That was playing out to be such a great fight, McGregor on another level early on the feet, destroying Poirier's leg, good on Poirier picking his shots and getting the takedown when he needed to, landing good elbows.
Such a shame on the way it ended, Poirier would've won in my opinion, but if you ended Oliveira vs Chandler after round 1 I would've told you Chandler would've won.
Dustin does not have 1 round cardio and weak chin like Chandler though . But I agre it was a very shitty ending.
same thing happened to Carlos Condit when he fought Woodley
Guru Dustin was peicing conor on the feet before they hit the ground
He wasn’t on another level Dustin landed a big combination tat stunned conor before he shot a takedown and was smashing him bad on the ground and Conor’s hand was blown from the 2 attempted guiltone

Let's just give a brief moment of silence for when Dustin said "And for all yall booing, you can kiss my whole ass hole!" 😂
that was funny to be fair
I was confused if they were booing him or cheering
good for Dustin that was a power move
The second he said that, I was like, I’m using that for sure
He sounded confident in the way he said it too...like Jolie does some strange things for him
Who's here from Conor's Netflix documentary
McGregor got injured because you insulted the MMA Gods yesterday 🤦🏻♂️
🤣
McGregors brain subconsciously broke his own leg to protect his life from ending
Hahaha, that’s hilarious that
.... or maybe just keep a few more IQ points, in exchange for a bit of a limp?
Good trade imho!
man this just makes me depressed. even if i picked dustin and dustin was gonna win just it ending like that. How can anyone be satisfied with that unless you are so blinded with hate for connor? never been so disappointed
Yeah, I was disappointed in the way it ended, and wanted to see some proper closure to the trilogy but I’m still happy that Dustin gets his title shot.
I felt the same when Silva broke his leg.
The fight never should have happened and was a cash grab. Dustin showed he is even better than second fight by getting 10-8 in the first. We all know we want olivera vs poirier.
@@omarisawesome1996 made me a lot of money

Poirier cracked Conor midway through the round. That’s why McGregor backed up and decided to initiate the clinch.

Have you seen the fight with chad Mendes you may say that it was not full camp Mendes but McGregor was injured he popped his ACL or something but took shots of chad Mendes not shots but bombs

Khabib trashing Mcgregor after breaking his leg. Humble brotha humble…alhamdulillah
He didn’t even say nothing bad dude
You know dis bratha
So humble
He didn't mention Conor...wtf are you talking
Humble doesn't mean being quite 🤡
He said the truth.
Guru you’re actually trolling… are you really this much of a McGregor fan?😂 Conor was getting tossed around all fight, he’s lucky 🍀 he broke his ankle… he was on track for going to sleep… again.
Also, Poirer was raining down strikes on Conor while he was crying against the cage, it could of arguably been stopped right there. But Dana was paging Herb through the telecom not to stop it haha 😂
Like khabib just twitted "Good always defeats evil" .
What did conor said before the fight? " he is gonna live the octagon on a stretcher...... How ironic.
Poirier literally dominated everywhere.
Guillotine attempt was disgraceful. Not a fluke. Poirier is Conor’s father.
Hell ya

Dustin was piecing him up

You left out the part where porier hit him with a beautiful right hand
Sad thing is Dana is basically making it sound like Dustin goes on to fight Oliveira and then if he wins or loses he fights Conor again. If Dustin ends up champ that fight better be at 170 cause so help me God if Conor gets a title shot, the UFC is going to lose a lot of fans.
Conor won't fight for 12-16 months.
Conor can fight Islam when he comes back..
So Guru have you ever stepped backwards and had your leg just randomly snap? So why did that happen to McGregor? It’s almost like another force had some sort of interaction with it.
I was just about to say something like this. It’s perfectly plausible that McGregor sustained a hairline fracture and caused his leg to go out later. Even though you can walk on a hairline fracture doctors will immobilize the extremity TO PREVENT FURTHER DAMAGE.
@@jamesglenwright9800 right. Hairline fracture and then a twisting kind of force when he pushed down with his toes on the step-in, the twisting just hit the damaged part of the shin at the right angle, snap
Exactly....and mcnuggets is a pro mma guy. To say the least Guru is not indeed lol. Good point tho man 4sure
Here is Conor’s coach confirming that the fracture occurred when it hit Dustin’s elbow czcams.com/video/kVuJSjSuLsU/video.html
@@MrRazmut Thanks man. You're absolutely right. When I broke my fibula I had a second surgery to remove all the plates and screws because even though I could walk on it the screw holes made the bone valunerable to twisting forces. Forces very similar to what we saw with McGregor.

Dustin tagged Conor and then Conor initiated the clinch and it was downhill from there. Conor’s biggest weakness is in the rare occasions when the stand up isn’t going his way he doesn’t have the skill set to take the fight to a different realm.
Yeah but he was beating dustin in the stand up so idk y he went for a guillotine
@@quae4729 Conor was having success early in the stand up but Dustin was starting to tag him. Dustin hit him with a straight then followed with an uppercut that stunned Conor. Conor was starting to get pushed to the fence and that’s where Dustin gets most of his finishes and finished Conor there last fight. Conor then initiated the grappling by clinching Dustin.

Agree 100% Why shoot the desperate takedown if you are "winning" on the feet?
@@wiktorman do you know what your watching? Dustin pressuring, moving forward with a 5+ punch combo causing McGregor to clinch to halt his movement is not shooting a desperate takedown
@@ericcote4754 oh you're a wrestler now?
@@wiktorman i think guru is blind. His play by play commentary is always absurdly inaccurate.
Conor was saved by his leg break , he was about to light him up n hurt him bad
I don’t care for a 4th fight. I want the top guys fighting the top guys. Conor can do the Diaz trilogy or a Pacquiao boxing match or whatever. If Dustin Poirier beats Olivera and Conor comes back to a lightweight title fight you can no longer call this a sport. A guy who hasn’t won at 155 pounds since 2016 will fight for the 155 pound title in 2022.
It’s prize fighting, I agree with your point but complaining about it is just pissing in the wind. Hendo got a title shot when there was obvious no 1 contenders like Whittaker & Romero, and Dan Handerson is no where near the star of McGregor. So you might as well stop calling it a sport now if that’s your opinion.
If he got gassed we'd say his cardio wasn't on point.
If he got wrapped we'd say he didn't do enough for his ground game.
If he was eating punches we'd say his guard, his movement and his boxing was lacking.
If he couldn't overpower his opponent we'd say he needs to improve his strength.
If he neglected bone-conditioning, then the better contender won.
This is MMA; you gotta come with the complete package. You can't say it was an unexpected or "freak" occurrence. It's reasonably expected that your body, physicality, skill, technique, efficiency, stamina, fight-IQ and more have all got to be primed to be competitive.
Oh my werd!
I'm reading this just now, this is retarded lol. He broke his leg his body was still in prime condition... But if you watch the documentary, it seemed like a misdiagnosis from the doctor... It probably wasn't a "bruised ankle" it seemed to be a stress fracture. Should he have pulled out back then?
What I think happened was Conor was practicing calf kicks in camp, during the camp fractures started to build through his calf bones (same as Weidman UFC 262). He threw a kick that was checked( which made his calf bone in a worse condition) and the the end of the round he stepped funny on his leg and it snapped.
There were zero checked kicks in the fight. Rewatched it many times. I agree with the rest of your assessment though!
@@coyotes16 Agree, after rewatching it I don't think there were any checked kicks, but some were landing with the foot which could over stress that lower part of the leg, also kicking at almost 100% with each one isn't helping

The injury itself might alter Conor’s career
He was never the same since khabib
@@endureuntiltheend86 He looked really good in this fight. He was never really that good on the ground anyways. He looks better
@@filletkabob1916 he looked worse in this fight to me. He threw kicks that did nothing, never once even hit the calf. At least he landed good shots when he tried to box last fight, here he didn't land anything of note with the hands.
Accumulate damage can eventually cause a bone break. So where as it wasn’t JUST the check that caused the injury it definitely aided the break.
Before he got injured he was getting dominated on the ground with those elbows. It was only a matter of time before dustin took over the fight.
I’m at the opinion that Conor’s fractured leg compromised him from the leg kick onwards. Couldn’t move his head, couldn’t get a butterfly guard which he was able with khabib, etc
Guru gave a detailed video going over every possible variable for Conor’s career after the trilogy, and then this happens...
Well he did also plan out if he loses
the same judges that gave it 10-8 are the ones who thought Jones won 4 rounds against Reyes
3 minutes of control and almost KOing someone with elbows is a 10-8

@THE MMA GURU Guru one intresting thing to look into is when conor stands back up he looks off balanced or something, looked like his legs were head or something prehaps thats why it twisted funny?
maybe he hurt it when he was pushing off of dustin's hips with his feet when he was down and it just bent the wrong way. it looked like his legs were in some awkward positions during that attempt to push dustin off of him. then when he got up a put that pressure on it with that step back it just snapped.
"Time bomb" lol. Funny line tho haha. Good job bud
Great analysis. I’m in complete agreement.
Thank you
Not calling it a win for Dustin is coping because you don't want it to be over for conor, Mcgregor got literally dismantled in the first round, barely landed anything significant: one good hand and a couple of kicks most likely leading to the fracture. If this isn't a win what is O'malley/Moutinho then ?
Looked like the "checked" kick was just above the toes
It was checked. Adrenaline’s a bitch, u don’t BRAKE an ankle by just stepping wrong
Dustin outstruck him 36-27 on significant strikes I think
28 of dustins shots where elbows
Dustin had more significant strikes but conor had more landed strikes total
Damage trumps all. Poirier rocked connor and was never rocked himself; forced conor to shoot. Bruised up conors face and busted his cauliflower ear. 10-8 DP and 2 judges agree.

Mayby they should check cracks or possible cracks on xray on legs further on in this sport before the fights
i said dustin was gonna tko him at the end of second early third, but the people saying dustin checked the kick and the check made his ankle snap like a minute later literally makes 0 sense to me. Fair play to Dustin he probs would've won it, but that was a no contest/ doctor stoppage not a tko win

if that were an in his prime ferguson dustin would have been done, but yeah it seems like more often than not these guys just waste energy and give up position attempting it.
What happened to your proper 12 idol that you built of Mcgregor by the window?
So what the etiology of the break
A better fighter would have there foot work sorted out,
It was the pressure of Dustin that forced Connor to take the step,
Connor Mcstrecher
Guru spittin fax
Bro. You don't break your leg like that because you step back on it. It had to have been compromised.
Dustin did not check the kick but it did hit Dustin's knee. That's what caused small fracture. Then near the end of the round when Conor got up, Conor threw a kick that hit Dustin's elbow, that's where it officially broke ( per Kavanagh). Watch the footage in slow motion, when he is loading up to punch Dustin(the punch they both missed), his shin bents, which is what causes his punch to miss.
unfortunately, conor seemed to have a stress fracture in his ankle even before the fight
Sorry Guru, i love ya but McGregor hurt his leg from the kicks first. You don't understand anatomy enough. It is possible to cause a microfracture and then give out when stepped on in just the right way.
In no way ever is that a 10-8 round
Yea he definetly kicked against the elbow.. ik this hurts but am not 100% sure if it can brake like that lol wtf
Lads we now have the Chad Ocho Cinco curse
McGregor is Rousey 2.0 😔
Sorry but it was the check. It was also the EXACT position it was check. I think you are under estimating the force that Conor was throwing those kick and Poirier pointed at him indicating it was checked. Afterward, Conor stop throwing calf kicks. The remaining kick he threw was thigh kicks because those are harder to check. Leg break like this has happen a few times in Muay Thai, it was probably on the verge of breaking and Conor put enough stress on it then it snapped. You also forget that Conor only has 6 month to train, he might of not had enough time to condition his shin to become hard enough to withstand hard checks. If you slow it down, and look at Poirier heel, he clearly turned his knee outward to check it. It was really fast and has to be slowed down but it was checked. Adrenaline probably made Conor not feel the severity of the fracture in his tibia.
Tibia bone breaking like this does not happen without a reason and for it to happen at the exact spot that was checked is just too much of a coincidence. Could be other things but I think it was mostly due to Conor inactivity so his shin is not hard enough to withstand checks. Muay thai fighter spend years conditioning shins, it is not surprising that his broke quiet easily.
After that first round, I didn’t see Conor being able to keep up the pace and win that fight.
Damn Connor is a sore loser…i think he’s lost a lot of brain cells over the last few fights. I can hardly understand him anymore
True but Dustin acted like a clown too.
If you trained for 6 months for redemption to win a fight that dictates the future of your career and you randomly stepped funny on your leg causing it to snap in half, whilst your opponent trash talks you and mocks you in the cage whilst your on the ground with your leg in two pieces.
Would you take the loss well?
@@the-mma-guru He said he was going to literally kill poireir he got what he deserved
I agree with the loss of brain cells though. Conor’s starting to sound like an Irish Stipe Miocic
@@mac2098 No he didn't.
I dont feel it was fluke. Mcgregor rushed his shin conditioning; he's not used to throwing them and he broke his ankle. You can't expect to have strong calcified shins within 6 months and start throwing those calf kicks the way he was. I also saw all that I needed to in that first round. As soon as Mcgregor got up and broke his ankle, he looked drained and there were nothing to his punches.
lol I used to work in a nursing home you would be surprised how many came in with broken legs and hips lol
Mcgregor got Anderson Silva’d bro. He’s done. Never will be the same again.
Is the leg Mcgregor broke the same leg Dustin chopped up in the second fight?
No his left leg snapped, Dustin chopped the lead leg which is the right
If you'd ever been in a fight you would know that with adrenaline you can't feel it your brain is blocking out pain. It was a fracture to the tibia and the fibula and the hair line fracture was made worse but him throwing more kicks.....the check did do something I habe a screen shot with the lump on it
Let’s hope for a tetralogy in the future.
Well, you said it, you thought Poirer would win in the 3rd. So he won in the 1st. Even better. Conner is over rated and in over his head with the big boys
In order to fight Poirier after his return, He’s gonna have to fight Gaethje unfortunately for his legs
Fluke shit, not salty about it :) you called the body kick at the start though.
The leg broke on a teep kick to Poiriers elbo/forearm.
Was conors injury because of the bone or the ligaments around the joint? I genuinely can’t tell. If it was the ligaments, then the check argument from Dustin scientifically doesn’t make sense.
it was the shin it'self, conor was smashing leg kicks the whole fight so it probrably gave way
@@bobbob-cd9yl I don’t think so, I think the left side of the ligaments of his left ankle snapped. Dustins argument scientifically doesn’t make sense. Look at where the snap occurs closely
@@bobbob-cd9yl never mind I just saw it from a different angle, it might’ve been the lower part of the shin bone😬
Guru please look at the kick McGregor throws with 13 seconds left in the round...I do beleive thats where the injury started and then the ankle roll finished it. It just makes sense. Even look how McGregor reacts to the kick, something wasn't right. Even if it wasn't a check it still was damaged from that kick 100%. Check it out. Get back to me👍
I think he maybe injured his leg after several kicks, I mean maybe his bone structure not the same anymore, people grow up people get old.... people genetically get older at different times.... some sports players can retire at 40 some have to retire at 32 ... For me this demonstrates that maybe he has the top 5 skills but not the top 5 genetics anymore.
i thought he hurt it landing all those heavy kicks early, but now i think maybe it started when he was down and trying push off dustin's hips with his feet. he was pushing off, dustin pushed back try to close the distance to land some ground n pound and it bent his leg the wrong way. it just hurt a bit at first and didn't seem too bad until he took that heavy step on it and it snapped. that's just my guess, looked like his legs could have been pushed in some awkward positions during that push off.
what a terrible ending to the trilogy i knew dustin would win but i hope charles makes dustin tap.
Porier beating Olivera
I would not call this random. Conor used to be known for his technique, in this fight he tried to out muscle Dustin. He loaded on his punches and kicks, him loading on kicks led to this. And his inactivity has contributed to his brittleness.
Do 50 pushups guru
The mma gods left us a long time ago
Watch it in super slomo and zoom in on the 2 seconds b4 thr ankle roll. It was already stress fractured. I just rewatched it like 10 times. Right before he throws the left, the left bends and once he retracts it bends which then causes the ankle to roll. Wish Conor won but he musta kicked it to hard because it broke on a leg kick.
Dustin is just doing his THANKYOU strut to Auntie Karma WHAT IT AIN'T DUSTIN'S FAULT YOU PISSED HER OFF 😂😂😂😂
that shouldn’t be a tko for dustin he didn’t cause that snap.
It actually should
That's how tko injuries work
That’s just the rule. Not much you can do about it
Not a random loss , leg got fractured due to a check and it’s possible and likely as the fight progressed fractured got worst and worse plus due to adrenaline and fighting on instinct pain was withstand able finally had a “breaking point “ and that’s what we witnessed
Someone Screenshot the kick McGregor landed at 13 seconds left at the round. A few moments later his leg breaks. I don't think a pro fighter's foot, yes FOOT, not ankle, should break like that just because of a mis-step.
There is no way you can break your tibia rolling your ankle or stepping on it like he did, Conor broke his lower tibia and that is the bone that collides when checked, it is very possible he cracked his tibia after the check. After McGregor landed the kick the fight proceeded on the feet for a little over a minute before Porier controlled McGregor for over 3 minutes of the round on the ground. What I’m eluding to is McGregor spent most of the round on his back after he attempted the guillotine making it entirely possible his leg was fucked the whole time because as he got up from dustins mount at the end of the round and threw the punch that’s when his leg miraculously snapped. Makes me wonder if he went for the guillotine because Conor knew he was compromised and was desperate or any way to win as it was presented.
Well mostly Dana White agrees. With Cobor, you have a license to print money. So you are probably going to do another rematch and with the bad blood between the two more money
