  • Want to control you Traxxas TRX44 led light kit with your transmitter? In this video I show you a cost effective way to do this. This process also works on most ligting controls and Led light kits.
    This is easiest with the use of a new transmitter such as the Flysky GT3C or the GT5B. Just remember you will need at least one separate channel avalible to run the light control. THis same process works when running non traxxas electronics, you just need to wire the factory led box into the battery leads instead of the ESC. I show this control running on channel six and programed to a button on the top of the radio. This can be done with as little as a 3 channel receiver on trucks with only steering and throttle channels used by plugging into channel 3.
    CHeck out the links below for the products used and a video on how to waterproof your receiver and lighting control unit.

    Just found your channel. I absolutely love the way you actually explain things compared to so many others that don't.
    Thanks for the upload and sharing the information/knowledge.

    Thanks to you I can finally turn my Trx4 lights on/off from my GT3C! This setup should have came installed from the factory on these pricey little beasts imo. Great mod!

    I like those apex switched have a pair in a stampede one on the bumper lights and the other on a lightbar on the roof.

    So the light module is constantly seeing 2s power, as in 7.4V?
    Does this increase or stay the same if running a 3s battery to power the RC? Great description and information 👍

      @LargeeeScaleLife  Před 8 měsíci

      honestly, I can’t remember I think that it does step the voltage down the lighting control module is plugged in to the ESC but I would have to break out the voltmeter and actually check it. I know that it can handle whatever battery that that ESC can handle the other wire that is the tripwire to turn it on and off, that is just saying 5.5 V from the receiver. I can check the voltage with a voltmeter and see I’m actually kind of curious now that you asked that.

    do you got a link or can you tell me to where you bought the adapter box for adding multiple lights to it?

    Great video. Do you know what the maximum input voltage is for the Traxxas light connector?

    • @traviseller3770
      @traviseller3770 Před 3 lety

      So if you’re asking what voltage the lights actually run on it’s 3.5 to 5 V. However the lighting control unit actually gets direct power from the battery and it can be see it either 2 or 3s Power and it just steps the voltage down to what the Traxxas lights use. Hope this helps most Traxxas electronics such as servos and everything like that generally is limited to 6 V. Most of the time they don’t like anything more than that

    The JST lead from the light controller to the ESC has 2 black wires ? Which is + - ??? A JST can be plugged in either way and will fry the controller.
