  • Installing an on/off switch for traxxas 8028 power supply. trx4 in example, but will work for any 8028 application.

Hello, can a crane other than the light kit be installed in this part? What is the output voltage?

Do you know what the connector type is on the power supply? I got aftermarket led kit that came with the 3 prong jrt type connector that's meant to go to receiver. Not sure which post in power supply is positive/ negative or if that even matters with the led's?

The power supply ports are jst connections. Correct, it doesn't matter with leds. It may matter with winches or other servo applications though. Thanks for watching.

Question, can this power supply power things other than LEDs? In my case, I want to connect an ESS Dual Sound Kit to this power supply using an adapter. Would this work?

The ess dual will receive power from your channel 2 port in the receiver. It requires a range of 5v to max 24v. The 8028 provides a constant 3v, so it will not power the ess dual. Plus the ess dual needs the additional information from channel 2, that the 8028 cannot provide. Like throttle positions and braking so the unit knows what sound to make.
Apollo has a good quick tutorial on the ess dual install. Here is a link. Thanks for watching! Happy trucking. czcams.com/video/z1xgE9pNUQ4/video.html

@@therealdirtybutler Thanks, from my understanding, the ESS Dual receives ONLY throttle signals from channel 2, and needs to plug in elseware to have power. My other choice for powering it would be to use the included adapter to essentially create an off-shoot connection from my battery to the ESS dual.
