primate bodies. Why do you think women grow hair on their legs. The 2000 were worst!!! The body goal was heroin chic, girls super skinny with no muscle, eating disorders were at a peak, all the brands photoshopped their pictures but we were not aware that that even existed so we thought that the perfection in pictures was real. Is was a horrible time to be a teenager.
      Not all past was better, I’m sorry.

    • @andin916
      @andin916 Před rokem +13

      It wasn’t bad if you were skinny 🤷‍♀️ it was still more acceptable to look like a human in other ways - you’d look like a clown with today’s makeup. just sayin.’ The curvy trend was the worst for me, because I literally cannot gain weight AND people alter pics 5000 times more now than they did back then.

    • @sluttymctits4496
      @sluttymctits4496 Před rokem +7

      @@yaniwet True. I came of age in the 90s and early 2000s and am a lifelong twiggy waif. When heroin chic was everything, I always had people commenting on my body, how I was so thin and they wish they could be like me. I always hated it. Even though I had the "ideal" body type for the time, it put crazy standards and on me, made me feel like the only thing people cared about me was how thin I was or that i had to be thinner. My body became who I was: "Oh yeah, she's that skinny athletic girl."
      I have to say that with the curvy trend now, it's easier for me, personally. That's likely because I'm in my 30s and am too old to matter nowadays, and also that I just don't care so I don't pay attention. Moral of the story, girls will always have unrealistic beauty standards thrown in their faces. It's up to us, and only us, to rise above it and not care what others think about us.

    Angles are everything honestly! Growing up I was a really skinny ,tiny teen, often half the size of my peers(cause I developed later) and because I was just all about having a good time when me and my “girlfriends” took pics together I looked like the biggest one! Cause I was often standing directly in the middle and just straight on to the camera… while they were sideways, angled, bodies twisted, legs elongated etc for the perfect pic 📸 even now that I know that’s what girls do! If I’m in a group pic, I just don’t do that! I’m happy knowing I workout, and I feel healthy and strong, I don’t have to look the skinniest or tallest in cameras! Everyone who meets u in life just knows how you look😅

      Curious, because another side of this is feeling insecure because you’re “too skinny” and stuff, I’ve felt insecure about being too heavy, then due to extreme stress and anxiety I developed a gut issue which turned itself into a kinda… well an unintended eating disorder. Hurt to eat, hurt to digest, so it felt better just not to eat:( I’m on liquid gainer and meal replacement to help me at least keep my weight and hopefully gain. I just didn’t realize before experiencing it that skinny people can be just as insecure. Some people love to hear how they need to “eat a burger” and when I hear it coming I’m just dreading the rest of the words… anyway I was just curious. I love your take on it and how proud you are to stand right in the middle and represent your beautiful self just as you are:) ❤️‍🩹

Being in the fashion and advertising industry, retouching models photos for ads is part of the trade but so glad we are moving away from over retouching and becoming more inclusive- although fashion could do better to be more inclusive and accepting. Ok I love to know celebrities that throw so much bank in their bodies STILL HAVE cellulite. Thank you. Also I really commend you for being confident enough to show your “normal” beautiful self as another example. I mean 8 months pregnant and an absolute stunner 😍 you’re the best example for body goals and self love and you are… simply a badass 👊🏻🎤 I love and appreciate you, please don’t stop we all need reminders on the regular

    Hey Stephanie,
    I love your videos so much and am so grateful for all the work you’re doing for women! I was wondering if you could do one of these videos on mid and plus size influencers as they also look different on Instagram to in real life. As midsized girl myself it can be quite demoralising and disorientating to see representation of people your size that is still seemingly flawless. It just places so much pressure on all of us women and I’m so sick of it!! Again thank you so much for all that you do and congratulations on your pregnancy 💓💓💓

    Stephanie, thank you so much for your videos!!! I was bullied at school and by some adults for being fat. However, when I look at my child photos - I don't see anything wrong with me but just being a child or going through hormone change or going through a lot of stress by losing my relatives and just being a very gentle person in general. So such an approach made me hate my body and I still can't allow people to touch or see my belly as my most insecure part. BUT your videos make me feel better and better about myself. I got surprised when I look in the mirror and think ""looking good today! this is a very unusual thought for me. So thank you very much! wish you all the best!
