- I'm glad to share this Power Wash Water Tank video about my years of experience testing various float valve devices. From the Hudson to the General Pump and the Jobe, I have used them all and am happy to share my experience with you as consider these options for your pressure washing business truck. As we fulfill another truck build order at Doug Rucker Store, this was ideal time to address the issues that come up with float valves.

Thanks for this video, Doug. The benefit I realize from using the general pump float valve is that water fills completely to the top of my tank, whereas with the other two valves, the water level is about 6-8 inches below the top of the tank(Hudson) and 3-4 inches below the top of the tank(Jobe).

Doug, does the JOBE have to be installed on the side of the tank? Or can it be installed over the top like the HUDSON does?
They can be installed at the top. We do it all the time.
Have you ever had trouble with the water in your tank breaking the float valve while driving around with a half tank/quarter tank/etc???
No I have not had that issue.
Doug - if you are running a 5gpm do you recommend using a 3/4” hose or 5/8” hose for your water hose supply ?
3/4 is best 5/8 will work too
What hose reel are you running your supply hose through? Don’t most hose reels carry a half inch manifold? Wouldn’t that restrict flow on a three-quarter inch supply hose bolt from the spigot to the reel and also from the real to the buffer tank?
