#LimpBizkit #JohnOtto #SoundLike - Hudba
Snare isn't tight enough John had that tight crack with a little ping in it. Otherwise great job brothers
Snare isn't "poppy" enough.
Also I think he uses 13" hats.
Yes. Otto was famous for his snare sound
A picollo snare would be better for this sound
Unfortunately, crashes (especially smaller) sounds cheap, like my band in high school... Maybe spending little more on cymbals, wires and skins for snare instead of changing actually snare would help more... Regardless I'm glad that you trasferred "sound like" idea into a Drum Dept. ;)
Whether or not it sounded like Mr. Otto, that was the best utilization of budget, yet.
we need that korn
Do sounds like Gojira that should be fun
David Silveria ex Korn please
The way you play that kit, 10/10
nice! good job
thank you very much 😊👍👍
I think the drum sound was bang on- love your vid's but i think the snare would be better with no dampening what so ever👍👍
PLEASE do a Vinnie Paul vid!? SOOOOOOOOON!
Hats off to the guy in a tribute limp bizkit band being on this type of video
Do you have an idea of the snare tuning note with frequency ( like 260 Hz) ??
Doesn't that mapex kit come with another floor tom? It shows another one on your website
All rock drummers should build their foundation in jazz.
All jazz drummers should build there foundation in rock.
Funk.
@@ashtonfitzgerald1445 nope,jazz,John Bonham used jazz
@@Waltzhybrid92 why so they can play 1/4 for life
Do sounds like Brad Wilk ‘ RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE ‘ that would be sic 🥁🥁🥁🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻 hello from Australia 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
This sounds nothing like Otto....They almost never get any of these right...
I agree but that said I think it's much harder to replicate a drummers sound on a budget. U less youre gonna buy the exact kit, which defeats the object, you'll never get it close. Its not like a guitarist who can buy a pedal and mess with amp settings.
@@00Ryder they couldve at least cranked up the snare massively or even got a picolo and the rest wouldve been redundant in my eyes.
@@gluv1 yeah I agree with you on that. To be honest there's only a handful of these vids that sound remotely close to the drummer the Josh Dun one was OK but they bascially used the same setup that they used for Travis Barker. Which just highlights that if it's a drummers withing the same genre it's basically down to a genre sound rather than a drum sound.
The ones with no budget baffle me... If you've got no budget, you'd use the exact same cymbals, heads, sticks... Everthing. And even then there's still tuning, mics and all the recording, pre-amps, compression, eq and mastering to get right.
Matt Helders(Arctic Monkeys), Patrick Carney (Black Keys), QuestLove (The Roots), Larnell Lewis (Snarky Puppy), Steve Jordan (John Mayer Trio) PLEASE!!!
I'm with everyone on these comments, the snare sound was WAY OFF. John Otto normally does a piccolo snare drum or one that has more plys in the snare drum and it tuned up high. He uses chinas and splashes in his setup apart from the hi-hats,ride and crashes. The song "My Way" is from "Chocolate Starfish and Hot Dog Flavored Water". And "Rollin'";which is from the same record as "My Way", he's playing ghost notes on the snare drum along with the hi-hat in the beginning of the song. And on "Take A Look Around"; which is from the SAME RECORD as the other two songs, John is incorporating ghost notes AGAIN on his left hand while the accents is on his right hand. But overall the beats are on point. And those are my two cents
6:18 it’s break stuff lol
Not the most spontaneous video I gotta say. ;) It's painfully obvious that you knew exactly what equipment you were going to use before the cameras even started rolling. Where it says "My Way", the drummer (who seems to have had a little too much coffee and/or coke) is actually playing Break Stuff. I also think a shallower snare would have gotten you MUCH closer to Otto's sound. Gotta say though, the PSTs sound great for their price, though I don't think that they resemble John's cymbals in any way.
Should have went with a piccolo snare ...on significant other John Otto has the best snare tone the Mapex pro m 5×14 is close tone wise or Tama 3"1/2×14 steel piccolo too
Jeff Porcaro from TOTO please
Please do a sounds like Nic Pettersen from Northlane!!!
Travis Barker
Carter Beauford
Lars Ulrich
Awesome drum.
so far away from Otto`s snare sound
is it aluminum snare?
Okay, now do it WITH busting the bank. Gimme those Zildjians!
Did they stop makign these cause everyone figured out they were just adverts for stuff that wasn't selling ?
Out of curiosity, how long can a cymbal last? Of course it will depends on the use I suppose, but any idea?
Nikoo033 with the right technique it will outlive you!
Jonne ok, good to know, because they seem quite expensive. 😅
Nikoo033 they are... but expensive is not always good. YOU need to think it sounds good so it depents for everyone
My uncle has cymbals that he's been using for 30 years or more. With the right technique and also good care ( using cymbal bags, not stacking them on eachother , ect... ) They'll last forever.
Ya broke the budget with the bass drum
6:17 mistake. played "just like this", not "my way", played very cool also
Break stuff I think
Sound like Mike Portnoy (Dream Theatre).
Bass sounded great and punchy but that snare wasn't right. Needs a 4" brass with a tight coated head. Then it gets that nice tight punch crisp sound with the slight "ping" in there. Definitely a close sound for a budget of $1,000
Lads
wheres that signature cranked snare?
couoldve atleast gottan a picolo, your in a music shop?! surely there was one there?
Snare. The most important part of his sound couldn't have been further off
My way is not on significant other
My way From significant other? They did mistake the title. It sound like show me what you got.
Its Break Stuff
@@j66u6 yeah. Guess you know. Is break stuff.
Snare is way too Deep, Otto used picolo snares i think.
just rhyme here with here and youre all set for sounding like limp biscuit
I own mars , litrally it's a badboy it can nail every genre of music ,,I had knocked out a overrated dw collectors easily...... mapex for life and respect
No Chinas?! For sure not John Otto! Lol
Can you do Marilyn Manson? Plz
Sound like ray luzier korn
Haa u Mess up the name
Ah yes my way off of significant other it's not like it's on chocolate starfish or anything
Im pretty sure you're not even close to his sound if you cant even get a proper piccolo snare, a normal snare isn't even close with the highest tuning.
Naaa son ... naaaaaa
Got everything wrong as usual except cymbals
My Way is from Chocolate Starfish And The Hot Dog Flavored Water
Second "my way" in the vid isn't "my way" obviously.
I’m sorry but this sounds nothing like him
bro.... i could do it for less and to sound more like john :)
😬 Missed the boat on this sound. If you can’t get the snare right, don’t go for it. This sounds like a cheap drum kit, nothing more.
Why would I want to sound like Limb bizkit, that shit is horrible
yikes... no where even close
Jesus...they sucked when they were a thing, pls don't resurrect.
Still a band and touring, unfortunately.
your playing is so weirdly bad LOL
Cymbals sound cheap. Nothing like Zildjians or Sabians.
Limb Bizkit? Really
Yes, really.
Keep your bias to yourself.
John otto is a really underrated drummer
