Never tighten the lower control arms until tires are on and weight is on the vehicle.
This guy should watch more American Trucks videos because I just watched the two inch spacer video installation where that guy talked about having to knock out those studs in order to remove the shock. 😂
Do you guys have a video on how to adjust the ride height?
This great man reminds me of the athletic kid in the movie, "Breakfast Club"
For the love of god people.. do not losen the lower control arm nuts. It will cost you $200... take off the 13mm nut and pull the cv out. Super easy and then you’ll have all the play in the world! The reason it is going to cost you, is because when you go in for an alignment you’re gonna have to buy camber adjustment hardware. $60 a side and they’re gonna charge you an hour to put them on. ALSO... be VERY careful with the vacuum lines to the 4x4 actuators. They sit right on top of the strut tower and are very brittle, if you crack one it will try to engage your 4x4 while you’re driving and grind the gears on your cv shaft.
Dude this ball joins are about to blow... I would change the upper control arm for a better fit and better geometry since you lifted the vehicle
They look terrible in the video since the suspension is at 'full droop'- with the truck on the ground and the suspension loaded up, they are fine. Ultimately replacing them is never a bad idea, especially if you plan on thrashing your truck off road but for the purposes of this video we just wanted to showcase the coilover install. -Justin
Would you want to get any more aftermarket hardware to accompany these to prevent future damage to your stock suspension, or CV joints?
I was expecting this video after yesterday haha
Are you able to put a spacer on top of the strut? If so what type of spacer would fit? Also my reservoir is coming out of the strut and 90’s left how do I make it go straight down?
Just ordered a set of 2.5 for my f150. I’m not wanting to do a lift, I was wondering is adjusting coil over to 1” then using a 1.5” spacer to achieve 2.5” total. I got upgraded UCA and CV axles to accommodate more angle. Is it worth it for the .5”? I’m wanting just a tad more clearance on full lock.
Never seen the resivor put their before.
Usually the bracket gets bolted on top of the shock. Crazy
I had mine mounted above the shock but bent my reservoir brackets under full compression. Now moving them down to the frame
@@esefkay08 can people tamper with them when you're parked and away from the vehicle?
@@anthonypazoz4323 with the resi? Not anymore than they would be able to when mounted above the coilover.
Can you add a spacer on top?
One question, let's say I put new fox shocks on my ram 2500. Would it affect the way that I tow heavy loads ??
What direction do you turn the adjustment ring to raise the height? Clockwise or counterclockwise?
Buy from accutune. Fox factory valving sux.
Do you guys have the one's for a 2WD 16 f-150
I also want to know this.
I have the 2.5 fox shocks installed in my f150, but for some reason I don’t think the guys installed them right, I didn’t know much once I started seeing their other trucks… the way the grease looks on the shocks, to me it looks kind of sloppy, I’ve gone back to the shop because the shocks are squeaking to much, but the keep add more grease.. they said they contact fox but they haven’t contact me..
Probably tightened your lower control arms in the air. Loosen them now - on ground and then retighten. Your bushings are bound up
My Fox coilovers started rusting pretty much immediately. Pretty disappointed in the finish.
What would you recommend for non rusting ?
@@jasonmarquez5953 Call attention to Fox shocks rusting so they start thinking more about the quality of the product that they put out.
What part rusted? The bodies are aluminum
If I buy this, what do you guys recommend for the rear shocks?
Same Fox 2.5
mine are a year old and 1 has already leaked out all its fluid never been off the road..
how big of tires can you fit with this suspension?
Really depends on your year Ryan- what do you have? -Justin
@@americantrucks 2018 f150 4x4
Given you have an 2018, the crash bars will limit your tire and offset. With this suspension you could get away with a 295/65r__ which is a 35x11, as long as you don't get too carried away with your offset. -Justin
does this suspension increase truck height?
Yes, 2" in the front. -Justin
This won’t fit on f-150 2014 and under
Why only front.
I mean will it effect the rear if you only put two infront?
I have a 2020 F150 4x4. What is the biggest size tire that will fit and operate properly?
Thanks,
Sean
What suspension we talking Sean? -Justin

@@americantrucks Also, Can I use a smaller wheel, 17 or 18 versus staying with the 20 that is stock?
and if I can and do what are the positives and negatives?
You can definitely use a smaller wheel, as wheel has no affect on tire fitment in the wheel well. What I mean is a 35x12.5 will always be a 35x12.5, doesn't matter if its around a 17" wheel, 20" wheel or 24" wheel.
As far as your setup, it really boils down to your offset and your willingness or not to trim. If you wanted to keep things simple you could put a 295/65r20 on your stock wheels which would be a 35x11.5 or you could always go with an aftermarket wheel with a 33x12.5 without issue as long as your offset doesn't get too wild. -Justin
@@americantrucks .... Thanks Justin- with this info I’ll be going with Icon rebounds 17x8.5, Offset:6 and BFG KO2, 33x12.50R17..
I’ll be sure to post pics once it’s done. It will be a while since shocks and tires are on back order!
I appreciate the education on suspension and tire fit.
Keep up the great informative videos!! 👍🏻🇺🇸
