  • Why is lightning style so broken in the Naruto series? Out of the 5 Nature transformations in Naruto, lightning style seems to be the most powerful. Jutsus like Raikiri, Chidori, Kirin, Indra's Arrow, and the Raikage Amps make it seem like lightning style is just superior to other elements.
Besides, Sasuke was using lightning style up until the last fight in Naruto Shippuden, and using it effectively. Foe example in the Naruto vs Sasuke fight or even in the Naruto and Sasuke vs Madara fight. Other elements never got the treatment in the story. But why is lightning style so much strongers?

He should have taken notes from the last Airbender to figure out how to make the other elements look cool.

Kirin is one of the jutsus that can inherently hurt a Ten Tail Jinchuriki, break and/or destroy a Truth Seeking Orb because it is NATURAL lighting beast that Sasuke controls.

Lighthning was good at first because it used to consume massive amounts of chakra so it automatically balanced itself so it would make sense

Listen guys... Expecially Naruto fans... If It wasn't for KURAMA Naruto would've freaking died

Kakashi's lighting wolf would most definitely be a dangerous to a Avarage Shinobi joinin. The skill required to even shape chakra like that is very underated.

Wind Style is also broken and OP as well, despite being underrated. Rasenshuriken and Danzo Wind Style Jutsu were broken AF! With Wind Style, you can enhance your kunai and shuriken and create slicing vacuum waves or wind bullets. Plus, you can probably fly and cut through anything with powerful Wind Release Justus. A Wind Release Chakra Mode would be fast and deadly sharp compared to the Lightning Chakra Mode of the Raikages and Sasuke.

"kakuzu is fodder" kakashi literally needed 2 raikiri just to stealmate that lightning attack

Lighting style is OP because of it penitrative capabilities through vibrations of Lighting. It the second most piercing element with the added speed and shock factor. Plus, the main character Sasuke and Kakashi use Lighting style as well.

Boruto is the type of kid that will learn limbo clones somehow, and instead of them working for him they will just beat him up

I think the main reason lightning style became so powerful is that 2/4 of the main characters use it as one of the main natures so it naturally had a lot more powercreep

I wish the Wind Style/Wind Release had got the same or comparable treatment as the Lightning Style in the manga and show. Considering how much it's hyped up at the beginning of Shippuden as the titular MC's ONLY Nature Transformation we almost never get to see its potential. Yes, we had Rasenshuriken, which was cool, we had a glimpse of Fuuton Rasengan, which should've become Naruto's main close range offensive option instead of the regular Rasengan, IMO, and we also have seen a couple of wind jutsus done by Danzo and Sora. For a show called "Hurricane Chronicles" there seems to be a lack of, well, "hurricanes" and such, if you ask me. Imagine what could've been done if, for example, Naruto had received proper elemental training from someone capable of more than infusing a knuckle blade with chackra (no offense, Asuma). Invisible and ungodly sharp wind blades than extend from weapons, providing phantom reach, wind cannon, wind bullets, some form of vaccum style jutsu that just sucks out air from a specific area. Hell, even a Wind style version of Kirin, a natural dragon-like or a bird'like creature made out of a tornado.

TBH I think Earth is probably the strongest of the five basic transformations. Heavy Boulder jutsu lets you petrify people and increase your physical hits by a lot. Lighten Boulder jutsu lets you fly (because reasons) without any special Kekegenkai while also letting you transport heavy objects and increase your movement speed. That earth style hardening Kakazu had, for as much as we meme it, gives you a really solid defense that presumably scales with experience and ability. You can make earth style golems. Earth style mud clones like Orochimaru used are some of the best clones in the series. Mobile Core lets you change the battle field in a instant. And to top it all off Earth is one half of the three strongest double element transformations, Explosion Style, Lava Style, and fucking Wood Style. If you take Filler as cannon then it’s also part of Crystal style meaning literally all of its combinations are broken.

heart style is also insane, it allows you to use the art of mimetism and with that your invisible basically unless your facing a dojutsu user or a a sensory type, its also presumably is what allows onoki to fly

I think water style got done dirty. There's just so much you can do with it. And memorable and powerful shinobi like Zabuza, Haku and Kisame helped cement it as something to be taken seriously.

Could it just be that people with different nature transformations advance in their respective arts at different speeds? And that in each generation, there is an uneven distribution of geniuses and innovation per element? For what we saw in the series, in this specific time frame it just happened to be lightning. And Kishimoto particularly enjoys drawing and writing around that element in particular.
