Limp Bizkit's drummer John Otto talks about his drum set up and his favorite gear. John's a fan of the Gibraltar G Class pedal and talks about his move from drum racks to stands.

I love his snare sound on the old bizkit albums.

He used a vented OCDP piccolo snare for the first two albums i believe. The snare in 3 dollar bill was my favorite.
He mounts his snare so high though lol. Like how could he ever do ghost notes without contorting his arm in a wierd way.

Man Otto is one of the most underrated drummers IMO! Morgan rose, Abe Cunningham, ray luzier, and john Otto are my biggest influences, then there are more, but damn I can't believe how little recognition he got, even when bizkit was huge with KoRn.
He’s one of the tightest and tidiest drummers I’ve ever heard and still stays like a live organic feel too.

They’re all super talented individually.
I think the combination of Rivers, Otto, Borland, and Durst is utterly unique. They're all talented together but if you take away absolutely any of them then you don't have Limp Bizkit anymore.

There really is no substitution for good technique on the drum set. That technically (giving the size of the drum set naturally) that you want to be able to reach everything while keeping your elbows tucked by the side of body trying to extend the shoulders least as possible. John is doing it right and staying solid on the drums for it!

Limp Bizkit is a good band. The rhythm section being very good, John is tight but loose, and in the pocket with his playing. Both John and Sam working together to create a groove and beat that's cool but heavy too. It makes you want to get up and move (but not dance. Mosh pit maybe). But one thing that really needs mentioned about John is "How Good" his drums sound, especially live. Alot of emphasis is on the kick drum.

it looks like john is constantly thinking about beats in his head, like even when he's talking normally to people all he can do is just beat drums in his thoughts, at least thats what i'd like to believe, cuz i'm doing the same thing most of the time
