Thank you for this review! I am on the fence between the King 2.5 and the Fox 2.5 and looks like you guys confirmed my thoughts of "best all around" choice as far as DD and Off Road vs. Mainly Race or Off Road application due to a wide range of settings on the Fox 2.5.
Something like this is ultimate dream build...still not sitting insanely high.
It puts the truck at what we think is just the right height for just about everything.
Did you have to hammer out the stock lower strut bolts that are press fitted from the factory? Or did I miss that step in the video?
I like your guys install videos but it’s crazy how you guys don’t torque anything to spec and with the suspension unloaded and don’t have any issues
Ok..now I don't have anything to say...wth?
i installed these about 2 months ago on a fx4 2013 but they are really stiff when they hit a bump its really stiff is a like they doesnt compress at all
I was wondering if theres a way to make it softer i was thninking on turn the thread so the spring has moore room to compress would tris Work? Or theres another way to make it softer
How often do you guys recommend having these rebuilt? On a truck that does about 80/20 city/offroad driving.
F150 with Fox DSC coilovers
where was this video shot? and i think i've seen that stage 3 truck on base where i work.
So I noticed your reservoir was installed upside down in relation to the fox decal. Did you decide to mount the brackets on the other side than fox intended?
Yeah... looks like they accidentally switched the driver and passenger side
At what point would you want aftermarket UCA with 2.5” shocks? Similiar offroad like the video. I would think getting the most advantage of 2.5” shock to upgrade the UCA with your choice (Total Chaos, Camburg, Icon, Baja Kit, etc.)
I'll direct you to our UCA guide video found here - czcams.com/video/j9kHqooBD0w/video.html
Hopefully this helps. Any other questions, let us know!
I had the same experience as you guys have described these fox 2.5 shocks but with my Rancho quick lift with rs9000xl shocks in the rear with a 2" add-a-leaf from auto spring. Only cost me just over $600 for the whole setup. All these resi shocks are way over priced.
No they're not. They're worth the money. You can abuse the hell out of these coilovers. You get what you pay for.
I noticed that the reservoir line goes down thru the UCA and then up and around the UCA to the reservoir mount. Is that how it’s supposed to be installed? It seems that at full droop that it could possibly cause interference. Btw, great video and review!
We have installed these coilovers on a few trucks, all with the reservoir and its line mounted the same way. No interference whatsoever!
It is supposed to be installed above the control arm. Unfortunate to Stage 3's response.
No issues with the uca's hitting the reservoir brackets under full compression?? Only reason I ask is because this happened to mine on my 2019
What do you guys have for suspension in the back? The 4wheeler didn’t seem to lower the back.
We added a rear block and add a leaf kit in order to ensure the added weight wouldn't have a substantial impact, check out the product details in the link www.stage3motorsports.com/stage-3s-2014-f150-stx-hunting-truck-builds-leveling-wheels-tires.html
Can you run a 2” strut spacer on top of these or do they already level the truck out?
These will level the truck out so you wouldn't need the 2" spacer!
Is this just a leveling kit? 0-2 inch lift?
I have a procomp 6” lift. Can I get the fox 2.5 Coil-Over for 4-6” lift with a 1.5 strut spacer on top to clear 37”s? It looks like the setup prior to with the sock shock with the pro comp provided strut spacer. I want an extra inch over the 6” kit with a better ride. Thanks in advance.
This is possible to do, although it might hinder the ride quality that the Fox 2.5's give. You will have to make sure no brake lines or vacuum lines are stressed. Also be careful of the UCA to make sure it is not at any extreme angle.
@@stage3motorsports thank you for the response. I'll be ordering from you guys.
Grant Saeger de
lol 6 inch lift with better ride, tf u doing boy
do yourself a favor and get new control arms and new tie rod ends
5:08 so wtf do you think Ford had in mind building the truck?
this is why I must upgrade to a f150 from the ranger...i need these.so my blue 2017 reg cab 5.0l with sliding rear will be NASTY. plus the shocks match the color of the truck and my eyes
Need to get some wheels with less offset
I see that all y’all replaced was the shocks, so in what conditions would y’all recommend after market upper control arms?
When your stock UCAs have really bad angles or stock ball joints wear out
See dirt king uca
Why don't u replace the upper control arm???
It just wasn't a priority in this build, it was only leveled so they factory arms weren't angled too far.
What did you guys use to spray paint it?
IDK what they used but I used POR15
Skipped steps.... what about removing the cv from the knuckle etc..
You guys loosened things that didn't even need to be loosened
but sliding rear window is the deal breaker
You forget torque to spec.
Top 70 newton meters
Bottom 90 newton meters
wtf that axle nut is small as fuck, i just took mine off my silverado and it was a 36mm socket lol.
How about that guy in the back
lol
Looks petrified most of the time. lolz
when he said "55mph" dude started holding on for dear life
34K views? I have these Fox on my 2018 Chevy Colorado. Waste of money. Too soft for offroad.
Buys expensive coil overs
Doesn't do general maintenance. Holy grooved brake rotors! 😆
