How to Sew a Crossbody Phone Pouch by Debbie Shore

- This handy pouch is perfect for the dog walker but would make a nice little bag for a child, you may need to adjust the length of the strap. I’ve made it as a cross body bag for my phone and dog treats, the main pocket fastens with a zip, the front pocket with a popper, this can be left off if you wish.
My main fabric is Elephants Garden Flowers from www.debbieshoresewing.com.
Materials:
Two outer and two lining fabric pieces each measuring 6” x 8” [15cm x 20cm]
One outer fabric piece measuring 6” x 6” [15cm x 15cm]
One lining piece measuring 6” x 6.5” [15cm x 16.5cm]
One strip of fabric for the strap measuring 2.5” x 44” [6cm x 112ccm] this can be any length you like…
8” zip
Popper
Fusible fleece such as H640
Fuse fleece to the wrong sides of the two main outer pieces. - Jak na to + styl

Everyone has a unique twist. It is hard to pick.
I'm glad to see one with English instructions so i don't have to guess. I'm experienced in sewing and have the nack at figuring it all out. Its just nice not to have to think too hard. At my age thinking is getting more time consuming than sewing.
I love the common things Americans name differently such as "snap" vs "popper". I'm American and we call them snaps(plural).
Also "zipper " vs "zip"
Love your videos and I can't wait to make this for my new 13 yr. old step-granddaughter!

This is right "on time". I'm trying to come up with something to put my phone in when I scan products in store for $$ and to trigger steps on my cash walking app. This is ideal because of strap length flexibility, proximity to access phone & a way to secure phone with a snap or hook & loop fasten. I bought zippers with decorative pulls & lacey sides, so I can't wait to use them in this project. Thank You so much! 💌

Just the ticket for what I was looking for in a bag. A friend found a crossbody Vera B. bag. I found it easier for shopping than hauling my big bag around. However, I found it would be better just a little larger. I priced the correct size on Amazon for the same maker… $60.00 US. This is a great alternative and I may decide to make several as a way to switch it up a little. Your instruction moves along clearly and easily understood without a lot of fluff. Thanks again.M

This is so clever and calming to watch. I really want to make my own phone bag so might try an do this. Recommendations for a good quality sewing machine? Suitable for a beginner but has all the necessary functions and wont need to upgrade etc.

I’ve made this bag today but my phone is quite heavy so I’m going to make another with one strap attached to the front and the other end on the back, I’m hoping this will make it more balanced.
