  • In this video I do a 1st year review on my Kubota LX2610 compact tractor. I'll tell you what I use the Kubota LX2610 tractor for, the accessories that I have added, the things I really like about the kubota tractor, the things that I think can be improved, the issues that I have had and finally, a rant about the things that I hate about my Kubota LX2610 compact tractor.

    Spending time outdoors doing projects with various machines and tools - anything from cutting trees, firewood, clearing brush, milling wood, plowing snow, reviewing, repairing & fabricating equipment. Doing landscaping and maintenance on my forested property using my Kubota tractor.
    And its not all work!! Gotta take time to play - after turning my pond into a skating rink, and a whole bunch more of outdoor activities.

      You're welcome! I am definitely very satisfied with my LX2610. It's suitable for 98% of my needs. There is the odd time that I wish it could lift a little more or reach a little higher. I think no matter what size, type or brand of tractor you get there is always going to be that small percentage of things that it's not going to be capable of doing because it's either too big or too small, etc. Happy tractor buying.

    Very nice review Paul. I agree with you on all points.
    Kubota makes excellent equipment. Their stuff is well built, very reliable, and lasts a good long time.
    Some of their engineering doesn’t seem to be very well thought through. The location of the hood latch, the IH ion key switch location, fuel tank fill location. All of these could be remedied easily and would be if the design engineers were to use these tractors daily like we do.
    Kubota has done so many things well. They have a great reputation for their outstanding equipment. They better be putting their thinking caps on here. Their are companies that would love their share of the market nipping at their heels. Just like so many companies, they could easily find out that it is harder to get the business back than it was to get it in the first place.

      Good morning Gary, Kubota does make fantastic equipment. Your correct that engineers need to apply more thoughtful to practicality but I also can very well imagine that for somethings they are too difficult or not enough customer feedback. Yes Kubota has others nipping at their heels and need to keep improving, especially by listening to the consumer. Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend Gary!

    Great video. Your discussions here helped me choose my LX2610. I am also bummed about the filler location, but I do appreciate the clearance I get from having the tank up high like that. My biggest issue is that the tilt steering randomly jumps out of position during maneuvers. Hoping warranty can take care of that.

      @JelenOutDoors  Před rokem +1

      Thank you kindly! I have also had the tilt steering pop out a few times. I wiggle it once I position it to ensure it is locked in, it seems to help but I shouldn't have to do that. It's something I do automatically so it didn't make it in my video. Happy tractoring and thanks for watching!

    I'm looking at buying an lx26, but your last two complaints are the same complaints I have with my tractor. I'm getting on and off and sometimes I leave the brake on... It happens. Also, the shirt grabbing the handles, that happens on my Mahindra as well. Those probably aren't Kubota problems, they're just compact tractor issues.
    Thanks for your video.

    • @JelenOutDoors
      @JelenOutDoors  Před 29 dny

      I totally agree that those two issues are not specific to the Kubota brand. Also, I think the issues are partly operator fault, but still think a better design by the manufacturer is needed. Either way I am very happy with the tractor and much more instinctively conscientious of the two issues and now it is a very rare occurrence that I forget the brake or get my shirt caught up. Sounds exciting that you are getting a new tractor. I am sure whether you do purchase the LX or some other brand / model it will give you years of satisfaction. These machines are so useful. Have a super day, thanks for watching and happy tractoring!

    As far as the levers on the left side of your tractor does not only on your tractor that’s on all Kabota’s I have a midsize 2360 I catch my pant leg on it all the time the other things the parking brake light all you have to do is adjust the steering wheel but do you have a Tilt wheel use it as far as the grease fittings go you can go to Lowe’s and get a little white caps they’re in the shelf department put a little white cap over top of the grease fittings they fit real nice enough to prevent you from getting resorting to close the other thing take some time off you’re stressed out over this tractor you don’t wanna do that just thought you’d like to know❤

      @JelenOutDoors  Před rokem +1

      Hi there, I agree all the Kubota's have levers that seem to be an issue with regards to catching clothes. It doesn't seem to matter how I tilt the steering wheel the little red brake light doesn't catch my attention. The grease zerk caps are a good idea to keep them clean but it's the grease that spews out to the sides of the fittings that I try to clean up as much as I can but there is always some that gets onto me. Yes some time off is a great idea. Thanks for watching and have a great day!

  • @leejferguson
    @leejferguson Před rokem

    I too have had my jacket catch on the speed lever. I've done it enough that I've changed the way I get off to avoid it, not ideal. My biggest gripe with the 2610 is the jerk it has when trying to do "precision" movements and the throttle will jerk the tractor forward. As well the placement of the loader stick, I have a rear snowblower and find when geared up with big boots and snow pants, when your turned looking back my leg tends to bump the stick and next thing I know the bucket is at full height or I'm dragging it. For fueling, I use a battery powered pump that you stick in the jerry can, you can get at CT or HH in Perth, Works awesome.

    • @JelenOutDoors
      @JelenOutDoors  Před rokem

      Good morning Lee, yes the tractor does jerk forward as you mention and that is an issue if you are trying to make precise movements. I find that it's not as prevalent in low gear especially with 4 wheel drive which I operate in most of the time it's nonexistent. I never use mid range when I need to move the tractor more precisely. Nonetheless that is a great point and I should have mentioned it in my review. I haven't experienced the loader stick issue as I don't use any rear pto implements but it's good to know. I have thought about getting one of those battery pumps but I don't know how good they are. Thanks for the feedback it's very helpful. Have a great day!

    • @JelenOutDoors
      @JelenOutDoors  Před rokem +1

      I was thinking perhaps engaging the loader lever lock when using the snowblower may help or perhaps it may just be a nuisance. Anyway, just a thought in case you haven't tried it.

    • @JelenOutDoors
      @JelenOutDoors  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Good morning and congrats on the new tractor! I hope that the dealer works with you to ensure that you get what you want. It should be in their better interest to do so. They can sell either of the tractor's quite easily. You can ask to change to the L2502 and the worse is that they so they can't do it. The L2502 and the LX2610 virtually have the same engine and PTO horse power. The L2502 is definitely a heavier/ beefier tractor. The LX2610 is much more geared to creature comforts thus more comfortable to operate. They LX2610 has a better 3 point lift capacity while the loader lift capacity of the L2502 has a slight advantage. The LX has a higher clearance underneath. It really comes to what fits your needs. Both tractors are great and I would be happy with either one of them but that's me and not you. Anyway, I really hope things work out for you and that you are 100% satisfied. Just a note to remember is that no matter what you get no tractor will fulfill every requirement but it should satisfy at least 90 to 95 percent. Have a great day!

    • @chuckstubblefield5998
      @chuckstubblefield5998 Před 4 měsíci

      Thank You for advice, and no they didn't help me out. I told them I here to pick up my mistake. After using the lx2610 it definitely was. Lx2610 is way to light to be picking half of what they claim without having some kind of weight in the back. My fault not there. I will say if any one is looking to buy the lx2610, don't. The l2502 is built 40% stronger and l525 loader is way beefier than the l535 that's on the lx2610. God bless and hope thus helps someone.

    • @JelenOutDoors
      @JelenOutDoors  Před 4 měsíci

      That's unfortunate that they didn't work with you. Regardless, whether it's the LX2610 or the L2502 you need rear ballast weight by either filling the rear tires, adding rear wheel weights or adding a rear implement or a combination of then. All tractor brands and all models need that rear weight to offset the weight you lift with the loader. If there is another Kubota dealer nearby I would go and talk to them. Good luck!

      Also get a magnet and check under the lx2610. Rear end is aluminum, and bottom half of trans is as well. Iam gonna stop looking at this thing. I am very old school and I'll take cast metal over aluminum on a tractor any day of the week. Dealer said it was cast iron rear, from now on my magnet goes with me. I want to make sure that before anyone out hear buys anything that they check check and recheck every square inch of there machine before buying.

    According to the FTC, since at least 2021, Kubota has labeled thousands of those parts as Made in USA when, in fact, they were imported from overseas.
