    Neurologist here: the CT scan was done to rule out bleeding in the brain. With a concussive injury that severe with the duration of unconsciousness he experienced, we do the CT to evaluate for things like traumatic subarachnoid hemorrhage, epidural hematoma, subdural hematoma and cerebral contusions. There is no validated diagnostic test for CTE in people still alive but we are getting closer. It is only a diagnosis we can make post-mortem. I share the same concerns for his overall well-being expressed by Guru in this video. I hope he gets the care he needs going forward.

      What do you think about creatine...I heard creatine gives u 50% less brain damage maybe thats the reason why conor couldnt ko poirier the coach of poirier did 2 vids about creatine and brain damage but took it down for some reason. In the vid he said poirier started creatine since a few years

    • @christopherstack176
      @christopherstack176 Před 2 lety

      @@kamikazeplays6818 there is no solid clinical trials in humans to show benefit of creatine reducing traumatic brain injury. However, it has been studied in neurodegenerative diseases like Parkinson’s disease. The results have been varied. But the scientific rationale is that it reduces oxidative stress in cells, including brain cells, which can protect them from breaking down. So while I cannot say that creatine reduces concussion/traumatic brain injury with any scientific proof, there is some logical rationale for its possible utility.

      Like the guy in this vid says, it was the best anyones performed against chandler in an opening round recently. If Tony goes out and gets beat in his next fight then it’s fair to say he’s probably finished. You can’t judge him on an unlucky knockout, if chandler didn’t get the lucky shot in and the fight continued in the same theme as the first round then everyone would be talking about how Ferguson is back. He gets dropped by a shot that would put an elephant to sleep and suddenly “he’s finished”…. MMA fans are so fickle.

    I didn't really see Chandler putting Tony down with his hands personally. It's funny it always takes some crazy thing we don't expect for Tony to lose. Dude is so damn unlucky. Even Chandler said he doesn't train that kick and didn't even plan on throwing it. He may have noticed an opening but still the timing and placement would be so hard to replicate. The Weasle praised Tony's abilities and even said most of Chandlers ground and pound was nullified. Watching it back Tony really did have a legit solid rd. So finally I can take a breather knowing all the things Ive been defending for the past couple years werent just made up fantasies in my head. I just hope this doesn't lead to the same demise as Chuck Liddell because then Tony really will be done. Either way I feel like I was robbed of seeing more of Tony fight. It's been so long since we got to see him be in a competitive fight and I knew Chandler was a good opponent for him to make that happen. 1 rd is not enough. Now he's going to be up for a at least 8 months and by then the dudes gonna be 39. Gahhhh. Why why why.

    It's actually interesting to see just how rapid Tony's decline was after he got treated for his mental illness with pills and shit.
    There's no doubt, the Tony who was paranoid, smashing his own house standing over his wife waking her up screaming in her face, running away with his son, etc, was the savage people remember Tony as. He's medicated, and the inner Aztec just isn't there anymore and hasn't been there for years.

      Dude he looked great in that fight until the moment he got caught. Even off his back he had some nice elbows and was defending great.

    I think this the Anderson Silva vs Izzy point where he should retire but won’t. Hopefully he does though, he was able to bring back El Cucuy for one more round and I’m still happy about that.

    His corner said "dont let him get those kicks off for free" then the first kick Chandler threw in the 2nd round Tony plants his feet and winds up a counter left. Its just so sad that he listened to his coach and it had the worst possible outcome.

    Chandler deserved this 100%. He fought so many great fights, was so close to winning belt but didn't. Tony on the other hand didn't deserve this. It kinda feels akward to even think about being happy about this situation. All in all sad to see fighter like Tony end up like this but I am very happy about Mike and I think he should go after Conor and knock him out too

    There is no point in Tony's career where he would have absorbed that shot tbh. I don't think it's that his chin was spent but it definitely might be now. It's not like he got caught with something he would have recovered from before, I think it's a different situation than Max.

    Tony's career as a top contender is over but that doesnt mean he cant continue to be a draw and have entertaining fights. But the truth is he has taken lots of damage over the years and shouldnt take any more but tony wont retire unfortunately. Thats why people like him are fighters though.
