  • From AFC Liverpool in the English non-league game to AC Omonia in Cyprus, HITC Sevens takes a look at seven random football clubs who were formed in protest over the way in which their previous clubs were run or the people who were running them.

You have left out SV Austria Salzburg. That was the original name of Salzburg's major football club, until they have been bought by Red Bull in 2005 and thus have been completely rebranded, including their name, their logo and their colours.
While most local fans are pleased by the constant success their city's major club has been enjoying domestically, and being represented in European competitions every year, a group of more traditional fans were displeased with the re-branding and have since founded a football club, SV Austria Salzburg, which is currently playing 3rd tier football in Austria. Even though SV Austria Salzburg have reinstated the original club's name, logo and colours, they are on paper a football club that has been founded in 2006, while FC Red Bull Salzburg is the club that officially carries the "original" SV Austria Salzburg's legacy.

I don't know about other countries, but Norway at least had not only left vs right (or rather workers or bourgeoisie) football leagues and FA, but all sports clubs (no matter if it was wrestling, boxing, football, whatever) organized into one of two rivalling national federations of sport. There were "The Norwegian Confederation of Sports" and "Workers Federation of Sports" until German occupation of Norway, where their cooperation in resistance to the Nazis paved the way to one single organization after the war.

Hapoel did indeed beat Beitar 1-0 goal coming in the 16th minute, but it was however in a pre season compatition called "Toto Cup" which is a little like the Leage Cup in England. When FC United we’re in the NLN 2-3 years ago, I went to watch my local team play against them at Broadhurst Park in the league. Their stadium was extremely nice and modern, and there were about 1,400 fans in attendance with approx 150 of those being away fans including myself (this was a local derby though, as both teams are based in Manchester, so the attendance was possibly higher than usual). No doubt about it, FC Utd had class fans and even though my local team won 2-1 after an 83rd minute goal, their fans kept a great atmosphere going and they can’t be knocked for that.

You got it wrong with F.C. United, Alfie.
    1. The green-and-gold campaign of “Love United, Hate Glazer” is from 2010. When F.C. United were founded in 2005, no Manchester United fans were using green and gold colours.
    2. The club no longer has 5,000 members, far from it. According to their own website, membership stands at under 3,000 at the moment.
    3. The move into Broadhurst Park did not occur until May 2015. 2005 was the year F.C. United were founded.

Until he does (if he does--see my comments on the sub-Saharan African club Best XI), think of academies as basically high school athletics detached from school. A good North American analogue would be IMG Academy, and even then (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, Alfie) IMG places much more emphasis on academics than their European counterparts

The cause Arema split in two because of the League competition was in turmoil on 2012 (the top league was split into two), Indonesian Football Federation (PSSI) legalised Indonesian Premier League as their "Legal" competition and the Indonesian Super League is way opposite, for the Club who joined ISL forced to move into IPL competition, the result Arema were play on 2 league (ISL and IPL), after IPL confirmed as the illegal leagues the ISL continue and the team who participate in it (IPL) were relegated to the 3rd division, and the funny thing is both AREMA were played on same pyramid football system, until this day they arguing who is the real AREMA and who is the impostor (some people say AREMA on the top flight was the real one, other people say the real AREMA is on the 3rd tier)
