- Jorge Masvidal recently attacked Colby Covington at a Steak House in Miami and sucker punched him twice in the face, this is my MMA news reaction with a breakdown of all the headlines and stories, let me know what you guys think in the comments below.

What I think happened, Masvidal snuck in with a facemask and hoodie up, sucker punched Covington at his table then in a scuffle was pushed out of the restaurant, Nelk Boys told Covington not to respond and to stay put but Colby ran out into the street to confront Masvidal (as footage shows) they had another scuffle and Masvidal was arrested and dragged away, Covington questioned outside. Nelk says "wtf were you thinking" as they come out, IMO proving that Covington chased after Jorge, the guy wouldn't say that if Colby just stayed put and avoided confrontation.
ESPN MMA saying Colby said "I ran" when he really said "I ran out here" is all you need to know about the state of MMA media.

If it's a street fight Masvidal gets no breaks or breathers, doesn't get back up and back of the head shots for Covington are allowed so Masvidal cant just turn and give his neck on the ground to avoid damage.

I feel as if the stuff Colby said is true. Masvidal had around 2 years to street-fight Colby, around a year ago Colby posted a pic with Jorge's wife, called him a deadbeat dad, etc. Jorge could've fought him then. Now, after he lost the sanctioned fight, he says he did it for his kids, which is total bogus. He did it, cause he was helpless in the fight and felt the need to prove that he's "Street Judas". Hope Colby takes as much money out of that as possible.

There's a reason why the "BMF" title was made for Diaz vs Masvidal & not any other 2 fighters.... Masvidal started the family stuff in his interviews first. He said he started to see who "the real Colby" was by the way Colby treated his own mother and sisters. Basically saying Colby treats his own family like trash, because he's trash. Colby's "no u" in response, was to say that Masvidal treated his wife and kid like trash. That's why this shti is so funny to me.
1. Colby never talked about Masvidal's children. He talked about Masvidal being a deadbeat father. He never commented on his children. If anything, he was supporting his ex-wife and the children by making sure that the issue comes to limelight. His ex-wife even showed up to Colby's place. They played video games and shit. He's on very good terms with her.
2. Colby absolutely DOMINATED Jorge for 25 minutes and Jorge couldn't do a damn thing. He looked like a joke and that speaks of his Journeyman status.
3. Colby has always been a professional. He's acted like a soccer player or NBA player. Never fought on the streets. Always competent in the octagon. This just impresses me about his restraint and healthy attitude. ANY gopd coach will tell you to never fight on the streets.
4. Masvidal is an embarrassment to the sport. Just like Bisping said. He's trashy, has no control over his emotions, he's indisciplined, he doesn't win fights in octagon (or streets anymore). And he makes it look like MMA still has dog fighting thugs in the sport and not world-class athletes.
5. Colby got all his words confirmed. Did Masvidal just confirm that he's a criminal? And given that he has kids and he's setting a terrible precedent for them so he's a deadbeat dad too?

I love Masvidal and his whole come up story, but this is not a good look. You had 25 minutes to do whatever you wanted with this guy, and believe me I even stupidly bet money on him to win out of pure emotion, but he was simply outclassed during his opportunity to do real “damage” to Colby. Sucker punching Colby in public because he’s embarrassed about the previous fight is not a great look whatsoever. Beforehand while the beef was at its highest point, that would’ve been fair enough. But after you get outclassed by a guy for 25 minutes during your opportunity to do all that you said you would do, sucker punching him after that loss is not necessarily a “gangster” move by any means really.
