- The sport compact class is heating up and the Elantra N is Hyundai's answer. On the outside you will discover 19in wheels, unique front fascia, rear bumper and exhaust. On the inside there are sport seats, a digital gauge cluster and a 10.25in infotainment screen. Under the hood is a 2.0L turbocharged inline-4 that pumps out 278HP & is mated to either a 6-speed manual gearbox or 8-speed DCT. @Patrick Bateman I'll be sure to remember. Been using Kia products all my life, having had any issues.

@Patrick Bateman is that how you live you're life. If,when...... I own a Kona N, had it for 6 months, and just came back from a 5 hrs business trip and had a blast with the car. It's got dual personality, normal and N.
I can go buck wild an average 19 or get comfy and average 34 mpg. Again I love this car.
The DCT version of this car has over 300HP. They dynode it and it had 280HP to the wheels! True performance machine
I just got my ceramic white 2023 Elantra N a month ago too. I've loved every second with it. Hope your buddy has lots of fun with it too! â€

@HipĂłlito Rivera I paid MSRP for mine here in Hawaii. There were some dealers here that wanted 48k+, but I managed to secure mine for MSRP.
Honestly the best part is the 10 year / 100k warranty, especially on a performance product.
If I bought one I would make sure I keep it completely stock , go to dealer for oil changes etc, basically give them absolutely zero reason to void your warranty and then just ride it out for years
This is so very true Joe!
It only in USA that warranty? i think in Canada its only 5 years?
Just test drove this 2 weeks ago i was insanely impressed by the acceleration exhaust note and handling. Hyundai has really stepped their game up.

The Hyundai Elantra is in violation of Raiti's Rule #9: "Absolutely no chrome on a performance sedan. It needs to be gloss black." But DAMN i love the overall design, and it gets extra points for the exhaust. Such a beautiful sound! Overall, a well-built machine.
This is so very true! The sound wins me over 100%
Kia/Hyundai have been doing great things lately! I canât believe they still havenât earned the respect of some after the Kia stinger/k5 and these Hyundai N models

I didnât like the way these looked in all the review videos / photos but Iâve seen a few of these in person and they look way better in real life than in pictures
I agree with you Jordan!
Hey Joe, I bought the DCT model in Cyber Gray and could not be more impressed with the handling and feel when driving this car. The instrument cluster is well laid out and driver friendly. And then there's the SOUND! I turn heads on the road in N mode, and people look startled that it's an Elantra. I am so happy with this car, that I can not even begin to describe the joy of driving it, especially the handling on corners. The tires grip the road like you are glued to it, truly an impressive vehicle. Considering the price, this is hands down the best value for a mid level performance car out there. Loved you video and keep up the great reviews that you post!

That is so wonderful Dheeradj!
I was between N, WRX, waiting for GR, R or something used from premium brands.
Went with Elantra N, no regrets. Many compliments, very eyecatcher of a car in N trim, and a lot of questions from people " what's that"
Lol I just see a regular elantra. It is a good car but not a neck breaker
@@ju4121 regular and N are two different worlds. It's too sharp of the design for the regular trims
@@dacei itâs still a 4-cyl though. $32k for a car with no life in it. Sounds like a sewing machine too. It looks alright, but underneath thereâs nothing to it. Recently got my hands on a 2022 Camry TRD and have driven both cars now. The TRD actually has life to it. Sounds good and looks good too.

@@KevinQ50RS lmaooo bro. Driven both cause my friend owns one. Itâs slow as fuck. Heâs selling his for a TRD like mine.
I feel like this car is an underrated gem. Sure it might not have as good of a build quality as the big boys, but on the other hand you can actually get this car and not have to break the bank. Because you KNOW the dealership is charging $10~15k over MSRP for a Type R / GR Corolla / Golf R.
I have a Kona N and the build quality is actually very good--the stitches in the seats are perfecly even and there are no gaps on the dashboard--I even bought a dashboard cover off amazon and it fits over the vents etc perfectly.BTW I would rather have the hard plastics because they are waterproof--clean easy and resist scuffs that exotic materials do not.I also left my window half open one time during a rainstorm and if I had had exotic materials they probably would have been damaged. The audio system is also very good and the tech and screens on the display work instantly--no lag like you would find in Ford and some Audi products.Only problem is the reacll and luckily all mine needs is a software update--the car is also able to keep its warranty if you take it to the track and I think it is the only manufacturer that allows this.
golf r?????? zaĆĄto?????
@siniĆĄa jakus golf r is about $45k in USD, dealers are adding between 5k and 20k over
@@catinthehat5140 I went and looked at a golf R in 2020 and wound up getting a brand new AWD Stinger GT for 36k--the Golf R--2020 model was 45k back then.I also was able to sell my stinger a year and a half later for 45k--made 10k off of it when several folks contacted me after seeing me race it at public drag--so I own a Kona N and was able to pocket 10k--I miss the stinger but the local drag near me closed and the stinger sat too low for me to go up to the mountains where I like to ebike.
Big boys...who? Hyundai has leveled the field a long time ago and now set a new bar for others to follow. I'll give credit when those "Big Boys" make a car that can go to 0-60 in less than 3.4 sec and make a half decent EV car with 800v battery pack that can charge from 10-80% in 18 min
Just seeing this also makes me wish the US got the Hyundai I20N. That little hatchback is such a hoot. N vehicles are simply awesome.
I drive a KIA Stinger GT but that said I think this would be my pick for a front wheel drive. Fun to drive but also functional as a daily driver. đđ»

I have a tyrpe r and the elantra N and the brakes on the elantra are insane. It even have bigger front discs than the tyepe r
Like the brakes. I purchased a 2020 GT -86 & my brakes do not have yellow nor red. My 86 stops in a heartbeat. I agree with Hyundai on this issue. I've been looking at this car in Light gray/ silver color, saying that I love everything about this car. I would get the shifter
Thanks for that great info from your experience!
Great review! I personally went with the Kona N. The look of the Elantra was too extreme for my taste. I already have a manual transmission Celica GT (tuned) so another manual is out of the question. The DCT is a godsend in this California Bay Area traffic. Best of both worlds imo.
lucky! is the ride as firm as reviewers have been saying?
The kona N is much better looking in my opinion as well however I could not even fit in the backseat headroom or legroom behind my seating position. So Itâs just too small lol.
The traffic is exactly the deal breaker for the manual

I have 15K miles, plus time on the NCM track in Bowling Green. I have a Lap3 Stage 1.5 ECM in place of the factory, which adds about 50HP. Stupidly easy to install. Plus PowerFlex engine/transmission mounts which cut down wheel hop and further stiffen the amazing chasis. The car is a rocket yet totally streetable on 93 octane. Gotta watch for Johnny Law cuz it's tempting to drive like you're racing all the time! BTW, NO brake fade on the NCM track. I'm old (73) but I love driving fast. Totally recommend the NCM track experience. 2 days, 5 20 min runs per day. 6 if you are up to running in the "open" session. 4 levels: Novice up to Advanced.

I just bought a 2023 intense blue 6-speed manual Elantra N. I got it for MSRP with the best warranty in the game. I didn't love the exterior, but it grew on me. This car drives like a $40,000 car in N mode and can be comfy enough to be a daily driver with all of the equipment turned down. I was surprised to get a very reasonsable rate on insurance, due to all of the safety features. 276 horses with burbles, turbo whine, and E - LSD performance at a slightly better price point than the 200 hp Civic SI - that local stealerships are scalping. The Elantra N compares to the Civic Type R for a much lower price. Definitely the best unnecessary purchase I ever made.
